Origins is pretty enjoyable. I got bored of it quickly as people could have an unlimited arsenal in their house. Definitely for a different type of player though.

Lock picking is actually really easy... I remember doing that all the time as a kid. The most memorable moment was when I locked my friend in a filing cabinet and then couldn't unlock it again. -

DayZ was only a mod created by a single guy. Now that the Standalone is a legitimate game created by a real company they can't violate copyright laws. It still bugs me that the 'Grammar Nazi' ends all of his sentences with ellipses.

As per the upcoming Dev Blog, will there be any mention of how far you are through your list of essential items? I know you have a list of ~1000 items or whatever, but are you going through it linearly so you can show the progress of it?

I actually quite enjoyed being a noob. The first gun, first car, and first sniper all felt like heaven. -
Yes, but if we are forced to spawn by them that could be a problem. I think that it would be annoying to spawn by the cities, know you don't have proper gear, then run 30 minutes to other areas to gear up (without starving/getting lost). I just wish we weren't forced to interact with the big cities until we actually decide to.

Alright, well that's cool... I just wish that we didn't spawn in or near the big cities. I feel that they should be a sought after destination, similar to the NWAF, not just a spawn-point making them necessary to visit.

I think that this will be a negative thing as too many people will linger around Cherno and Electro. I wish that the spawns were more on the east coast near Berezino. Then players would have to make the decision to head to the bigger cities to find industrial/residential loot for survival or to head to Stary/NWAF to get military gear. Right now there aren't enough reasons to hit up the east coast as you spawn near survival gear, then only need to get military gear. I think that resetting the spawns would create a much mess linear play style.

Most facts will pop up on here, his Twitter, or the DayZ Dev Tumblr first. I would expect that it will be easier to guess a release time after the internal review at the end of the month.

If you want to ruin it for yourself, watch the YouTube tutorials. If you don't want regret later, learn everything as you go alone. All of us seasoned players wish we could go back to the day where we were still figuring out how everything worked. I always wish I could go back.

The stuff like breaking every bone would require an immense amount of programming, a new player skeleton, and a ton of new hit-boxes. I feel like people should be required to take a programming class before making suggestions so that they know how much work some suggestions would be to put in. -
Or cheat sheets with notes. :P

This would get abused far too much. 99% of players would rage quit or afk after not being able to do anything for 30+ minutes, let alone hours.

A different profile will only change your names and settings. Changing a profile will not change a character (except for its name) on a server.

The 1.73 million players is a running total of people who have ever downloaded the game and played on a public hive. Nowhere does it say that this is the amount of active players. :rolleyes: Nice... 1.7 ...Looks like you're rather new here. They won't release the alpha because people like you enjoy to troll and complain. On top of that, it really isn't even in a playable state. Mr. Big 1.7 player over here missed quite a bit of the hacking that went on in the couple of months following the game getting popular and doesn't quite realize the impact of that. Thanks to Rocket and friends, most of those problems should be eliminated while we wait. Either way though, I don't care much. A better game is fine and the Mod is still keeping me busy.
