Barricade building has been cinfirmed by Rocket some time ago. As far as I remember he was talking about moving wooden planks and stones and of course washing mashines etc etc and use them to buld barricades :I can imagine that we actualy will have to carry the larger pieces in our hands..maybe even use vehicles later on :) -

instead of barbwire and sandbags ( which was based on a military simulation) we will now be able to collect stuff to build improvised barricades which seems more realistic....you also can use vehicles like the big busses to block passages :) ( which is possible even in the mod) Fortifying and building camps should be done in a creative way, letting the player find out what to use or combine...not some shitty building deers stands out of your backpack mechanics like in Origin..did I say that I really hate this? :P ...the day I find a playermade Hobbit house with a letterbox and a garden fence..i will stopp playing this game.... -

Since Barricading has been confirmed and cleaning entire areas of the map (killing all zeds in a specific zone) wil be possible, underground bases have become obsolete for me.. Every building or structure can become a base now in a very realistic way. Better add some new features like barricading doors and windows or some nice traps and use underground instances instead as dungeons to explore. -1 for shittyoriginhobbithouseswithchildishgardenfencesandletterboxes :facepalm: +1 for barricading and fortifying existent/predefined places and structures :beans: -

A lot of gameplay will take place inside of buildings and structures,... the new loot spawn system will place loot under beds and tables or behind car seats etc... there will be no hud and no crosshair...comunicating and interacting with other players and the gameworld will be more important....... = fighting in 3rd person will be completely pointless =looting will be more difficult in 3rd persoon...in some cases even pointless as well =interior gameplay in 3rd person sucks ...camera has to be tweaked anyway to avoid bugs like seeing through rooftops and walls ( as shown in some of the early devblogs) =talking, trading, crafting and any kind of interaction work better in 1st person view ( no secret that is) in other words people will play a lot more in 1.person anyway Remove zooming, freelook and the possibility to change to 1st person on the fly and force players into 1st person under certain conditions anyway ( during combat when sneaking or crouching , inside or on top of buildings etc) and we are good to go....everybody would still be able to admire his new pink heels and stockings in 3.person :P -

the different teams are working together anyway and for sure a few resources can bet set free at BI for DayZ in the near future but people should not expect a big push because half of the arma team will work then on DayZ after Altis has been released in september...but who knows.. :) -

nope ... they have been asked on Gamescom if a part of the team will move on to other projects after the "final" release and they clearly said NO. After releasing the map of Altis in september the whole team will be busy with working on the campaign dlc's, patching and bugfixing. Then they will start working on addons and new content and releasing the new dev tools etc etc..as they said probably for a few years...just think of how big Altis is... i don't think they are doing one campaign and then stop using it... -

and they really try to change the character of the forests and large wilderness, to provide more opportunities for firefights etc. i am really looking forward, especially when - eventually - "all" forces from arma3 will come to aid Rocket and his team of Spartans ;) this will not really happen....as stated BI is planning to work on A3 for the next couple of years... -

I am not sure about the manual thing....when I started playing the mod It took me a good while ( days to be honest) to find out how backpacks work and how to make a campfire etc :blush: Imagine how long it will take now to learn everything with all the cool new game mechanics and micromanagement. You will probably find out new stuff even after weeks maybe months just by accident...that's great I think -

cleaning your gun and reading some dirty mags will probably be the only kind of entertainmet in old Chernarus for a good while ... in this case I really hope to find an old gramophone and some old Rachmaninow records :) -

Regarding the zombie animations...would be nice if there could be some conditions added that would stop zombie attack animations as long as no player is really close in a specific radius...also zombies should only start attack animations when looking in the right direction....as long as these condditions are not complied the zombies wouid only run or walk but not start their attack anims...I think this would help a lot :) -

Noted Rocket said that most of the Zombies had been shot by other Players already. In the release are Zombies still going to Respawn ? As a player dies could a Zombie Spawn each time ? Would this be possible Rocked said some time ago that zombies spawn in zones. If you can manage to kill all the zeds in this zone they will not respawn until there is no player in it. For the interiors..I personally do not mind that some rooms or floors are closed but would really love to see the big industrial buildings made enterable. :) -

Sure they can ..they are that good and professionell that they can even sell the same shitty games every year adding just a few minor features and also a few new bugs and their marketing strategeies are that clever that people even buy DLC's for games that haven't been released.... -

And the game will be shit when it is released since Matt failed to craft something in the video...or will it be shit anyway since they are using shaky handcames for their devblogs and their headset sound quality sucks...or will it be shit because Rocket refuses to turn of his motion blur and headbobbing in his devblogs ??? I am tired of smart asses that seem to perfectly know how to develop and publish a computer game and do not even have the humor to smile about such stuff.... -

However ....Ireland would be a nice location without a question but I would prefer something completely different...South America..Asia...or Africa..new archtitecture and new kind of landscapes etc -
DayZ expansion suggestion

This idea has been discussed here on the forums a lot before and the basic idea of using transpor/teleport scripts like in other games like The Elder Scrolls for example is of course always the same but in our case there are two points to consider. 1. All maps have to be stored on the main hive and all have to use the same DayZ vanilla resources and game mechanics etc which could include of course new items and weapons. New items and weapons could be then brought back to Chernarus for example. 2. Since we will not see new official maps that soon, the only way i can see something like that happen is using community made maps created in close cooperation with the devs to make sure they fit the quality standarts and background lore. . -
