I want a camp, but I've only ever found 1 tent in the month+ I've been playing.

Yes. But eventually there will be nothing but barren landscape until you die of thirst or hunger.

I always skip Cherno and Electro, and run for the nearest red roofed barn with the two staircases (you know the ones). Here you can usually pick up a basic survival kit and a weapon or two. My next priority is acquiring hunting knife, matches, hatchet, and water bottles. Once you have these things you are no longer tied to towns for your survival. You only need to visit them for gear and ammo, which means that you can skip all of the sheds and crap and target the better buildings. Next I prioritize compass and map, so that I can navigate effectively. Then I start hitting deer stands. One right after another. I'll admit, I use one of the online maps that shows the locations of the deer stands. It's technically cheating, but if I could make persistent notes on my in game map, then I wouldn't use the online cheat maps, because I would make my own. After that? I usually get some good weapons, get way too overconfident, and wind up getting myself killed.

I usually take a break, then start a new character later. Otherwise, I feel like my characters blend together, and I like to keep each one distinct in my mind.

Took me about an hour when I did it. It wasn't so bad. Really, the best thing to do is not wait until you break your leg to go looking for morphine. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure you know.

I really think the problem is just that guns are pretty much the only content right now. You've got guns, you've got players. Not much else for anyone to do but shoot at each other or collect gear. Once we see an increase of non-gun related content I think it will be easier to group because there will actually be reasons to group. Right now, I usually play lone wolf because I can handle the Zed on my own, and I don't really want to share the loot spawns. -

If it makes you feel any better, earlier this week I grouped up with 2 guys, stayed friendly with them even after I got a gun, some other folks joined us, and we ran around the coast as a big happy group of friendlies. Then someone else shot me in the face :) So, it is possible to group and be friendly...just uncommon. -
