"it means if you want to shoot someone and you now don't have a cross hair, your going to have to aim down the sights so that's going to be a key focus on what we want to do" since the majority voted for removing crosshairs also..it seems obvoius that they decided to do so "and because of some of the changes to first and third person (you aren't going to be able to change between first and third person as quickly now as you will have to go into your menu to change that) " clearly stated for me that changing personal view will not work on the fly any longer... but maybe I am totally wrong :P -

if they have to keep 3rd person for different reasons they have to equalise the advantages people have playing in 3rd person like looking around corners and behind walls and fences for example -

crosshairs will be removed entirely but they will keep 3rd person view in the game. Without crosshairs people using 3rd person will have to switch to 1st person view if they want to aim and shoot properly. This will not work on the fly but by going into the options..... -
pretty excited about writing notes, letters and books ( maps??) ingame (one of my big hopes), finding background lore about the virus, having radios and maybe even a whisper chat...this will be sooooooo immersive...hopefully this will prevent a lot of people from using skype or teamspeak ....

go and play the game that shall not be named if you like it quick and unsatisfying....I would not mind if it comes out even in June..I will play (maybe mod) it for years..so talking about a few weeks seems really pointless... -

these ARE of course miltary tents....logically the miltary would build evac centers, field hospitals and check points in case of an outbreak....I don't think we will find many weapons in there but the place will be swarmed by infected :)

porting the game to a new engine and improving and optimizing this engine for their needs - done removing all unnecessary stuff from the mod and improving models and animations - done extending, improving and fixing the game world (chernarus plus) - done making all buildings enterable - done creating a complete new client server structure- done creating a complete new item system ( items being entities) - done reworking the hud and improving the controls - done creating a complete new loot spawn system - done creating a complete new inventory system and implemented player clothing - done Zombies are currently beeing worked on ( Matt Lightfoot stated this in his interview) and since they finished working on the inventory there are free resources now to do so even faster (done = in some cases basically done for the first release) beside this...the ToH engine will provide a new weather sytem ...new items and wepons are confirmed even for the initial release...a background lore for the virus has been written...map developers are still improving Chernarus..texture artists are improving the look of in and exteriors, plans have been made for a complete new medic and desease system...new creatures are in the work....etc etc etc now add all the other stuff that has to be done and organized for such a project and think of all the bad stuff that happened like the waz crap or the shit with Martin and Ivan during this time.... maybe also take in account that BI is not Bethasoft.... six months since the SA was announced ...what the fuck is wrong with you people ???? -

probably things are going better than expected atm and now with the inentory being done Jirka is now free to concentrate on the Zombie stuff....the zombie overhaul is one basic thing that should to be done for the initial release ( at least in my eyes) ...if they now have the chance to even get it done before the test...great....sometimes planes have to be changed for the better... -

I think it is casual gameplay and hacking which in fact supports this stupid shoot on sight pvp cod gameplay..most of the time I am killed by hackers, snipers, hacking snipers and cod kiddy noobs which kill me with their AK using the crosshair stalking me in 3rd person first.... having less military loot..less ammo..having to deal with maybe an infection (shivers etc) jamming guns, no batteries for your night vision googles, more dangerous zombies and NO Crossahair will stop a lot of people from starting a firefight for no reason....also a lot more shots will miss without crosshairs so that you have a chance to escape, take cover or fight back... cheers

oh...in this case will we be able to unquip our guns ? ...sorry could not resist... :) back to topic + 1 for removing the crosshair...I mean ...we will probably have jammed guns etc in the SA later on..this does not go very well with casual stuff like crosshairs...

yep carrying car wheels , jerry cans or a heavy MG should defenetely slow you down...if chased by a hord of infected you would have to drop stuff to escape....or kill them all... -

the problem is the missing ragdoll and the "not so good" collision model in arma 2...even if you could do a simple jump animation you would not be able to jump over or on top of most statics like walls or cars until they fix it ...flanking small walls and fences is in the game already and does not work in your vid or in most of other cases because of the bad collision. I am not against jump anims in general but I would prefer to see more immersive stuff like wall jumps or combat rolls...btw such stuff could really help to escape the new and faster infected :) ... and not...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzo4lhFco3Q -

jump animations look like shit in most games and having them would result in bunny jumping idiots I fear...what I would prefer is the abilty to jump from small roofs without breaking your legs maybe including a combat roll and wall jumps like in the smk mod...animations can be seen on page 29 of this thread...
