    See my previous two posts where I'm all arrogant like "I dunno, seems the same to me so far" And then I start a new guy and all of a sudden I'm running all over the place from zombies. It was a pretty big difference.

    So, I was initially experiencing the new patch on a well equipped 2 day old character with gillie suit, an M16A2 M203 that I had fired a handful of times, 6 magazines of ammo, and a full survival kit. Things were pretty easy. I was sneaking all over like I usually did. So, I decided to push the boundaries and carelessly (and a bit on purpose) I let him die. I started a new guy, and I can say that it is way easier to sneak around zed with a gillie suit. I played for an hour, and only managed to get a shotgun which I quickly spent the ammo on. I was actually using my ammo up! I was playing more carefully, not just holding down the forward key till my hand was sore. It was awesome, and way more tense. I found myself actually hoping to run into someone...which I did, and he shot me, but that's not the point. It was awesome. I fully approve the change. Also, I suspect the zed are not spawning in the buildings, but are being kited there by players, and then getting stuck in the floor.

    So I just played for about 2 hours without aggroing a single zed. As far as I can tell there is no difference.
  6. Is hearing now decreased by losing blood? I started out hearing just fine, but now I'm down to 4000 and I can't hear anything except music (so I know sound is working). Also, the zombies are just as easy as ever to sneak around. I barely notice the difference.

    +1 on batteries, not only for nvg, but also for all flashlights, gps, and anything else that runs on electricity.

  12. I support this idea. I would also like to suggest that the chance for a loot pile to drop empty cans should increase the more that loot pile is looted, thus encouraging exploration and making the various farming techniques for military gear less productive.

And that question is: "If you were told that you may kill anyone and everyone you want with no immediate consequences, but that there may or may not be consequences for doing so in the future, would you do it?" or, to put it another way: "Is this going to be on the test?" I think by now we've all answered that question for ourselves.

    My g17 light had been working fine, then suddenly stopped. I tried rebooting and a couple different servers and it never worked again. I wonder if it's possible to break them?

    So I just did ((alive characters + survival attempts)-(bandits alive + bandits killed)) / (bandits alive + bandits killed) according to this 1 in 16 characters gets flagged as a bandit... Is that right?
  16. YES (try it out) I say give it a shot, but persistent identity would work better in the long run.
  17. Rocket, my question to you is this: Is there anything that users like myself can do to help in situations like this? There are many of us who desperately want to see this mod succeed and become what it can and should become, and who respect you for your vision, and for the honesty and integrity that you have displayed thus far. Seriously, if there was something I could do (aside from not participating in the mud slinging) I would do it in a heartbeat, and I'm fairly certain that most players agree with me.
  18. So, even though bandit skins have been removed from the game, are bandits still being tracked? Can a person still get 'bandit' status for killing other players, even though it's not displayed? If the answer is yes, then currently only 31,017 players out of 170,749 are bandits...that's only 1 in 5 players who are bandits. Is that right?

    Of course it's do-able in a game. Everyone gets one name. Done. If you would seriously buy a new copy of ArmaII just to escape a bad reputation then hopefully you'd at least weigh your decisions more carefully the second time through. Oh and for clarification: I don't mean to imply that there would be some 'reputation' stat or score based on your kills. I'm talking about real reputations earned through actions and decisions that you actually make while playing.

    The Community/Game as of 1.7.0

    I like to imagine that we, as a community, just "woke up on the beach." This is a different type of game, and not everyone who plays knows exactly what to do with it. So naturally, they go with what they know, which is to shoot people. I don't blame them. So far this sandbox has a box, but very little sand. As features get implemented their will be a greater variety of playstyles to explore. Until then, it's 'Bandits' vs. 'Survivors', and not everyone knows which side they belong to.

    I like the idea of a discoverable "true idenity" as well. It would add a certain level of whodunnit to the game.

    Yes, but how do players in game recognize you? I don't think I'd want my unique ID number displayed.

    They seem to get around that in every other game that makes you select a name. Someone already has your name? Choose a different one.
