Hey folks, I'm here to talk to you all about something that I hate. 24/7 Daylight servers. That's right, I know some people like it -- and I understand why... but, why!? All I see now on DayZ are server with rampant kids running around, not having to worry about it turning dark. To me that ruins a vast majority of the survival element DayZ has to offer! And I know some people are going to say "oh, well find a night time server." I tried, buddy. And you know what? They're all empty cause all you people play are cheap servers! So, why do you all play servers with 24/7 daylight? Do you find that you die less? Do you find it more fun? Cause in my opinion, personally, it ruins the point of a flashlight, night vision goggles, heat vision, and basic survival gameplay. I mean, I get a lot more of the suspense feeling from walking around at night, not knowing what's around the next corner.

Think about it... we have no fresh water supply, we've got corpses walking around, and we squat around in mud and forest in a destroyed Russia. What do you guys think?

Logically, no. In order to play DayZ you need the following: ARMA II: Operation Arrowhead ARMA II So, if you only have ARMA II on one account, you can't play on that account. If you only have Operation Arrowhead on one account, you can't play with that account either. So, in conclusion, you need both on the same individual account. Having it downloaded on the same computer does nothing if it is not registered under one name.

So let me get this straight... you're saying that you have no BattleEye, and no hackers? And you already have ALL hackers banned? That's like saying you can have sex with every woman on earth without a condom and not get an STD. Unbelievable, right?

I think that you need to prove you're over a certain age to become an admin or a founder (or any other form of authority) of a server. Quite evidently, kids being admins of servers don't mix. In fact, I believe that if you're going to be a dedicated admin to any server of any game, you shouldn't be spending your time playing said game, but instead improving it for the community beneath you. That is what an administrative figure is supposed to do. Do you see the people who created DayZ sitting on their asses playing the game for fun? No, they work their asses off fixing it for us.

After reading all the posts (before yours, at least), I was going to come back and accept that fact that people play on 24/7 day servers for the reasons they have given me. The point of this thread was not to "bitch" about people playing on day time servers, but to ask why they do. If you even bothered to read more than one sentence of the original post, you'd have understood that I've tried to find another server, all of them quite dead... but I understand that someone of your intellectual caliber isn't able to focus brain power for more than ten seconds. Anyways, this topic is just about dead - people play daylight servers because they enjoy being able to see and what not, fine. And "bro," if you really didn't care, you would've at least found a more mature way to portray that... you know, instead of flipping out on your keyboard and behind that ub3r l33t shield that is a computer screen. Good day.

I've lost all faith. The point of the darkness is for you to endure it, survive it, and enjoy the tense feeling that only night time can offer. You can do that by... a.) Simply logging out for the night. b.) Going into the cities to find some loot while most people will be unable to see you c.) Getting some friends and go be bandits Most of you might hate the idea, but dying is what makes the game fun - it's what keeps you in. If you're just being a pansy and waiting in the middle of nowhere with your UAZ and AS50, then what's the point of even playing? You have everything... now use it! Oh wait, you can't. You're afraid to die in this game. I understand that some people have their preferences which differ from others, but please, stop ushering the community to pump out more 24/7 daylight servers than is necessary. Soon, there will just be no night time at all. Then what will this game come to? Just another CoD game with a bigger map. That's what.

Hey folks, newbie here. About to buy the game once I get my paycheck tonight. Looking for some friendly (but able) people that will accept me into their possy and/or mentor me through the game ahead of time. Currently using a built-in mic, might be crappy, but will still be able to use it. I would prefer a smaller group, maybe max of five - six people or below... just easier to get comfortable.
