:D no we should try harder to make them hate this game....cod kids do also not play arma and I am pretty sure nobody is missing them ( this includes the BI devs)
-
nah..it was so much fun when my team mate and me finally found out how backpacks really work..."nice I've found a new backpack but why isn't there more space avaible in my inventory now...wtf... :D" I am sure the SA will have pretty simple and intuitive basic controls like a drag and drop inventory etc so a nice small wiki should do it. My dream...no hud...no crosshair..no questsskilltreesperksnpc's...no 3rd person..no teamspeak/skype = no CoD kids.

You had too much sparkling wine.... :D

Haven't seen a thread like that around here. There's bits and pieces spread out in other unrelated threads though. BIforums is your best bet but I have a feeling you've been there (ssshhhh, don't mention DayZ to those guys). The SA might not support community made maps for quite a while. Thx mate, strange enough for a mod forum :P . I saw some of the guys like Sumrak posting on the Arma mod forums, just thought things like planning maps for the SA would be better placed here. However I know that it will take a long time before modding will be implemented but creating a large new map will take even more time..so better starting now :)

M8 this is a running joke...Sergey Titov is the beloved guy behind WarZ :P. .Let's forget about the Npc's for a while and discuss something else ( except skill trees and perks) cheers

a good place to find the last bottles of sparkling wine :)

I can not see a sooner release just because of a first limited test....they are testing mainly the new server client structure and the new inventory system...still along long way to go ...we should keep in mind that they are doing all weapons and all anims etc from the scratch....good news though :)
-
EA...for example...you do the casual stuff they want or your studio will be closed...speaking of Saboteur for example which was an awsome game...studio was closed directly after release...
-
Stability issues from last week resolved this morning, which means... Limited capacity testing has BEGUN. 30 keys were issued today for this
-
nice try Sergey :P
-
honestly....I prefer waiting :)
-
thx m8...but where to post about a new map planned for the SA later on ;) I am looking for people willing to team up...(finished the heightmap today)
-
btw...does anyone knows which thread is about modding...new maps and stuff ?
-
good news..indeed ( thx for sharing this...I am one of these cavemen don't using twitter :D )

Improvement is when you take a good thing and make it better. this feature is not good..it is boring as hell in every game that I know... Best case scenario, it would serve as a mechanism to keep players interested when general player cooperation breaks down, thereby adding to the game rather than taking away from it. if the day comes player coorporation and DayZ mechanics will be boring for most of players I don't think wow style quests would save it ...
-
what will make this game successful.... It will be the servers where the epic shit happens ...servers where for example the trusted medics of the wastland will rollplay and maybe provide quests and tasks for other players...servers where people communicate using the ingame mechanics...it will be the stories about Green Mountain and the cursed bus stop... and it will be me standing on the hospital roof talking into my walkie talkie ..."Elektro is done we are moving on" ... last post about this from my side
-
@ Bat absolutely agree ....random crashed airplanes, stranded ships, or wrecked convoys would be a cool addition ... I also would love to see some kind of lore background like letters, newspapers and stuff .. but this has been confirmed anyway :-)
-
do you even have a clue what this would mean technically ?? npc's need a proper AI ( as someone else stated before they have removed the entire npc AI from the game engine)..npc's need proper anims , face expressions and voice acting....the quests will also need a lot of scripts running...you further need a questlog for the player to make sure you can not do the same quest again and again...btw we are not talking about one quest..we would need hundreds of them...I think the resources could be used better ....beside all other reasons... .
-
could be everything..toxic chemical substances ....gas..I do not mean secret labs..more something what you would expect in RL...
-
From an economic stand-point, it makes sense, as you would cover the entire spectrum of gamers. It's a win-win if you ask me. This is exactly why we get all this EA, Treyarch and Ubisoft console games crap only...making everything casual so that everybody is happy...killing good games as Splinter cell or Dead Space etc etc...npc's....quests..skilltress..autohealth...bullet time...script events...kill cam...ingame shops...where do you draw the line ??? This game is different and it should stay different...people who don't like it this way are free to play something else.... I forgot..the minimap..and questmarker..sorry
-
What about making contaminated areas and structures ? The player would need proper gear to explore and loot them :) ...gasmasks for example have been confirmed...
-
nonononononononononono..and NO !!! casual gameplay and gamemechanics will stopp people being creative and writing their own stories...and this is what this game is about...
-
if people are willing to use more ingame communication and to play more creative we will not need any scripted events or npcs. For example people could use ingame communication and trade their stuff ingame instead of posting it on the forums...we could even organize markets. .

Green Mountain Radio Station
-
wouldn't it be so epic if you would be limited to ingame mechanics for communication...beside a radio system, notes and instructions placed at specific points...not mobile survivors in the need of help could use signals..like smoke grenades or signal pistoles.... :)
