If anyone tries to canvass me while in dayz they get a bullet in the eye, I really hope there's no politics in the SA. My mate went to Vietnam recently, said it was nice, friendly people and all that. They should do a vitnam map with some mad old temples and stuff. Always finding stuff in my pockets, like my hands, my hands are big I've got big hands. My hands are lazy but the lines aint dead, so I won't miss them. Making as much sense as this thread right now lol

Would say it's a case of 'trial and error' mate. If you hop around for a bit you'll find a decent server. It's worth saying 'hi' when you first spawn as the replies you get will help guage whether the server survivor population is decent or full of 'wankers'. Other than that, have a look in the private hive forum. And good luck! :D

Being a bit of a punk rocker (wish I'd be born 10 years earlier sometimes) I like to listen to Poison Idea or even a bit of Conflict when I'm racing through the wilderness on my own. If I'm sitting down for a campfire to cook some meat and get myself warm I might play something from the Congos, nice and mellow like. I'm pretty sure we'd have to go back to the walkman and cassettes in our batteries-only future so I'd get taping now if I were you! Here's my DayZ Island Discs: 1. Dead Kennedys 2. Poison Idea 3. Blitz 4. Conflict 5. Cockney Rejects/Sparrer 6. The Congos 7. Hugh Mundell 8. King Tubby/Lee Perry 9. Ramones 10. Motorhead I pity my travelling partner, but what do you/would you listen to?

I've played the game on public and private for two months almost daily and have come across strange things going on maybe three times. By strange things goings on I mean a guy who wouldn't die; a fire burning over all of cherno; and a guy killing me after he miraculously walked unscathed from a chopper as it crashed right in front of me. Haven't got upset about it but I imagine if it was happening more frequently it would soon start to test my patience. I also often ask in sidechat when I join a server if things are cool, that does seem to help.

We will grow our own beans brothers and sisters. Self sufficiency is the only way to go (with a good dose of mutual aid of course). :D

Cue: Yeah, but what kind of doughnut (or is it donut)? Does it have a hole in the middle? Is the filling purple? Come on we gotta know these things! :D

Some great replies, and haven't had to roll my eyes too much at some tastes in music lol In fairness to those that prefer no music at all I have a policy, and it goes like this: If I'm in a busy server I do not play anything at all music-wise. The random snapping of twigs is all the sound I need to hear. If I'm in a server which is not populated I relax out and do some hunting and cooking to some nice music. It's kind of my chill out time after work. When I want some action though, the music is off, need my wits about me and off I go. This community rocks and (not in a boy band kinda way lol) :D

Interesting point of view but you lost it a little calling folk cowards, as that doesn't really make any sense. Common sense isn't cowardice.

If you're new I'd just recommend going with the flow. All your experiences should be wonderful, good or bad, because they're all new experiences. I still get excited running along the coast with just a bandage and painkillers. Been playing a coupla months so I'm a noob too. Also, I use a private hive for hoarding stuff in my tents or sorting out vehicles and friendships; and I use public servers for my action adventures. Night time adds even more to the experience but I understand it's a pain when you're new. You can filter DayZ Commander so it shows only daytime servers by the way. Have fun! :)

I've only been playing DayZ and using this forum for a couple of months so I imagine topics like this are a bit groundhog day for our dear old mods. We're all soooo precious in't we eh? :rolleyes:

With the clear love of beans going on in this game some of our cold starry campfires in the forest must resemble something out of Blazing Saddles :lol:

If you troll it's because you're a troll, troll. :P I first came across DayZ in a seananners vid funnily enough and then it wasn't until maybe August/September that I found Frankie and Jack's vids. Quite like em meself. So, what's the beef with frankie? I occasionally see negative references about him. Other than the 'does he? doesn't he?' hack soap opera of course. Cheers.

Dunno about the homophobic language mate but 30 shots prob means he either wasn't much of a sniper or maybe he was aiming for zombies to protect you. Either way you survived, well done. :thumbsup:

Hate losing matches too. Funny how some things in this game would frustrate me in others... but in this game I love the frustrations. Some weird masochistic thing going on I suppose lol.

This server has just been abused and I have a couple of questions. How and what details do I record if I need to contact server admin? I have good ping for UK, Spanish, French, Dutch and German public servers, anyone know which get attacked least? Cheers
