We have nothing to do with epoch at all.

The assets directory is pretty old most of the stuff in that we are already using or plan to use at some stage. If im not mistake the models for the fish and fishing pole came from epoch with full permission.

we don't control other launchers we recommend everyone to use steam.

We are in the middle of setting up an automated process to assist in patch releases on steam. Yesterdays part release didn't go as planned so for now we recommed everyone stay on the stable 1.8.4.1(opt out of betas) or the development branch on steam. Until we can correct the issues with this process. Thanks

ok so 1.8.5 has been released on steam under the beta branch but its pretty useless for most players until we can work out whats going on with the updates so they always stay the same in a simple format of development and stable i'm going to pull the 1.8.5 update thread until i get some more notice from Eugen on whats going on with steam. Make sure to opt out of all betas unless your using the development branch. Stable release's should be version 1.8.4.1 (opt out of betas) or Development branch should be version Dev-725ecb9 (development! - public dev branch) Sorry guys this is out of my hands. -
With 1.8.5 admins have much more control over the zeds they can control the damage and the distance they attack at until we can find some good numbers.

The latest version of dayzmod can always be found on steam its one of the best ways to keep your mod upto date and if you fancy trying the development version before its hits final release you can also do this in steam.
