    Uh that's the lamest hack attack video ever. Spawn to hacker in thunderdome is some week one shit dude... How about "bus box heli" or "Helicopter Swarm" Or how about getting tethered to a tractor and dragged mid air through trees.... Check out OUR videos.. http://www.youtube.c...A/videos?view=0 I have TONS and TONS more footage of attacks that have happened mid normal play... sucks but it's part of the game on public hives at this point... public hive admins have no powers.... private hives can be locked down but it takes a very active and smart admin... I have not had enough time to look into security on private hives but I know there are people working on and doing some amazing things... To the IP posters, you're no better than the hackers, you are breaking the law in order to reach your own ends without regard for the rights of others... Publicly posting people's IP's IS against the law so good luck with all that. I know of a car forum mod who got arrested and convicted (no jail time or anything just on his record as a misemeanor) and then as a result ended up losing a civil lawsuit TO A CAR THIEF (well his family).. I'll pass on posting IP's

    Introducing Cifor DayZ Servers, a small group of dedicated players (some playing the mod as far back as April). Turned server hosts, turned DayZ obsessed... Our Public Hive has been up since September. Put up the Private Hive in December but have not spent enough time cleaning up the loot tables, although we have added rare custom vehicles (see below description) like us on FB, Follow us on Twitter, and Subscribe to our Youtube channel! We Host 2 Servers (for now): DayZ US NY 2873 - Cifor NY/NJ IP: 208.167.251.208 Port: 2302 DayZ Panthera - Cifor Washingtomb DZ IP: 173.192.200.119 Port: 3323 Teamspeak: cifordayzserver.guildshout.com :9995 Channels: Chernarus Public Hive - Open Panthera Private Hive - Open Private Group Channels Setup upon Request poke an admin or post on our Facebook page. Public Hive Chernarus: Good Old Vanilla DayZ with active admins who feel your pain when there is a hack attack. The clan that started the server built up a HUGE stockpile of parts, guns, ammo, medical and then STOPPED playing on the server... I can and WILL help you out if you get hack attacked on my public server... It might not be instant or magic like on a private hive but I will walk/run/drive/or fly to somewhere near your respawn once the dust has settled and leave you SOME stuff... This is all manual so you have to be patient and not expect miracles... Private Hive Panthera: It's got Tanks and Attack Helicopters but... THEY ARE RARE... Spawn tables need to be cleaned up but that is on the back burner for right now. (ZSU-23-4 Shilka, AH-64 Apache, UH60m and a some HMMWV's) As these vehicles are VERY overpowered they are VERY RARE, and most if not all require repair... In the future we will mod them slightly to make them not quite so destructive... You can level a town (big town) with any one of them)... but again... good luck finding one! Little Teaser for those who have read all the way through.... We're developing and will soon be releasing a BRAND NEW MAP PORT! We will be hosting it exclusively for now but other server hosts are welcome to PM me if they interested in more detail.

    You sent me an email this morning to which I replied IMMEDIATELY... you waited HOURS to send me another emotional LONG WINDED email INSTEAD OF JUST YOUR FREAKING GUID LIKE I ASKED.... I ONLY logged into the freaking forums to responsibly ensure I updated my ban list thread where your GUID is listed... I pay for this goddam server and have NO time to play on it, or ANY other server, much less the custom map port that we've just completed building... How goddam impatient, ungrateful, and entitled can you freaking people be... Despite all your attempts to make it impossible I've already lifted your ban.

I almost think they set it up as store or something... WHy would you spend 1hr building a HUGE supply of crap you can't poss. use that day much less in a month.... Anyway... Re Shameless plug... LOL No matter what the hacker does or doesn't do you don't post people's IP's it's childish... a LOT more so than calling someone a moron who defends the mob justice mentallity and then makes some sort of insinuation that I as an American am clearly the one who must be aggressive... You are a total fucking moron... I'm not hurling insults I'm describing your intelligence level. I'm not trying to hurt your feelings I'm pointing out the ludicrous level of STUPIDITY in your logic of posting people's IP's... OH AND to top it off... you are clearly a SUPER L337 IT manager and DayZ admin who has NO CLUE what rogue anti hax is or what it's based on or how to prevent it or what it is even doing on your server or how to prevent yourself from dying when it's run... and to save all the players on your server... yup you are the man... You know plenty about what someone could do with another persons IP obviously... which is why it's SOOO intelligent for you to advocate putting them out despite it also being against the board rules....

    Looking for a good server

    Cifor in your filter... 1 Chernarus Public Hive IE no 24hr daylight 2 Panthera Private Hive 24hr Daylight We will have some more servers soon enough... and we are not shuttering the public hive server until the public hive closes... at which point we will make ALL efforts to seamlessly to a community hive that user "FiX" is either working on or has already developed... I haven't had the time to look into it... we're developing a new map port.... The Panthera server is relatively customized but not very thoughtfully or well for now... here's a link to our forum posting here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/120720-introducing-cifor-dayz-servers/ We may or may not keep up the Panthera Private hive, it's not getting much traffic but I haven't advertised it very well and don't really want to yet as I haven't customized it the way I want yet.... so it doesn't give a good impression of how we run our servers/projects... Right now our focus is getting a beta release of our map port out by the weekend.... If you like us on FB I MIGHT be able to coordinate making it easier to play on our (or any public) nighttime server (I have extra NVG's and my whole squad stopped playing on the public hive).... I don't like offering free gifts and what not but I feel your pain about not being able to play on public servers in your own timezone where the pings aren't going to kill the play... Also our server is really only DARK DARK between 530-8 after 8-9 the moon is up and it's usually totally playable even without gamma/brightness turned up... I leave my daytime settings on all the time playing on there at night.

    It's not about "turning the other cheek" it's about the fact that if you as a clearly ignorant admin, post someone's IP... and it's SPOOFED... or it's their neighbor's.... SOMEONE who DOES know what they're doing could literally hack the crap out of that IP's personal computers and end up RUINING SOMEONE'S REAL ACTUAL LIFE.... IT IS A FUCKING GAME YOU MORON.... If you take it that seriously, stop playing and go see a therapist.... If you're an admin on a car forum and some dude comes in and posts " HAHAHHA I stole your car" and is 100pct serious... YOU CAN NOT POST THEIR F'ing IP on the internet.... You call the cops... This is a video game not even actual REAL personal property... so lighten up and get a grip on reality.

    The IP's should be removed because you don't need to get their address from it, you can access their computer most likely and find out/steal/break whatever you want if you know what you're doing... so no matter how you feel about it it's not OK to post people's IP's... To the folks talking about making hackers pay... please read this VERY closely: IT IS A GAME It's not ok to post the address or IP of a person you KNOW stole your car in real life... so it's certainly not OK to do the same for someone who killed you or bothered you in a GAME... Lets get a grip on reality here.

    I don't have the time to through all of this but some of the statements you make are flawed. The vehicle ID position and contents are all stored server side, the hive only checks to see if the allowed number of vehicles are there which it screws up on a lot and they have to go through and run a script to remove duped stuff and illegal set pieces (cargo crates, ships, thunderdomes etc)... SOMETIMES you can get away with shutting the server down for a couple minutes and restarting it and upon reconnecting with the hive it detects banned items and removes them but it does not clean out the duped tents or the duped unbanned vehicles.... Public hive vehicles are server side, for example the UH1 has 5 or however many possible locations on a public hive server in chernarus, but on each server they spawn in the same spot EVERY time they get destroyed... Originally due to the spawn chance percentage you weren't guaranteed to EVER have one spawn, and if it did and no one accessed it that day it did not become get stored as existing on your server... someone had to save the vehicle... so it would be gone after the next restart and it would be a throw of the dice every restart after that as to whether or not it would spawn again....Only when it's been accessed and manually saved by a player did it save as a persistant vehicle. Then again it's location is stored on the server... that's why only gear transfers from server to server in the public hive not vehicles and tents.... ONLY player location and equipment and health are stored in the Public Hive... The rest of it just checks to ensure that the server's DB isn't corrupted with banned items. Banlist is spotty, BUT I have a good feeling that "Doc" is going to keep Banzlist going and keep it improving... so there are two resources and one that is VERY active.... MUST GET BACK TO WORK....

    Recvd and I'm really excited to have a chat with you... I'll pm you our new TS details in the next day or two, we have to get this current project done. I'm not the DB expert but I've floated my ideas to the guys I'm working with who are a little more familiar with bliss and DB's in general and they understand my concept and think it will work... although to be honest if bliss doesn't work well with my idea I have a feeling it will go bye bye and take it's problems with it... My idea will make server and client side installs/mods/ and some other stuff MUCH more streamlined which generally means it will be adopted... it's not a replacement or a competitor to them or what you've got going with the universal public hive though.... I can't be sure again, the guys who know enough to really think out my idea and myself are all focused on our current project. Only reason I'm being evasive about details is that it is something that could be monetized without stepping on anyone's toes and I think once the concept is out someone smarter than me could do it EASILY... This is something that ANYONE reading who is moving forward with their own projects (whether it's open source project or retail license) for: Banlists Administrator tools Database Structures Map Porting Existing Map Customization Should PM me and next week (hopefully pending completion/release of our project) I will give out some TS details where we can discuss some things.... I might be done with my portion earlier but we have to do testing to so it depends on the turn around for that to be possible.
  15. OK... so I see like 20 posts a day from different people either asking what they should set up on their new server, or introducing their new server... How many of you guys are going to be around when standalone comes out? How many of these servers are going to get dropped within a month or two?? Does anyone have any idea how long the dev team plans on supporting the mod? I'm going to be frank, I'm so in love with this mod I have almost NO intention of buying the standalone or hosting a server for it (I might just for continuity's sake) but I LOVE the mod and personally will spend lots of my own money to make sure that our servers stay up for as long as they can... How many others are this serious? I'm just curious. I know I for one will be running our Public Hive Chernarus server until the public hive is gone. I'd like to see some moves to consolidate the community in the future. There are 20+ public Chernarus servers that are trying to enourage PvP or squadplay... Or 50+ private hives doing the same thing, or friendly servers on either side.... Why not just start pooling resources to increase the player counts on fewer servers??? On the hosting end of it, dayz.st, gameservers.com, etc etc... what will they do when people start dropping server subscriptions? Keep the servers up until it becomes clear they have to be switched to another game or what?

    I hear you on that one... I"m going to hold out till the end... I figure everyone playing on the public hive knows the risks. My regulars know that if they get totally boned I will help them out personally... The clan that I started the servers with looted the map all by our selves for AGES before it got populated to any degree... so we already had a HUGE stock pile of tents with weapons, ammo, medical, equipment... then they ALL stopped playing out of frustration.... I got left admin'ing and basically don't play on the server either anymore other than to check out hack attacks, make sure nothing is f'd up. and to help out regulars.... I've dropped (not like private hive lol... walk/run/drive/fly) ATV's or tents for some of my regulars who I KNOW have been killed during a weekend hack attack... for the most part it's been working out ok... I think I have to advertise it more... put it in the scroll... I love this game so much I gave up playing it to help the community. It makes me nuts sometimes but in the long run w/o people dedicating hours and hours of their own time this mod would have burned to the ground MONTHS ago... I like being one of the good guys... and I sucked at the action pvp crap in Chernarus anyway, I was always too trusting or in scavenge mode... I can pvp when I log into a high pop server and it's what I'm looking for, but on the public hive I don't think I've killed more than 2 people ever? Number might increase if we count what I lovingly refer to as "helicopter training week" and you count people who were dumb enough to get in with my flying... "Like a brick John"... I can play all I want on private hives when I find the time.... which is never lol.

    Who's your host? you should be able to back up the install via FTP and then re-install it on another machine, the server stored vehicle and tent info will stay and the public hive info is transferred naturally as players log in to your new machine/ip... So long as the install folder structure is the same it should be copy and paste... if the folder structure is different you just point the launcher's file references to the new paths.... There is someone now working on a variant of the public hive that functions with multiple DB structures and hosts... I am going to start discussing with him about some ideas that might get that to catch on a little faster... I think if my idea will work, which it should, it will make utilizing a central hive structure (likely his) a no brain'er and any hosting company or mod with any clue how messed up things are now will jump all over it... That is on next weeks agenda though... for now... off to place vehicles... somewhere no DayZ admin ever has DOT DOT DOT (like in poetry)

    Yeah all that already exists for private hive admins... You can make it so literally if ANYONE on the server who even trys to run ANY hack dies immediately and is banned... Private hive security is only a problem if no one puts the effort into hashing out all the tools and options available... With some of the tools out there someone with some serious logic coding experience could make an "auto admin" program that would make VERY few errors... there are already ones out there that spoon feed admins with a constant read/interpretation of the DB LIVE... The built in tools for admins on most servers are OK.. but if you DB access there are 3rd party tools out there that give you TOTAL control and reduce the workload tons... When I finish the first phase of our current project I will start going through all the options available and do a LONG post about the merrits and faults of each one... If I can get my head around everything and my friend will get involved in the project I think we could make one that would basically AI admin.. and it shouldn't be that hard... Cheaters are not very smart and their behaviors don't vary very much. MORE ON TOPIC... I think I have a viable idea for a true public hive moving forward if the DayZ Team decides to drop the public hive... I'm not going to get too into details about the idea, but if anyone is interested in helping out (it will be a decently big project) and wants to hear a LITTLE more PM me. I think this could be the solution not only to public hive but to a LOT of problems that are tied to the different DB structures and Map ports in general... It will make customizing every level of the server/DB/map/spawns VERY easy and allow for drastically different takes on every map depending on what the individual server admin wants... It should also DRASTICALLY reduce the time for all the DB structures to support addition of new map ports, and client installs....

    It's funny I posted this and have had numerous regrets for keeping the public hive I have running... it's too much work with no help at this point... BUT I'm going to keep my word and our Public Hive will be up until the actual official public hive is down. We also have a private hive Panthera server that I can't seem to get any traffic on at all... And I'm working on a new map port that I think will be VERY exciting... Anyone other hosters have input? How many Official Public Hive Servers are there?

Come Check it out LOTS of custom vehicles (placement is not so great right now but there are LOTS and 2 tanks (any more would be bad until I can customize the spawn ammo qtty) You can destroy an entire town with a fully repaired/loaded tank. Not sure if I'll keep them or not... It's NOT littered with them or the heli's but there are a lot. Some early joiners have sequestered a LOT so you might have to take to the hills to find any... Survivor loadout (everything to survive and navigate but no weapon) Binos, 2 bandages, painkillers, Map, Compass, Knife, Matches. Prob. going to add a water bottle so it's an option to run to the woods and survive once you get a hatchet and/or weapon... OR you can try to risk it repairing an attack heli or tank and see how much damage you can do... Open to suggestions for now but it IS on the backburner for now we are working on a super cereal project....     I like the unified idea but making everyone use Bliss is silly IMO. I'm only just getting into the backend of things but as far as I can see Bliss isn't by any means the best possible or maybe even available. I don't really know enough to judge at this point though. I think it is important to have all the server host "public" hives unified so they are actually public hives for each map. Maybe the map creators can set up a public hive schematic that ALL the hosts can then integrate... However I think the problem is some hosts use different Hives enable installs on their servers... I'm working with someone on porting a map now, we're almost done with the map, loot, zombie, and vehicle spawns, have the extra building drops mapped out just have to line them up... Next step will be to start working on supporting the various hives ourselves... One HUGE problem we're running into is that with all the different client side install options it's pretty hard to make a unified install package... Steam, Disk, DL, Demo Arma2OA Direct Install, Six Updater, Play with Six, DayZCommander... due to all those different install options there are literally 20 different ways you have to install the client side... it's REALLY stupid IMO... It also ruins the quick key switching for those of us that have dl'd PMC and BAF... Paid 20 bucks to lose the ability to hot switch characters... AWESOME...

    Community Banlist

    If you have been recently added to the CBL chances are not only was it not a false positive but it's been reviewed by BE and you'll be getting a Global Ban soon. The OLD CBL bans are the ones w/o proper documentation. The New bans they take their time and ensure there is evidence... I don't now how actively it's being updated or checked on though... I have already been updating the banz list as well to my server, but I believe I will now become a member, Doc the guy who runs it has contributed a great deal to the community and seems to take this role VERY seriously. Hopefully it does not end up in the state CBL is right now... where it's being looked at and updated but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to when in what order or why. I have submitted several recently that include logs of chat with the players DISCUSSING THE HACKS THEY ARE RUNNING and they have NOT been acknowledged or added to the list yet. And that was 2-3 weeks ago (when I posted above) that I posted them... I've given up on trying to report bans, The ticket system for official hives is gone or unattended CBL is either poorly or not updated... BanZ seems to be the only one under active development and updates. Also this is not where to ask to be removed from the CBL. So read some of the posts above yours the answers you seek are on every page of this thread and stickied in the parent forum

    All I know is I've updated these scripts and ran them all and there is almost NO increase in auto kicks/bans or reduction in cheating... How are people dropping cars with specific inventory in game, desintegrating building? PLEASE take the time to check out some of the videos I've posted on YouTube... Me server gets ASS RAPED every weekend in new and interesting ways it makes it pointless for a legit player to try building up a base or fixing vehicles because they will all be gone or destroyed come monday morning... I'm really not trying to bitch but I don't understand this stuff enough and feel that the documentation and reporting system SUCKS really bad, On top of that we are FORCED on a public hive to run BE which IMO is not NEARLY as effective as a responsible admin counter-hacking... I got global banned for using a tool to get myself unclipped through a wall while testing a new release (and that was only because I ran it wrong or it was a 3rd party CD theft tool I have NO idea) ON MY OWN SERVER WHEN NO ONE ELSE WAS ON... NO ONE was killed NOTHING was destroyed or spawned in... I moved from inside a closed off room I clipped through (dismount bike animation clipped me through a wall to a un-enterable building)... I teleport 2 meters so I can keep testing a Build release THE NIGHT IT WAS PUT OUT... so I'm sure my players will not have major issues... and I get global banned. For the record the "tool" I was using was "local only" IE I can't even spawn in crap that will stick or other people can use.. it ONLY affects me... yet every weekend I go running around the map someone has spawned in SUV's (not even allowed in chernarus) or helicopters flying around surrounded by a box of buses... or nukes, or AI "helicopter swarms".... NONE of which have so much as a hint to their existence in ANY of the logs that I can find... The ONLY thing that makes catching hackers easy in the logs for me is: 1. Complete shitheads who type talk about hacking like above 2. They are dumb enough to blow up TONS of stuff... I know for a fact that several players TP ALL AROUND the map but it doesn't get caught by any of your logs nor do they get kicked... Again a lot of this is MY fault as I haven't taken the time to go through all this logging, scripting, and interpreting... I add on average 5 bans a day based on what I find in the logs, but it takes a LOT of combing through and work, and I KNOW that not only am I missing a LOT of hackers. I'm fairly sure I'm COMPLETELY missing the MOST SERIOUS ONES... I know it's long but PLEASE take the time to watch all 3 parts... THIS is what legit admins are facing and having to do in order to figure out whats going on... I nearly died 3-4 times having to RUN down to Elektro because I don't have 1/10th of the power that a hacker does on my own server... I am more than happy to provide you with logs and details regarding what script/log files I had running at the time... but agin ZERO entries... That 45min. video for ONE hacking incident took: 2hrs of running 1hr of running around the town seeing WTF had happened 1hr of reviewing logs trying to see if the two guys were logged in any way I would have noticed if I wasn't on or reading the console log 2hrs of video editing to try to show how impossible it is for a caring admin to have ANY control or order on a public hive I'm not trying to beat you or BE up. But you guys can't keep blaming DayZ and DayZ can't keep blaming you... And we as admins of public hive servers are left with 2 options... 1. Watch the public hive burn in front of our eyes despite our love for it 2. Give up and walk away /rant. And on a side note I want to be clear how much I do understand what a difficult task you're faced with... however I think BE and DayZ can come up with a VERY simple system to solve this... Admins can't get or kill on their own servers and they can't be banned on their own servers...that CAN NOT be a hard thing to impliment... Shit even if it's done on the honor system the GOOD admins could sniff out the bad one's in a jiffy.... We make a list of the remaining public hives, who is admin'ing them and then start dealing with that i/o trying to ban every hacker in the universe that can just get another CD key for free or dirt cheap... Admins left standing can split duties of keeping the un-claimed or hacker friendly public hive servers up and safe.... Keep in mind this suggestion would likely either force me out of control of my own server or force me to accept outside help as currently I am the ONLY active admin for BOTH of our servers... the private hive is all but empty so it's not much work... but the public hive is absorbing WAY too much of my time w/o help and with the way hackers are dealt with now. I know that you are employed by BE only, but you are the main contact between BE and DayZ no? Pretty sure DayZ Dev team would be happy to hand over Public Hive issues/security to a community group.. it's all but been stated.... and I can't imagine you like having to be one of a small group reviewing THOUSANDS of daily hack reports coming out of this game ONLY... I think that BE focusing on logging if the Admins are cheating, then the Admins focusing on getting rid of cheating players.... we will end up with a MUCH MUCH cleaner playing field VERY shortly...
