I still don't know why people keep bringing these up. So many repeat threads for wanting skill systems while almost no-one approves of them.

This is pretty common and well documented. Thanks for searching but there are other threads... I remember them, but can't find them. I'm not a tech guy, but this is what I remember. DayZ is very heavy on the CPU and doesn't always fully utilize the GPU. For this reason, you can't just have a good graphics card. Other games such as BF3/Crysis 2 spread it out better I think. This is very common for most people because cities have more zombies. Zombies use solider AI (which is why they zig zag) and this takes up a lot of processing. Especially because zombies are tied directly to your computer. For the Standalone, the zombies are going to be stripped down completely along with many other parts of the engine. This will help frames a lot. To replace it though, they are adding more players and/or more zombies. They are currently just testing or will be testing. They say the frames should be similar to DayZ Mod, but I think that there shouldn't be the drops in frames because the zombies should be fixed. So yeah, mostly the zombies, but they have stated in many interviews that this is one of the main things that they know causes bad frames and that they are working on it.

People need to stop posting this April thing. People are blowing it out of proportion. He just vaguely threw it out. What you are doing is just talking about an article that is talking about something that he said in yet another interview. This is third hand information and it is false advertising. Don't use the server browser to look. You will need to apply to their websites to get on the whitelist. Just being private isn't enough, you need a whitelist too.

Yeah, a hero skin reduces damage slightly I think. It's not karma, it's 'humanity.' I don't care much for this 'self-defense' stuff. If someone has bad intentions, they will eventually become a bandit. If they are nice they will stay as a survivor. If you have players that stick to one server, they will get a predefined role. The only reason why survivors are killing people is that they are probably new to the server and haven't gone in one direction or the other.

I love the game, and have not encountered a hacker in 3 months. Whatever you do, DO NOT join public servers. Do some research and find a private, whitelisted server to play on. Everyone complains about hacking, but that's just because they play on public servers.

You should look in this discussion area and find someone... I swear all of you 15-year-olds create your own threads that look exactly like this, and then don't notice that 20 others of you want the same thing.

Ask the server owners. How would we know?

So yeah, you were banned for hacking/owning an account that was hacking. This could be because you hacked yourself and wont fess up here, or that a malicious software program (disguised as a hack for Arma II) you downloaded on your computer stole your GUID. This means you have to, 1) contact Battleye and contest your ban or 2) buy a new copy of the game and DELETE YOUR HACKING SOFTWARE.

WarZ costs just as much as DayZ if not more depending on the package... why didn't he buy DayZ for you instead?

Use the search function. This has been brought up a ton before. I wouldn't be surprised if they added it to the SA.

It's usually a glitch... I only get it when flying helicopters though. (RIP the 4+ that have died) It doesn't mean you are cheating in any way though, just that BE thinks you did something wrong. What number of restriction is it, and what are you doing when you get kicked?

Stop bumping this thread... over half the posts are just you bumping it. If it doesn't stay up, that means it isn't that interesting and the topic should be dropped.

I think I prefer the songs that don't have lyrics. I feel that a song with lyrics doesn't fit the theme. I don't know why... It just doesn't feel right.

And you will continue to die a lot for a very long time. I love it though. I actually think some of the best parts of the game are when you first start a new character. On my current main one, I have M107, M240, M9SD, NVGS, too many tents, and more than one vehicle. And you know what? Having all of those guns is overrated. I sometimes I go onto other servers just so I can start a new character and play it again. New characters are just so fresh and fun. Every piece of gear you find feels like the best thing ever.

Yeah... I wasn't sure to make a thread about it either since it included WarZ. I do like TBs rant though. It's very true about the industry.

Just in case you are still considering... The first time hurts. It's a harsh game.
