the server is not bad, the players failing to follow the rules are bad. i had my first taste of the server today and i must say that even with those few stray bandits in the mix, it was still quite enjoyable. i deffinetly liked the modded balota airstrip and i plan to make myself a regular there to medic around as best i can. great job with the server admins, keep it up! -
im sure its been thought about somewhere at some point but i wanted to throw this out there just in case.. what if there were individual achievements that players could accomplish? it'd certainly give players more incentive to try different aspects of the game as well as giving players more focused goal oriented playing styles. sniper kill from x amount distance x amount of kills with x weapon operate x vehicle give x amount of blood transfusions, bandages, morphines ect kill x amount of zombies set up and use x amount of tents stay alive for x amount of days and so on and so forth.. each achievement could have increased number increments as players progress so its continuous. this could also be where the leaderboards could be ENABLED instead of "temporarily disabled" on www.dayzmod.com :D im not sure how exactly it would work out in terms of being able to view / keep track of what players have achieved...buuut hey i only wanted to throw this on the table to see what everyone else thought. thanks for reading guys, ciao

honestly people.. it all comes down to what YOUR playing style is; if you enjoy the thrill of always having to watching your back and the adrenaline rush of scoping other players in your crosshairs.. then thats for you and you enjoy pvp. personally i think its a great concept that these guys are trying out and i hope it continues to pull through for them. if the style of this server just isnt for you, then by all means simply wish them luck and move along to a server that DOES suit your playing style. its not like DayZ is short on players or servers so there really isnt any harm at all in what theyre trying to accomplish here. if you dont like it or cant manage to understand what orwhy theyre doing, then dont try to understand at all. let the people who actually join in and try it out be the judges for themselves as to whether or not this server is for them. i hope this all works out for the best for you guys. happy gaming~ -

hey all have a (hopefully) simple question. i medic on a private hive server and have helped quite a few people out with blood transfusions bandages morphine ect.. but im just curious because after about a week of playing this server i still havent gotten my hero skin? im aware that the debug monitor will no longer be coming back so i cant check where my humanity is at anymore.. so correct me if im wrong on this player starts off with 2500 humanity player needs 5000 to earn the hero skin, meaning player needs 2500 more humanity each blood transfusion you give gains you 250 humanity, so you would need to give a total of 10 blood transfusions to gain 2500 more humanity, bringing you up to 5000. (250 x 10 = 2500 + 2500 default humanity = 5000) after looking at that last night i realized i should have earned the hero skin after my first night in the server from all of the patients..and still now it hasnt kicked in. is there the possibility that it's dissabled on the server i play? it doesnt make sense if so because i see bandit skins all the time.. id really appreciate a little help or insight if possible, thanks in advance everyone! that exact scenario with the enlarged GPS and after a "russia is gay" news flash across the bottom of the screen happend in the server i was playing as well. cant recall exactly what time but it was rather early.. 1-3am est? afterwards the server was terribly laggy and became unplayable. everyone slowly left if they hadnt been ping kicked already.

thats strange... i mean there have been several occasions where i was killed so i HOPE that each death didnt reset my humanity, and i havent killed anyone either so there shouldnt be any reason for it to drop. its strange to me though because i havent seen any other hero skins on the server yet and mine has yet to kick in. ill have to try it again now with this patch and see if anything happens, thank you Aigars!

cheaper solution would have been to buy combined operations pack during the steam summer sale when it was down to $17.99. however since that is long since gone you may either do what youre saying now, or wait longer and hope it comes up again in steams next sale. if youre as tight on money as you make it sound, waiting might be beneficial. its not like the game or its players are going anywhere ;)

hey everyone, just registered and wanted to get more involved with the DAYZ community.been playing the game just about since it came out and i love it. recently ive gotten more into being a medic than doing anything else and in my travels ive come accross quite a few good & bad medics. so what i wanted to do here was leave a few basic guidelines on how to be a successful medic to those who are interested. (im by no means trying to put myself out there or saying that i know everything or that im the best in the world because i dont and im not. these are all just tips and rules i follow myself and thus far have proved helpful to me) so here it is: a positive sincere and POLITE attitude towards others will get you far. come out as an a-hole and people will either ignore you or worse, put a bullet in your head and loot you. remain UNARMED! no matter how nice you are to someone in need of help, they will ALWAYS be sketched out or uneasy when you approach them with a weapon in hand. give them NO REASON at all to feel threatened and they will almost always return the favor and allow you to assist them. (i keep a hatchet on my toolbelt for between patients in anticipation of zombie troubles, its more handy than people think) - also, the space used for pistol clips is valuable bandage space. all the more reason not to carry guns. assuming side chat is enabled, (not sure why but ive been in servers where it isnt) politely announce to players in text chat, that you are a friendly unarmed medic stationed in XXXXX town/city and will offer free blood transfusions ect. to anyone close by. almost always i get a response and will meet up with the person. if not simply announce it once in a while. (more often if you hear gunshots in your area) - 70% of the time my patience will offer in return food/drink because theyre just that pleased with being helped. also - i have "[MEDIC]' in front of my name in game which is a friendly sign for players in need of help. never retaliate when being trolled in chat, just last night a player was trying to troll and then kill me. 10 minutes later that same player had gotten into a firefight and was badly injured. when i offered my help, he accepted and honest to god did not fire upon me afterwords and was greatful. people can surprise you when you give them a chance and be nice. if you are the type of medic who is keeping to a specific area to where you assist others. be sure its out of zombie reach or difficult for them to get to. also be sure that you have a good view around your location so that you can see players around you. example: i often station myself on the docks in cherno. why? docks are a safe zone where zombies CANNOT reach you. also with the ocean behind me, i only have to worry about scanning a 180 degree view of area for approaching players. always be aware of the hospitals around you. if youre not getting patients for a while, USE that time to go and loot nearby hospitals to restock your supplies. i went through 40-50 bloodbags just last night and would not have been able to do so without having known where the hospitals where. we all know how some players aren't as civilized as others, and WILL open fire upon unarmed players. if you take fire, or your patient that you are meeting is compromised, GET OUT OF THERE. continue running away and get yourself lost deep within the town to escape from the fire fight. do NOT stop to bandage yourself if youre bleeding unless you are possitive that you have escaped. if injured and need blood you can always have your next patient give YOU a blood transfusion in return. im sure they wont mind it. backpacks. whether you're armed or not, if a player sees you have a nicer backpack than them, they may get greedy and try to kill you for it. i never go any larger than an assault pack. its just enough space to store a good amount of bloodbags morphine antibiotics ect. food and water are RARELY a problem for me as most patients will often give food in return for your help. also - the less gear you have, the less upset you will feel over being killed on that rare occasion by that not so nice player. avoid large groups of players! the more players gathered in a single area, the more tension there is because most if not all of them will be armed and on edge afraid of being killed by another. all it takes is 1 gunshot from any of them to set off a chain effect massacre that youre caught and trapped in the middle of. if you are killed by a player while on duty. dont get upset over it. there will always be those who kill freshspawns or unarmed players for their own personal humor. just respawn, thank them for their bullet, and be on your way. the same goes for that one patient who decides to turn on you after assisting them. complaining or getting upset will get you nothing and nowhere. you are a medic, youre familiar with most if not all of the scenarios listed above. you know exactly why youre chosing to be a medic and you know exactly what you're chosing to get yourself into. staying possitive is the key to your success! thanks all for reading and i welcome other suggestions, the best of luck out there to all of you fellow medics! just earlier today while medic'ing in cherno, guy named "paradox" rolled in with a military URAL, unrealistically stacked with med supplies, i followed him afterwords then saw him directly in front of me spawn a helicopter outside of the firestation, i was promptly killed and kicked somehow from the server for calling him out on it. sadly no i do not have a video or ss to prove that incident. then again just 10 minutes ago in the same server i was in cherno and all of the sudden my charactor involuntarily got up from sitting, and began to run around against my will going through hoards or zombies while i was not touching mouse or keyboard. i looked at playerlist and sure enough "paradox" had come back to the server. i immediatly aborted to avoid being killed by the zombies. he then left the server right after. i would have taken a video of him doing this however to anyone watchig it, it would simply look like i was running around in circles even though i was actually NOT controlling my person.. please look into this if possible thank you

this kid just came in and did it AGAIN, took control of me and as soon as i aborted he did the same.

i was going to say that sounds rather counter-productive for a medic to do....
