  1. Yeah I saw your other post Panda, good idea. Shame it wasn't some months ago. I used to play on a server run by some really good guys (Who were also an active clan on the server). Unfortunatly, some other guys donated and got admin rights, and it all went to hell from there. Problem being, because they kept donating, the owner couldn't really take it away from them. He pretty much had to wait until their month was up, close it all down, so they couldn't do anything else. We all considering joining together and putting our own server together, but since then the whole group has kind of split, so there is not enough of us. Always wanted to run my own server, but just not enough of us now. Would of put ourselves forward for merging and that if had of been back then! Good work anyway Panda, you do a solid job! :beans:

    dayz FPS increase No downloads!

Maybe your personal problem is a lack of respect and understanding for other peoples lives..? Some people, like myself, are extremly fortunate to be able to build their own PC's or buy a nice pre-built one. But we're not going to act the we are better than those can't do such things.. Ever heard of the economy? Yeah, it affects some of us...
  3. A. Was the last deadline set by Rocket. B. Rocket gets back start of June. Matt and the team have done a great job of taking over while Rocket takes up on one the most biggest challenges in the world. I fully expect it to be June/July now, but if its take a little longer, I'm not going to complain. I can't count on my fingers the amount of games I've played that were hyped out, only to be rushed and unfinished, full of bugs. If they are looking to nail this first time round, so be it. Good things come to those who wait! ;) And at the end of the day they are as human as we are, not like they are superhumans living off Red Bull and Coffee.

[GUIDE] Safest Way To Loot NWAF [Quick Route]

I don't there is any real 'safe route', or method, when looting anywhere. Anyone at anypoint anywhere can jump out and kill you. Personally, I just go with how things play out. Obviously the old trick of checking for zombies in distance is useful, generally speaking just stay on your toes. I'll loot everywhere except the ATC tower, thats just me. I'm more of the risk taker type.
  5. Will do Panda, we actually killed him twice, because we killed him as soon as he came in so it appeared as friendly fire, so when he re-spawned, he did so on his dead body. Justice was delivered swiftly! B) Despite there being like... less than 10-15 people on all day we got into a fair few fights.
  6. Hey Panda, just to let you know a player called KillAll combat logged today, about 14:30ish, snuck up behind us at NWAF then had the balls to combat log when he knew he was about to be killed. We waited and killed him anyway, Not sure if it makes any difference, but thought I'd just report it! ;)
  7. Thats the thing though, it's pretty difficult to find a server that is well.... Difficult. It's almost influenced other servers to do the same. And I'll admit, every now and then I'll jump on a pure PvP server with spawn gear and go off on one, but the closet I've come in recent months to a difficult, more about actual survival type server is the origins servers. But unfortunatly, I still find there is quite a lot of bugs to be had there. Heck, even the PvP servers are ruined by donators who are given AS50 TWS.

    Sniper rifle comparison

Very well put together. I take the DMR purely because how adaptive it is, can use it in any situation. But i have to agree, the M24/M40 are the two best long range snipers. Had a lot of success when using them. The SVD is fun to use, the inbuilt range finder is very useful (And works if you know how), and you can just about make out targets at long distances. Glad you didn't include the .50 weapons. Insanenly easy to use, no thinking about anything with those, pretty much point-shoot.
  9. I'm totally on board with you EvilSausage. There are a few decent private servers out there that try and stick to the roots of the game, but otherwise its just overpowered servers. The one thing that bugs the heck out of me, is 24/7 daylight servers. Why? Why would you get rid of an element that you are not going to be able to take away in the SA? One of the main elements of the game.. Night time!! It's almost like people haven't got the skills to be able to play pure survival DayZ, so they feel the need to overload the servers with high powered weapons and vehicles. And the arguement of not being able to see **** at night? Oh really? I never realised you couldn't see in the dark. Man up and use a torch. Rant over.
  10. You find most of these servers that give gear for donations are poorly run, or the Admins have no clue. I stand by what I have always said about this, and that I don't mind donating, but I don't want gear. I'm willing to contribute to imrpove a server, keep it running at high performence, and help build a community within that server through things like server events. And no offense to any of you that have paid for gear, but you have to have a pretty low IQ in fairness. I have recently been playing PvP servers were you spawn with good gear. One of these servers also allows you to donate for more gear. So everyone ends up with AS50 TWS. What does that say? That people can not use gear they are given, they have to use OP gear to even attempt to kill somebody, and they have to pay for it to do that. Donating £10 for a virtual weapon and backpack, that will last you mearly a day before you killed by someone most likely more skilled, playing fairly, sticking to games roots, and using his own gear. Guess what? You got ripped off. It's a shame, there are some really good private servers out there that are really well run, care about those playing, the admins mantain it very well, and they have good communities. Then you got servers like this.. Who fool people, and make money of it. I almost wish you had to pass some sort of test to even host your own server, just so we could get rid of these kind of servers.

Pro Tips! Post Pro Tips Here!

A couple of combat related tips.. 1) Never go prone when initially shot at, run, find cover. Get yourself situated first, then decide what to from there. 2) Dont be afraid to simply fire randomly at someone if they have shot you. Sometimes this can result you putting them on the back foot. 3) Be as patient as you can. People get bored. 4) After a kill, never go straight for the loot. Wait 5 minutes, unless the server is about to restart. 5) Always move position if your firing at someone for more than a minute or two, makes it harder to pin point you. 6) When flanking, try not to come up the side of them. Take a wide berth, come up behind them. People regulary check their sides more than their back.

    DayZ at "149 FPS"

Also not the point. The point of the thread is to give tips and tricks on how to get better FPS in DayZ, not to say you get X amount of FPS, because you've you got this and that. Screenshots are also helpful, but you have to factor in amount of players on the server, as well as objects on the server. Most servers have custom buildings, extra vehicles, etc.. The more load on the server, the more it can affect your FPS. You find the longer the server goes without a restart, your FPS will start to drop very slightly. I max out at 60FPS across majority of servers (I only play U.K/EU servers), but I have V-Sync turned on which will cause it to stay on 60. Why do I have it on? Because the game looks horrible when your buddy infront of you has his legs 2 meters from the rest of his body. Screen tearing is the worst. I have everything set to High including Shadows, excluding Postprocess, and I think its AntiAlising? But I get 60FPS solid, which is great for recording, plus without screen tearing and shadows turned on, makes the game look very nice. Also a tip for recording, use Dxtory. You can play in 1080 @ 60, while recording in 720 @ 30. Brilliant piece of software.
  13. Yeah, I remember now! :P I was pretty much asking to be killed, never be so happy in my life to be shot through the skull! I imagine it won't be the last time Deviant will be eagerly waiting for someone asking to be killed.
  14. So over the weekend, I experienced the most epic moment in my virtual life in DayZ...... And didn't record it! <_< A group of 4 guys (One was Jeppie, think the other was Leo?) landed on Skalisty Island near to the lighthouse. Me and SiViF were meeting up near Otmel, as we had been getting about on PBX's lately. We had picked me up after I had died, and we heard the heli fly over and landed. We jumped into the PBX and got off on the Eastern side of the island (The part of it you can see from the main land). We got into position, and SiViF got a headshot on of them. They returned fire so we moved back and around. I flanked all the way round the right side of the island and came up behind their positon. I started crawling up the hill towards the heli, when I noticed the grass moving. Two of them were crawling down the hill. I got up, took a wide berth round behind them sprinting, and shot one guy in the back of the head. I had been spotted by the 2nd guy before though, and he was hammering me with an M249, I did a front flip into a bush and came round the other side with my new favourite weapon (Sa58) and nailed him. After screaming, swearing, and generally deafening SiViF, I ran back down the hill. We waited 10 minutes for the last guy to show, but nothing. We took what gear we could and got out of there. Only to stupidly land the heli on the hotel, forgetting it would disapear. I only lasted 20 minutes up there until Bandit did me a favour and killed me! :P I think after that, my life has been cut 10 years shorter....
  15. Panda, you've done a pretty dam good job with this server and I've only been playing 2 days. Kind of feels like I'm going to good ol' DayZ, unlike these other servers that are overloaded with vehicles/heli's/extra weapons, etc... Me and MrSiViF ended up getting into a fight with two uP guys in Elektro tonight, and despite losing our gear even after a valiant effort to run back to attempt to get revenge, we still had a lot of fun. Another plus is nobody makes any accusations or whines, which is common on a lot of servers. Sometimes the server goes 20 minutes without anyone saying a thing in side chat! Good job!
  16. Depends on where & what. I think Kamenka should at least have a shop on all servers, at least so people can grab some food & drink, as Kamorovo isn't much better for loot, apart from the industrial. Don't think firestations should be placed in places like Kamenka though, I think they should stay risk/reward, like Cherno/Electro/NWAF/etc...

    Your Dayz Hometown?

Anywhere with a large forest... Meaning North of Elektro is about as homely as its gets. Zub Castle is a cool spot, very high up, can see for miles. Recently taken to Skalisty Island again.. No one can be bothered to swim, but who needs to when you have a PBX.
  18. First night in the server, not too shabby. Found some dirty script kiddies base with a US Army Basic weapons box (Could you make it more obvious to see?) and got me a jeep out of it. Funny thing is, I saw the same jeep drive past me on way to Staroye from Electro, thinking "I wonder if he stops somewhere up here..?". Only a few hours into my experience, have to give big credit to the Admins, hacker free is spot on!

    Share an experience with us

Just North West-West of Stary, me and my group (A good 6-7 of us) we're moving through a small tree line in the middle of a field. We stopped to take a quick break, eat, drink, etc.. When I spotted two guys, one surivor and a hero moving across the ridge line towards Stary. Heavily geared, so naturally we lined up and opened fire. I took the surivior down with a head shot but the hero guy was downed, not out though. 10 seconds later, another group opens fire at both the hero and ourselves from the South. This was a problem, they had higher ground, more cover, and high caliber weapons. They quickly took each of us down, with only 2-3 of us remaining, either with broken legs, low blood, or generally trying to figure out "Now what?". The hero had been killed by them, and one guy attempted to move across for the loot. He was killed by myself. Then, a third group to our North East started firing at both groups, with a Huey and what sounded like more DMR type shots to our West. We were completly surrounded. 2 of us were left, I dived over to my friend to heal his leg. We decided we had no choice but to run. We started running West, towards were more fire was coming from, while remaining low by crouch running. We managed to reach the large hill overlooking Vybor. One of the groups had followed us and a what seemed to be an independent sniper had a drop on us. Next thing we knew, the Huey had landed behind the hill shouting for us to get in. We wasn't going to say no. We got in, flew away and they took us to their camp. We later found out this was one of the clans that had actually started shooting us before, but they had befriended us. We later merged into one group, only to later get into a 3 hour firefight with one of the other groups again at NWAF on the West side. Most intense DayZ ever....
  20. Name: RjTurneR Location: United Kingdom (Near London) GUID: 7e8ccbf5b35d255b423bc3bfce9e5961 Reason Wanting to Join: Wanting to find a stable, hacker free server with a good, solid community to play during the final few months in the run up to Standalone release. Also looking to start recording my experiences on DayZ and uploading to a channel that I currently have in the works. Previous attempts to find servers like this have resulted in too few regular players, ruined by hackers, or not enough of a community to keeps things fun and interesting. Thanks. Edit: After reading through the first few dozen pages of the thread, I realised I had actually signed up to this months and months ago, sometime last year but drifted away to another server. I just joined to see if it still allowed me in, which it does. If you wish to re-consider my application, thats fine anyway, as I did sign up awhile back. :) Anyway, I look forward to playing here! :D :beans:
  21. I wouldn't go for any AverMedia product, coming from personal experience. And just take a look at their forums, you get a good picture of the reason why. I bought an AverMedia Live Gamer HD a while ago. Sounded great, bypasses the CPU and does the encoding on the card, hence it not affecting frames/performence. Plus it's very easy to stream with XSplit. The issue? If you have two or more monitors, it can be painful at times to get right. It relies on an HDMI connection, and for some reason becasue of this the colours completly screw up. Hard to explain, but Green and Red look horrible on my monitor when using this (Outside and during recording). Plus any text seems to become disoriented. Records great in terms of smoothness and has no lag. But the graphically it seems to screw up, you can find a fair few issues on this in their forums. I have since gone back to Dxtory. Overclocking my CPU to 4.5Ghz has helped this. I can record 720p gameplay at 30fps, while playing in 1080p at 60+fps.
  22. Meh.. it's fair idea, having somewhat of a personal storage area/facility, but the idea of having it there would take away from the experience, immersiveness of the game. I mean.. how many people do you see storing stuff in their lockers, center of Cherno, biggest hot spot in the game, in a land infected by zombies? :P
  23. When you put it that way I can understand your point better. The mod right now is more or less hoarding guns/ammo, killing people, back in time for dinner. I guess on the standalone (Hopefully) the idea of actually gathering resources, food, drink, etc.. And stashing them somewhere, sounds fair, purely because it will be (Again.. Hopefully) be all about purely based on surviving. Kind of like, resources being scare, hard to come by, and so you take what you find, and keep it in a stash.
  24. Well, to be honest, I think the idea of being able to hide your gear from other players is actually quite unfair. Gear is like a £10 note, once its used to pay for something, it eventually goes back out into the 'rotation' to be used again. To hid your gear so other players can't access it just makes it easy. You die, run north, find your hidey hole, back out into the wastes you go with more high end gear. Now I know stuff will continue to spawn anyway, but I find it unfair that you can stop having your gear taken all together.
  25. Rarely, only in 'accidental' situations. I remember one time playing Origins, there were 3 of us in an SUV, and accidently shoved someone of this mountain road. All you called hear as we drove off was "F******************ck You" getting quieter and quieter. 100 meters later.. A complete ball of fire. Honestly we thought we'd ram him for a laugh, we didn't mean for him to plunge to his death.
