In this case... will it be possible in the Sa to change the server during combat and to respawn inside buildings ? Any info ? PS: both should be impossible -
Disagreement between a friend

Arma 2 still is a good and realistic looking game (playing it on very high settings), Arma 3 looks amazing (for me better than battlefield or crisis which do look nice also but not really realistic). -

Further expansion of Chernarus

In this case.I can see also a lot of amazing community made maps for Arma 3 and DayZ SA like a mediterranean DayZ map using Arma 3 resources and also cool Chernarus maps for Arma 3 using the new DayZ stuff ( especially all the interiors for cool close combat sceanrios) -

Further expansion of Chernarus
Private Evans replied to Cap'n (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This is why Utes has been placed that near to the coast. It has been integrated into the existing map. However I think it would be cool to have the possibility to link different maps later on. -
Further expansion of Chernarus
Private Evans replied to Cap'n (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
From a technical point of view... Chernarus is a 2048 x2048 map using a scale of 7,5. This gives us a playable map of 15360 x 15360 meters (225 km²). Everything that can be seen beyond this map ingame is so called outside terrain and is generated automatically by the game engine. This outside terrain can not be edited!!! To extend the map you would have to enlarge the original heightmap, sat map and texture map. The next possible (highest possible) seize would be a 3072 x3072 map using of course the same scale of 7,5. The result would be a 23040 x23040 meters map (529 km²). BI editing software (visitor) allows also to generate 4096 x4096 maps but even they avoid this size because it tends to be unstable (beside other problems). The better (only) and more realistic solution to expand Chernarus (green sea region) would be to combine different maps via travelling(teleport) scripts. Green sea expansion http://forums.bistud...-Project-(GSEP) thats how it could look like cheers Edit : 3 areas are avaible so far and can be downloaded here : http://www.armaholic...itle&w=asc&d=30 . -

Houses, inspired by the origins mod.
Private Evans replied to 5carecrow's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
For me taking over buildings or large structures and barricade them is the only realistic solution for endgame scenarios. We have discussed tis a lot here on the forums and I think it could be done without cluttering the server too much.... PS: I also don't like the underground bases idea since building undergound structures is even more difficult to do than building a hut or small house..I don't think anyone would do this in RL...except using and expanding existing basements, tunnels or bunkers... -

If Day Z (the original) would be like Origins I defenetely would not play it ! Beside the fact the Origin team has "borrowed" so many concepts, ideas and models from other modders, it provides nearly any crappy idea that should not find its way into the SA. This of course includes those sweet Hobbit safe houses. Probably I am simply too old but I find DayZ Origins simply immature and embarrissing.. Did anyone noticed this wooden western fort with the draw bridge in their latest teaser...come on this is stuff for 12 years old kids. We defenetely will have to discuss endgame content later on, but I am sure the devs and the community will provide better and more realistc concepts than this.... just my two cents PS: But maybe I am completely wrong and we will even see the survivors building cosy huts in "The Walking Dead" season 4... -

Living in a small sweet hobbit house surrounded by a nice small garden fence, including a mailbox for my daily newspaper and having a nice chat with the neighbours In the evening after a hard day of looting...yes..that's my dream of living in a zombie apocalypse...honestly...I can see myself decorating my home ( love machine or wastland style) and going out for a pint on a friday night to the nearest trading point..... -

That's why modding would be so important for DayZ...adding all this little nice extras and details, not turning the original game in something horrible as Origins ! We still need a Modding Section !!!!! -

COD uses the same engine, resources, codes and game mechanics since part 2 (released in 2005).So it is not really difficult to pump out a new game every year just in time....same goes for games like Fifa etc...
