    talking about zeds...zeds being fast or sometimes faster as the player is just on aspect which will be equalized as soon as we are able to sneak and hide and get a proper zombie respawn system. Running around 3 corners and hide inside a building or behind a wall etc should do the trick but simply does not work atm Same goes for crawling which worked pretty nice in the mod... the respawn system is just a placeholder to test performance and stuff :-)...so no need to worry

    jap....my new char was chased around for over an hour in Eleketro last evening while desperately trying to find some food and stuff....even drinking from a well was hard to manage. Beside that , all other players seemed to have have melee weapons only like me....nobody was starting a fight since everybody had to deal with the zeds,,, best DayZ run since the mod ...very immersive !!

New textures etc looking good, but with all the nice russian soda cans gone as well atm ( never found one again after pipsi etc was added) I am under the impression that it's getting a bit too much western style now (regarding items and weapons)...hopefully they will add proper Vodka and no Jack Daniels bottles. Also I never understood why there are exotic fuits all over the place but no vegetables...would love to see potatoes, carrotes and stuff added .. All in all I was hoping for more russian /local products and western stuff added mainly in the bigger cities or at Nato/UN camps and bases. just my thoughts...

  9. Showing us a clear structured"Road Map" is really needed me thinks :) . As it seems a lot of stuff ( new items, animations, map improvments,zombies etc) will be developed and improved until the end of the alpha or even beta, having no concrete time frame. But game mechanics like camping, cooking, hunting, deseases and wound system, vehicles, persistent items, basebuilding etc will have ( or should have) a clear road map I guess and it would be nice to know what to expect when and also would stop a lot of useless whining on the forums. PS: talking about this nagging for vehicles which I see all the time...I for example don't care about vehicles and tons of new weapons but really would love to see the promised desease/infectiion/wounds (medic) system and other survival aspects ( hypothermia for example) being implemented as soon as possible ...also as I said before ( again and again) . I can not see any sense in implementing performance killing stuff like vehicles and basebuilding etc as long as we do not have proper numbers of functioning zeds roaming the map... but that's just me :)

I personally don't need 100 or more players running around mainly doing nothing else than shooting each other....For me encreasing the number of players should be one of the last things to be implemented.There is absolutely no sense in having more than 40 players on a server as long as there are no proper number of zeds..and by proper number I mean masses, no animals, vehicles and features as persistent items and base building..I see DayZ still as a zombie survival game in which player interaction should be the icing on the cake....sadly for most people it is just another clan shooter including survival aspects and a few zombies. Having 100 or more players on a server will make this even worse.... but that's just me :-)

    Probably Rocket has noticed that there are too many different tastes out there so that all he can do is to deliver a solid ground of a survival game which then will be modded and played in different versions mainly on private hives....maybe not the worst option...

    No need to panic but I would like to see a roadmap for the next let's say 6 months or so to know which direction this goes and which features will be implemented ...also funny to see that I always was hated for saying the future of this game will be modding. Personally I don't think this will be further developed that long after full release...not talking about fixes and patches ( support) ...

    One very important aspect of such an apocalyptic scenario ( in our case a virus outbreak) is that I would expect the survivors to be a mix out of different races, genders and ages who now have to learn to survive ...You can find this in nearly every zombie or apocalyptic movie or series. Even in an action game like Left4Dead...I am repeating myself but having mainly 25 years old ex special forces survivors seems not realistic to me, especially not for a game that provides so many awesome nice details when it comes to game world and survival mechanics stuff...I am really sad that this important point gets nearly no love from the devs.... No need for Manga girlies but women should look like women (including their clothes) ....and why not playing as Hershel Greene...?

    I didn't say that it will be defenetely impossible but by looking at the current server performance status and taking into account that coming server performance improvments will be equalized by new implemented stuff ( like more players, animals, loot and zombie respawn, loot containers, persistent storage , vehicles, basebuilding keeping dead bodies for a longer time, new map areas etc etc) it does not look that good for large zed hoards....is that so hard to understand...even as a longtime fan and forum member I do not have to like and believe everything just because the game is alpha ...I also do not like the uni sex approach ..but.that's just me as it seems it is not possible anymore to discuss things here on the forums properly without running into new members who think they must defend their beloved game even if their only argument is "ALPHA"... honestly this sucks ...no wonder more and more old regulars are gone or do not post that often here anymore....

    I don't think that 50 players + including their saved gear etc have less impact on performance than adding a few more zombies and I am defenetely not moaning about missing zombie variations, not functioning pathfinfing, no collision, no proper Ai, no proper damage system shitty sounds etc etc etc since I also know this is alpha ( I am around here on the forums since the very beginning I am not completely stupid....).but taking into account that adding more players will cost performance resources...adding animals will cost performance resources....adding loot respawn will cost resources...adding numerous towns and locations will also have impact on the performance as well as adding features like vehicles, tents, loot storages, basebuilding etc makes me wonder if it will even be possible to add the pure number of zombies that would be necessary for a nice zombie apocalypse scenario. Just imagine how many zeds they will just have to place at the new locations in the north and on Utes ( not being sure if there are even more new islands planned).I think we can be happy if we will see respawning zombies added to all locations( including the new areas) mayby slightly inreased in number compared to what we have right now. Probably they will try to compensate that by making them more dangerous and deadly. But I am pretty sure that it will never be possible to add the masses and hoards that we all would like to see using the current system ( spwaning them all at server start). And this is why I start to think that servers for 50 players and the zombie spawn system sytem which is used in the mod would be probably better (zombies only spawn if players are around but in large numbers) as I also said these are just my thoughts....no rant or moaning... no need to call the fanboy police ....

    Talking about the zombies.... I am not testing the experimental branch but as far as I know they are testing servers with up to 80 -100 players, which is a good sign as far as it goes for server performance. BUT in this case I've heard nothing about adding more zombies...There is absolutely no sense in increasing the number of players as long there are only 3 zombies per village. This will only result in an even greater PvP feast as it is right now on most servers. I am really afraid that we will get an awesome survival sandbox game including cool PvP elements only but never will see a proper zombie population and I slowly start to think the devs know that they will never be able to provide that feature as planned. If they increase player numbers per server, add animals and finish the new areas in the north and Utes how will they ever be able to fill this with the needed number of zombies ?? Right now the number of zeds is a joke allthough it is, because of the missing map improvments and additions, just about 75% of the final map. Just for the current map it would take at least 3 times more zeds atm to create something like a real threat in the cities and villages and to create a real zombie apocalypse feeling, without talking about wandering hoards or zeds in the wilds So why not using the spawn system from the mod at least for the bigger locations ( cities, towns and airfields). Small villages and farms could still use the current system....hoards and zeds in the woods could spawn randomely... just my thoughts

    "Beards may not get in due to being to gender specific and too much work." Honestly I think this uni sex approach is the completely wrong way. At least for those of us who are rollplaying this game, trying to get lost in a believable gameworld. Players who enyoy the survival, horror and social interaction elements. Different genders, races, ages etc are a vital part of such a scenario and should get more attention . I imagine a group of survivors more looking like Rick's group from the Walking Dead ( or even from Left 4Dead) than having a bunch of 25 years old males all wearing camo clothing, gasmasks and being armed to the teeth. There is no need for making 50 different guns in this game if this means essential rollplaying stuff will be left out. It is also stupid talking about the Kos mentality and pure military shooter gameplay on one side but on the other hand forcing exactly this kind of gameplay by adding tons of weapons but leaving rollplay aspects out that would add more value to the players character. Don't get me wrong here, the weapon moidells are amazing and I love my SKS riffle ( This is my riffle, there are many like it but this one is mine) but when I see a poll about what weapon modells people would like to see (which is cool) it seems clear where the priorities are. You can't tell me that creating a new gun from the scratch is that more work than creating a few female only clothes for example.... no rant just my thoughts :-)

    Sadly a large group of players thinks it is only immersive and realistic to find M4's and unisex camo clothing all over the place,,, beside male AND female clothes there should also be things like toys and even children clothes...in this case I also hope for more different faces and hairstyles as well as different ages. NOT every survivor in such a scenario would be a 25 years old male !!. To create a real believable game world Rocket and team should fix that in the future.. just my two cents....
