I'm sorry what? The bug I referred to in the first quoted comment was that of every single item becoming damaged upon being shot. It had nothing to do with location whatsoever. -

From what I gather it's a conscious design decision rather than a technical limitation; with the chances of being shot in the pockets are quite low, thus negating the implementation of the mechanic as a deterrent to shoot on sight. In some situations, compromises have to be made with game design taking precedence over realism. -

Dean has clarified that this was a bug post dev blog, and made sure to stress during the dev blog that the damage values were far from final. -

The restraint system is simply another gameplay option, of which we can never have enough of imo. With the ability to struggle out of said restraints, how is it any different to "a clan of 12 year olds" holding a gun to your head at the moment, or knocking you out and detaining you in the dragging animation? It's an extra dynamic when you consider things such as forced blood transfusions and the like...perhaps some buggery (if you're into that sort of thing). -

In all fairness, if you get shot in real life or attacked by a disease human, I'd assume you'd come out of the encounter looking pretty rough. I'm glad they're not going the route of - >get shot >hide in cover until your health regenerates -

I'm confused  You're talking about weapon degradation when the dev blog didn't showcase that at all, nor did I mention it. Did you meant to quote me? -

Well a bandit surely wouldn't be getting all his "goodies" from shooting bambis with the new system that's for sure ;) -

The whole idea of it is as a deterrent to those that just shoot on sight... From your post I gather that you fall into that bracket. There are other ways to "get people's things", hence the hope that an economy will form and bartering will become a thing. As a "last resort", there's always the new restraint system. This isn't a shooter. -

Would love this too but I know it adds exponentially to computational cost, thus may not be entirely feasible. Especially with 100+ player servers. -

 The sole point I was making is that even the in the mod the zombies are completely borked, yet it's received widespread recognition and acclaim. So your sarcasm about releasing the alpha as is, with the zombie redevelopment is unwarranted. Also, you were wrong btw, claiming that both zombies and network bubble were holding back the alpha release. Thought you'd be more humble after you got all up on Fraggle's arse for being "wrong" earlier -

Meh, I'd be perfectly content if it was just a "survival game", no zombies, nothing. Doesn't really bother me either way. It was the player interaction that drew me to the game in the first place and none of my best experiences in the game have involved zombies. If I wanted a zombie shooter I'd boot up Dead Rising or L4D. The zombies in the mod are barely working and yet the game has amassed quite the following... Says a lot really. -

Zombies aren't delaying the alpha. He's said that countless times. He did say however, that should zombie performance not be optimised by the network bubble, then they're going to have to try something else. The zombies (animations/pathfinding) are not the reason. -

And you'd be upset at that why exactly? :| It's quite apparent that you, your buddy Leon and a lot of other kids would complain about the state of the zombies if the alpha was released right now anyway. Pretty much a lose-lose situation for Dean. -

The mod is so popular because of the premise; an open world with no rules and a focus on player interaction. The could replace the zombies with monkeys on unicycles for all I care, it wouldn't change squat. I fail to see how adding tools to the sandbox will have an adverse effect? The majority of complaints about the mod is that there's nothing to do.. -
