I sucked real bad on my first couple of lives. I remember my feeling of joy when I found an Enfield only to have the gate boss break my legs and leave me unconscious and easy meat for wandering zeds. I guess the secret is to not worry about dying or losing your stuff. Its gonna happen, but each time you will learn something new. Pretty soon other players will be your only fear. Then you will know you're one of us.

I've now watched all of sacriels videos and feel like I can comment on the matter with some degree of insight. I don't see him or his squad doing anything that could be called bullying. They don't do anything I haven't done myself and I consider myself a friendly player. They play a shooting game and shoot people so they don't get shot. They do it with a degree of skill and coordination. Nothing else to say.

Humanity used to increase slowly on its own. I'm sure it still does? Its dead easy to get a bandit skin in self defence due to the wonky way humanity is calculated and once you have the bandit skin its difficult to get players to trust you enough to let you close to do transfusions etc.

Look around. Where would you sit if you were looking to snipe? Act as if there was someone there looking for you at all times. What route could you take to avoid being seen from there?

I want zombies to outnumber bullets. I want to be cornered in the church and have to switch to my hatchet cos there is a pile of hundreds of zombie corpses and used brass at my feet. This is more PvP than social at the moment because the zombies aren't dangerous enough to drive people to be social! Till they become more of a threat social interactions are going to be mostly limited to "friendly?" BANG.

This to me is bullying. If these guys were just random internet trolls I would say man up and move on. But these people exploited the fact they know you irl to fuck you over when it suited them. Just because its an online game doesnt make it ok. Get some self respect and tell these guys to go fuck themselves with a stick both in game and out.

After reloading, go to a quiet place with no zeds and a wall. Use your aim mode and back away from the wall while "shooting" the axe. This should give you an idea of the effective range. I used to confuse the puff of smoke the axe makes when it "fires" with the impact. If it doesn't "fire" when the weapon is properly reloaded (has ammo count of 999999 in top right corner) then there might be a lag or synch issue with the server.

I find it handy to know where I am at all times. I know this sounds obvious but what I mean is I don't run about daft, get lost and then try and figure out where I am. Dayzwiki has a map with all the spawn points marked. Starting from a known location is half the battle. keep track of where you are by going from landmark to landmark. Deer stands, barns etc. Of course the longer you play the more you will start to recongnise various landmarks.

I'm a hiker. I've lost every vehicle I've ever found to the server monster so i don't waste my time searching for them. Its my journeys where i experience the best dayz has to offer.

If you log out while unconscious then you automatically get a 10 min hourglass when you log back in. You either wait for it to expire or get somebody to epipen you but if you log out before its finished it goes back up to 10 mins.

The way it works for me is, somebody finds the crash site and clears it out. Then i come along. Happy days.

I think the thing with some admins on private hives is that they script with immunity. It ain't like they're gonna ban themselves is it?

I've recently started using Teamspeak after joining a new white listed private hive. I'm not all that familiar with it having used ventrillo and mumble for the last couple of years. I haven't been using the overlay as apparently some anti cheat programs throw a hissy fit. Does anybody know if its safe to use?

My PC is a beast and i still take every step and make every tweak to make my game experience run smoother. Its a good habit to get into. There's a guy called black viper who does guides on tweaking windows so it sucks less of your system resources. Every little helps. Does the audible range maybe only apply to zeds? I certainly heard makarov shots from 200m away. They were faint but audible and the zeds near me had no reaction to them.

I enabled it but it doesn't appear in game :(

I'm happy with the number of vehicles. I think most cars in any given area will be used to try and escape the zombie apocalypse so we really should only be dealing with the broken down dregs. Making them more common would practically eliminate the chance encounters in the middle of the woods that could really go either way. People would just be zipping about from heli crash to heli crash and only coming into contact in these kind of areas. Cars will be more dangerous to have in the next patch anyway. At the moment, as soon as you have a car you can ignore the zombies due to them not spawning as you drive and not being able to attack you in the car. The new patch will have zombies spawn as you drive by and they will be able to drag you out the car. Will certainly make navigating the roadblocks/debris a bit more hairy, especially in cars that aren't great off road. I would like to see a bit more variety in the type of vehicle and spawn locations. Who wants to be just another guy in a white pick up when you could have a nice land rover? The set spawn locations make it too easy for the vehicles to get hoovered up.
