I was going to make a relevant post to this topic but by the time I read to this page either I am: a) - 12 years old and my attention span issues mean I am now tossing off while borrowing Orlok's notebook b - 40 years old and my mental faculties are failing me and kids these day eh what was I here for again? Snap, I spent about £1400, and it was worth every penny (though it took about 6 months to save up for it). Stepping up from a laptop means DayZ now looks gorgeous :)

There are so many great games out at the moment, the Mod is still going and yet I'm on constant alert for the release of the alpha. I am glad they are spending time now making sure it's playable and stable. The shitstorm after buggy pointless release would be like the war to end wars. It's funny to think I've been watching this play out since August 2012 and how I will miss the anticipation and the occasional impatience once it's finally out there. I actually sorted myself a decent PC solely because of my love of this game.

I took my girlfriend to Epping Forest a couple of Sundays ago (no, not to murder her and bury her in a shallow grave). We were mushroom (of the non magic variety unfortunately) picking with a couple of lads from Bilbao (Baques love their mushrooms apparently). Don't get the chance to leave London often but we're lucky to be blessed with an abundance of parks and trees in this city.

I'm okay with this new feature. To be honest there's a lot of servers that don't have the PVP thing going on, it's just a case of finding them. PVP servers can be spotted in the description and PVP-mentality servers can usually be spotted by the shitty conversations in sidechat pretty quickly. I've spawned into Elektro a few times now and not had any bother. I've always liked going through Elektro, up past the dam and then deciding whether to head NE or NW. I met one guy yesterday in the fire station, we were both armed and neither of us shot. I got him to blood bag me and then we went our separate ways. Anyway, I've gone off my point. Don't worry, find a decent server, they do exist, I promise :) Oh and the timer idea, agree!

Apparently its the same server where someone has been impersonating jack frags. According to his latest vid people are pretending to be him and charging money to kids to play with an imposter... and promptly get blocked and lose their cash. Poor bloke has had to field contact from some unhappy parents. That's nasty. Though why anyone would want to pay for the privilege is beyond me, and how anyone could fall for it well I suppose we all know someone who aint too savvy with the old interweb thingymabob

I can see the life coach my company recently employed to 'motivate' the workforce. :| 'Embrace change' was pretty much the whole day summed into one sentence. Probably cost a bomb to pay for that when a free bar would have sufficed. Anyway, that's the problem with these threads, it's a human thing, some like change, some want things to stay the same, and all are equally passionate. I like Dean and co.'s vision for DayZ and hope he stays on that path.... and while I think the trend for pay to play is kind of ridiculous...there are people like ShoSho out there trolling the guys who pay to spawn with DMR, NVGs, yeah the mre I think about it, they are quite ridiculous, (like the gaming equivalent of scabs is what I would say if I was being tough).

There aren't any safe zones in Origins at all from my experience. I did play on a PVE Origins server for a while until they passworded it. Is this something from Warz maybe you're thinking of? Or another mod?

I would just say this: I was in a similar position last year. I asked myself last October what should I do. I finally had a machine I could use for the DayZ mod and yet I was under the impression the SA would be out in December (2012, yes I was a little naive on that score). I'm an impatient twat sometimes, therefore I went with the Mod. I'm glad I did.

We should have 4th person. The one who laughs their arse off over people getting shitty about how they think others should play the game. Yes, I'm being offensive but maybe if you play in 5th person Jean Paul Sartre will come along and accuse you of being too real. This post doesn't exist <_<

Thought this was ripe for graveyard going by the title, it might yet still get there though :D

The last few months I've only been playing for 2hrs at a time due to my laptop doing strange things (I will have a new desktop tomorrow after months of saving) but I've been on many servers and not had any experience with the scripters, it's like it has all gone quiet. Mind you saying that is probably like a red rag to a bull :lol: Except in this case the bull is replaced by a teenager with penis size inferiority problems

Spent two hours finding parts and repairing an SUV in Taviana today, first thing I do when I start driving it around Byelov and hit into one bollard is immediately explode and die. That character had been going for months. This has happened many many times and will continue to happen many times. Failing, and how you deal with it, is what this game/mod is all about :D

You just get kicked out, no penalties or anything bad happens :thumbsup:

I think I'll go along with the 'AWESOME' rating, brilliant work mate!
