Sounds like the way they are doing it for Arma 3. I don't think "goodies" means basic game content :) . Maybe you can give some extra money for later map addons, a complete soundtrack or a printed map, modding tools...stuff like that or choose an alpha lite key just for the basic game.... just my thoughts... -

June has not been confirmed or announced as a release date! They will just review the situation and then continue alpha testing on a bigger scale allowing screening and stuff. I don't expect the alpha release before july /august maybe even september. Edit : + 1 for a nice WarZ Video (maybe something like a classical games review) -

Items being entities (durability) ...zombies being a real thread...new loot spawn system (NO loot maps)...new health and disease system....crafting...combat tweaks ( no crosshair, less ammo and military weapons, gun jamming and deterioration etc)...radios ( DON'T USE TEAMSPEAK)...writing notes and books...chernarus+ (complete map overhaul, all interiors enterable)...new weather system....vehicle overhaul ...base building.... The possible scenarios are nearly endless and should keep everyone busy for a very long time! -

I think he said that this will be in probably in june when they are going to test with more people ( after reviewing the situation and before alpha release that is :P ) -

you can have a look here : https://sites.google...gworlds-clutter To change the grass you can change the values in the config.cpp (no need to rename it back to txt, just open it in notepad). Then make it into a pbo again... clutterRadius = 1;//1 clutterGrid = 1;//1 clutterDist = 125;//125 (grass and flowers and stuff distance is 125 meters by default) noDetailDist = 40;//40 fullDetailDist = 15;//15 minTreesInForestSquare = 5;//5 minRocksInRockSquare = 4;//4 Change and play around with the bold numbers to change settings. The last numbers are the default values (just in case ). cheers -

Cost's have been covered and If I was in charge of BIS, I would give rocket all the time in the world, It is going to sell big time (I only estimated the price too) that's what I am saying...there is not even one good reason to rush the game out. Now with that projected income, Explain to me why communication is Poor? Yap communication is really bad and this is why I would like to see an official BI DayZ SA forum opened. Communication should be more centralized and official, not Rocket answering questions on Twitter or unknown youtube channels .... -

it easily sold more than a million copies of the game DayZ has been a financial success for its publisher (BI) without selling one single copy of the SA. I guess they could even stop the entire project and still make some nice profit out of it. It is not only the million sold copies of Arma 2, DayZ also indirectly supports Arma 3 because it has brought so many new people to the Arma universe/community including all its amazing mods and maps like for example Wasteland or Invasion44 etc Not forget to mention some extra sold copies of other BI game like ToH... Now let's assume Rocket will sell only 300.000 copies of the SA on top of that (because of the delayed release), it would still be a financial success for BI. Now since there is obviously no reason to worry about the economic side of SA development what is left to worry about ...competition...vision and critical reviews... Honestly in this very special genre (not talking about CoD gameplay) I see only one competitor on the horizon http://www.survarium.com/en/news/survarium-march-calendar-out which will come out at the end of 2013 or most likely in 2014 . I don't think Rocket should dump his visons and risk bad critical reviews by rushing out a game without having other reasons to do so. -

What I don't understand is why they didn't follow the kickstarter model for the whole standalone project. Chris Roberts' Star Citizen has raised $7million for their game (mainly direct preorders not kickstarter) and they have enough money for a properly resourced Dev team and a very good regular video blog. By selling 300.000 or maybe more additional copies of Arma 2 ( my guess) BI should have made enough money to fund the complete DayZ SA development..... -

I am not happy that Rocket is going to waste his time at some small unimportant gaming show!! He should instead sit at his desk and place some new barns on the chernarus+ map !! PS: joe_mcentire do you accept rupees as well ??
