You could switch betwenn NV and thermal on the L85 before it was removed :)

I have never seen them spawn. I have a pair currently which were a gift from a buddy I made whilst engaging in a bandit hunt in my home server. In return I gave him a little bird I had pinched from said bandit.

^That will work too. Although in wasteland the death penalty is much lower so people tend to be a bit more gung ho!

The best tip I can give is to stay calm. I've bumped into people and they've panicked and unloaded but missed while I've stayed calm, aimed carefully and killed them. Also, get to know the weapons and their effects. Eg one shot from the m14 aim will knock somebody out pretty much every time so you won't need to go for a tricky headshot when the easy torso shot will do nicely.

It ain't my idea of fun lying for 30 mins waiting on some chump to walk past me but fair play to you if that's your thing. Just be aware that sooner or later while you're peeping through your scope somebody is gonna sneak up behind you and cap you.

Dayz does place extra demands on your system on top of the arma 2 portion. In would imagine playing arma 2 on high with decent fps would translate to at least the same performance on medium settings :)

Try punctuation too. That was hard to read. Even a low ping server can hang if its got a lot of people on it. Filter for ping and maybe try joining with max 20 players.

Hey fella. Thanks for your service! This game is pretty heavy on your connection. I know you don't get such good service out there, and sattelite connections are always gonna add an unavoidable time lag that hits your ping time hard. I don't think trying a geographically closer server will help you cos you still have to go up and down into space both ways but its worth a try. Maybe there's a server in Pakistan or India you could try connecting to? I can't find any in gametracker but that doesn't mean they aren't there. Maybe the community could help on that? Failing that, if you have enough guys interested and the right hardware yeah you could set up a LAN. The next patch the blood/food indicators are getting a revamp to make them more accurate.

I like green mountain. A nice uaz spawn and 2 deer stands. Makes a handy waypoint on the journey north.

True dat. I've had a bandit skin for a while now purely because the players who tried to shoot me missed and I didn't. Humanity calculations are a bit wonky in that regard.
