and again here comes the fanboy :/ Tigerhaswood did not ask for a lesson about how bugfixing works...he was talking about the current state of the game...and the current state simply is buggy, unpolished and unballanced as fuck ! We all know that the devs working hard on fixing the game for their planned 1.0 release and we all are hoping for the best but as it looks right now the game is in an horrible not playable state ! As far as it goes for Zeds...calling them rightfully trivial is honestly the biggest bullshit that I've ever read here on the forums. Everybody his mother and their goat knows that the Zombie/Infected aspect of this so called Zombie Survival game sucks. Deans idea of the infected was heavily inspired by 28 days/weeks later and I would absolutely recommend to watch these movies to get an idea of how infected should look like and how scary and dangerous they should be.... If done right we would not even need large numbers of the infected especially since this would require a complete different more Romero style type of Zombies. For me it seemed since the very beginning that there is no one in the dev team that is really into the whole Zombie thing :/ theyare implemeting them because...they have too..that's it. And yeah some music at least when beginnig or ending the game would be cool...the soundtrack of the mod was really iconic btw so +1 from my side

In short...will it be allowed and/or even possible to edit the Chernarus+ map? In Arma 3 its is at least possible to use the 3dEditor to add and hide stuff.

Yeah thx I was hoping for something like an official 3d editor. I would like to create a border region mod just for the sake of immersion :) No need for terrain heightmap editing, just adding and maybe hiding some objects. cheers

Was killed by a wolf pack near Altar 5 minutes ago :) They attacked me out of the nowhere, killed two with my shotgun, missed three shots then changed to my axe...fucking no chance. I wish the infected would just work half as good as the wolves.

Devs promised 3 weeks ago to release beta and even 1.0 before christmas...They also clearly stated that the main focus will be on bugfixing, polishing and tweaking so that we will have a stable and solid running basic version of the game including all basic features working by the end of the year. This a bit more than 5 weeks from today on. I say we wait until Christmas to see what 1.0 will look like....hoping for the best ( maybe a miracle) ...we all know that they are fucked if they can not manage to deliver an at least solid running functioning basic version of the game by the end of this year...so yeah :/ -
Oh yeah holy fck this is one feature that has been requested again and again since 2012 and has been stubbornly ignored by the devs ever since. I really hate looting as it is right now. You walk into a house and more or less immmediately can see if there is loot or not ( scattered on the floor in most cases) instead of rumaging through wardrobes, desks and fridges etc. I would not go that far to use a loot container system only, but at least most of the loot in residental buildings should be handled that way. I could imagine that would help with performance as well. Hope you get this working properly :)

Afaik taking notes is one of the things that is not in yet...I really hope this feature will return ...same goes for the books.

Well releasing the current build as a first beta version on stable and focusing on fixing and polishing the game as it is right now on one branch was a very good idea :)...really like that ! Also the amount of new added items and stuff seems to be a lot bigger than I expected after your last Status Report...nice surprise here as well. Last but not least for the good news, it is nice to hear that you will have a full team still working on Dayz in 2019. Still I am no fan of relasing this version then as 1.0 without, at least for me personally, important features like jumping, climbing, vaulting, throwing items, helicopters and also some really missing iconic weapons ...in other words exactly the stuff that was promised for 1.0 in last November Beta report. You really can be proud of reaching the current beta status as an important mile stone and with a few more weeks of bugfixing and polishing to go, we will see for sure a very cool version of the game at the end of this year but for me personally a beta that is and will be until the missing content has been added and all mechanics are polished and ballanced properly. I don' t expect this to be before Q3 / Q4 2019 though. Stuff like bikes and planes and bows will for sure be added but later...good thing BI is famous for providing amazing longtime support :) However I understand that you can not wait that long to leave early access for different reasons and I also know we all here can live with that somehow for some time... as long as you pump out content on a regular base during the next months .If it will again take ages for new content and patches to arrive...the shitstorm will even be bigger than after the last Status Report...that's for sure. cheers and thx for your hard work :) -

This makes a lot of sense...if they release 1.0 on PC before christmas , they can then polish and tweak the game during Q 1 and go fully release on XBox and PS in Q2. This probably means we will see a few more weapons and the helicopter on PC as well somewhere around Q2. However even if this works out fine, it leaves a really bad taste in my mouth since it clearly shows that all (includes the engine) was mainly about console releases. -

Yeah the more options a sandbox provides the more different scenarios and playstyles and also interactions will happen and only then a broader playerbase can and will be be satiesfied over a longer period of time. Players that Manta calls simpletons were a big part of the fun in the mod....death squads hunting freshspawns at the beach, Cherno and Elektro snipers and bandit clans roaming helicopterland ...Doc wasteland ...the black widdow and of course the reddit rescue force ...fucking hell that was fun...on top of that sometime endless waves of zeds....this was fun because of content...helicopters, cars, boats and a a shitload of weapons...average life span at that time was 35 minutes if I remember correctly...players want to go fully hermit...or as Beniditcus said fully Gobnik..some like fishing...others farming some are happy with a Colt and a bible ...all that options come with content...not interaction -

Throwing items, jumping, vaulting and climbing as well as cars and the helicopter were promised features for 1.0 So this stuff was not down on the list but they simply failed to implement them in time. Barricading, planes, two wheeled vehicles were postponed ( down on the list) which is not cool but at least understandable somehow. Taking into account that the current stuff is buggy and unpolished as hell and the amount of missing items and weapons compared to 0.62 is massive.... We all can see the reactions on the Forums, Reddit, Youtube and Steam :( PS: Bi was lucky that all competitors trying to create a similar game failed until now but this will probably change soon.... -

Let's see what really is missing from their special beta status review from last year...https://dayz.com/blog/status-report-28th-november two or three cars, the helicopter, throwing items , jumping/vaulting/climbing ...to be fair everything else they promised in that report will be in ! 0.62 weapons and items they stated, that they will try to add as much as possible to get on par with 0.62 ( did not really happen) polishing and bugfixing...they are obviously some months behind their plans but trying to push beta and 1.0 out within the next 8 weeks, even with missing promised features and a lot of missing content from 0.62. This will give them for sure not enough time for bittely needed tweaking and polishing before Q1 2019 ...which is normally done within beta phase before full release ! keeping in mind that the devs allready pushed a lot of stuff post 1.0 I would suggest release beta (0.63 stable) before christmas add the promised missing features and if possible some content from 0.62 ( some iconic weapons and itmes) do the needed polishing fixing and tweaking release Version 1.0 release some nice regular content patches everything else will probably kill DayZ for good ( at least the PC version) -
just to clearyfy...Arma3 basic game came with 7 helicopters...helicopter dlc added 2 more the Huron and the Taru ( in different versions) ...they also added the advanced flightmodel, firing from vehicles and sling loading as a free platform update with this dlc !!

Hmmm so my personal conclusion...vanilla Dayz is a dead horse... it will take far more than a year to implement all the missing stuff and I guess most people are not willing to wait year 7 and 8 before they can play the game they dreamt of. So it will be modding then and modded servers : or -

having a specific, locked feature set for 1.0 is essential in order to establish a stable game/platform NO ! Having a locked feature set is if course something that has to be done at certain points of development and yeah it has to be done to make a platform stable but calling this basic platform then 1.0 with all the missing stuff is a slap in the face of your fans and something completely different and not the point because we are all pissed here. we've now reached a point where we have the core set of features that make the core DayZ gameplay, and that's why the line has been drawn Again NO ! Don't you get it...most players are testing the game and then leaving again, because the game has not enough content and features to motivate for more than a few sessions. Don't you read the comments...features and mechanics that are basic and important for us the players are just flavor content for you..this game in its current status is far away from being feature complete ! What we've got is the basic core...nothing more ! We all know that you will add most of the missing content in the future...but we all also know that this will take at least a year or more looking at your development speed and the massive amount of missing stuff....Don't you get it that you are currently on the best way to completely loose it ? 1.0 with this feature set, and proper amount of bug fixes and stability, will be the best DayZ we delivered to date + modding support. That alone makes it worth a 1.0 release and NO ! it is the best running version of this game.....not the best experience! This is a big difference. I had way more fun with the clunky mod ! What really is shocking me is how far you are away from the original idea of this game . It is still gameplay and diversion that matters not nice graphics and tech !!! Beside that modding is cool but not a core feature of a game !!!!! -

Why then so hastily releasing 1.0 and not only beta...as it seems both versions will be identical except of a bit more polishing and bugfixing....I am sure you are right about this but this however leaves some bitter taste in my mouth :( -
