Yes it does, and no it isn't. -
are you guys fucking retarded?

I think I love you... -
See my suggestion on the subject of persistent disease. It's in my sig below :) Also, I'd personally like to see more melee weapons and far fewer firearms. Maybe some bows, traps, thrown weapons, etc. As it stands right now, The game is almost pure gun porn.

Don't crawl, crawling is for suckers who want to die. crouch walk when you need to sneak, and sprint to your safe house at the first sign of zombie aggro. If you do it right, you'll never even get hit, with or without a weapon.

I had an idea for a voluntary system to identify ourselves and what type of player we are to others. It is a simple idea, and easy to implement without any coding by Rocket whatsoever. Simply put one of the following codes in front of your character name to designate yourself: (f) Friendly (s) Survivor (b) Bandit (+) medic Obviously this could be abused easily by dishonest players, but I bet they can't read anyway so screw'em. If anyone has any other codes we could use or would like to expand on this idea, please feel free to speak up.

A week Playing as a Non-combatant Medic.
Gravelsack replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
May I suggest, as a way to denote that you are a medic, put a (+), or a (MD) before your character name. That way, people can tell if there's a medic on the server by pressing P for a player list. (or a bandit disguised as a medic...don't worry, bandits can't read anyway) I commend your idea. Perhaps it would be better if you travel with an armed entourage? -

I'm not really even sure why I clicked on a thread titled "are you guys fucking retarded?", but I did, and I was rewarded with lulz :) -

I like the idea of a rescue boat in addition to a chopper

I see what people are getting at from the 'realism' standpoint. Personally I think that realism can be sacrificed for the sake of interesting mechanics, but it's important to stay consistent as well, so I can see the sense in that argument. However, here's a quote from Rocket concerning the issue of realism: -

I think currently it only reduces your maximum health to 10' date='000. As I said before, the frequency of the antibiotic spawns and the effects of the disease would have to be tweaked. Dude, that's awesome. Those are the kinds of experiences DayZ is about. Choosing to put down your infected buddy? That's emergent gameplay right there. -

All of those are much more severe status effects than illness. Especially 0 blood. That would make the game quite challenging. -

So far the arguments against include: -it doesn't make sense. -because other status effects are not permanent. -it takes away from immersion. -antibiotics are uncommon -it would be too hard/cruel/unfair -the virus would rampage out of control and the game would be essentially over because everyone would be sick all the time. -Gravelsack is dumb -Gravelsack is a douche -no. (I will continue to add arguments against as they are presented) -
Tutorial: How to get items out of crashed heli's!
Gravelsack replied to RogueFox's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Omg! Thank you for this! I've found 3 crash sites and not been able to loot a single one. -
I know what you mean. I read all these posts about bandits and everyone just getting shot left and right all day long, and I'm like WTF?...it often feels like a single player game to me I see other people so rarely.

What if we picked an alignment at our spawn?
Gravelsack replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like the idea of picking a side at the beginning, but not punishing or rewarding based on which side you choose. What if instead it is just a Red vs. Blue scenario? Gain humanity for killing the other guys, lose humanity for killing your guys, then simply reward high humanity. People who want to shoot others will still be able to do so, and be rewarded for it. People who want to team up will have a way to tell 'friend' from 'foe'. Of course, there's always room for foul play. -

Also, Whiskey bottles are your friend. I like to have one on me at all times. You can use them to get zombies out of the buildings. Just throw it near the entrance so they hear it and they'll start wandering around and eventually wander outside. -
