I think I'm suffering DayZ withdrawels.. I'm sitting here, on my work break, constantly counting down the minutes until I jump on the server and ruin you all! *Evil Laugh* >:( Ordered myself one of those Blue Yeti mic's yesterday, my plan is to start YouTube'ing/Streaming when it gets to June, and apparently they very good quality. I already have a mic with my headset but it's not great in terms of clarity when recording, etc.. I've also been thinking, as a send off to all the great (And horrible..) memories we have of the mod, the night before the SA is out, we should all meet on top of the Cherno sniper tower, make a fire, and reminisce.. Then all jump off for banter! :P Edit: Even better idea to add to that, we should make it an event, and have like.. 'mini-games'. Like play tag around Cherno, which consits of one guy starting off having to chase everyone with a hatchet, and if he hits someone, that person then joins him. Or Catch, a game were you drop off the tower, and people must attempt to catch you! Even better? Demolition Derby!! Seriously.. Panda, you need me as some sort of advisor! ;) -
Yeah, as mentioned.. Green Mountain? No. Theres something about that place. Everytime I go there not long after something will happen, it is cursed! Also the bridge near Vybor.. Some say a great evil inhabbits that ditch.

12 hours?! Origins needs to restart every 3-4 hours just to stay nice and smooth, let alone 12. I am lucky to play on servers that restart pretty much every 2-3 hours.. Everything stays nice and fresh. But yeah never before have I repaired a car/bike/heli and have it still in of repair after restart. I've known some not so good servers to actually rollback the game a full 10 minutes on restarts, could be the issue? The only thing that doesn't stick is drinking and eating just before restart.

Silliest excuse for an Admin Ban.

Ignore it. Rise above it. Too many admins think it's so easy to be run a server, they don't realise the true responsabilities behind it. The fact he didn't allow you to explain yourself and just skipped judgement and banned you, suggests to me you were better of being banned and finding another server. I once played on a server for many many months in a clan, we became the 'core' of the community on the server. One day, a hacker (A pretty dam good one of that for once...) starts tearing things up in the server, but who gets banned? All of us, the reason? "Dirty hacking clan". The owner of the server banned the admin the next day due to poor judgement and failure to recognise the hacker, and we were re-instated. If the admins seem like they have no clue.. Stay away. -

Worst week of my DayZ virtual life. <_< Lost every character across all the servers I use, and last night was awful, lady luck had it in for me. Just couldn't catch a break. Was on a different server but not matter what I did and how I did it, somehow I would end up dead. I was swearing left, right, front and center by the end of the night! I got work today until 18:00 but I'll jump on tonight if the goings good! -

I'd use pretty much what they use on Walking Dead. Small arms, meele weapons, and long range rifles. I'd have to have a crossbow/longbow though!! Has anyone actually used the crossbow on DayZ on zombies? Seriously, that thing is awesome for such a job. -

Server warnings and information about the server appear in red messages. It takes about 2 seconds to flick your eyes to the bottom left side of the screen. No leg to stand on here buddy, just the way it is...

Inception, although your point is valid, it gives guys that Alt+F4 during more excuses to defend themselves when people like us come running along criticising them for it. "Oh, I was just closing down my game, I was going off anyway". It's not a fault of the game. In essence, it's a fault of Windows. It happens in more than just DayZ, believe me. I can understand where you're coming from, but the abort option is there for a reason. It takes 5 seconds longer, and will avoid any of us being banned in the future for taking the 'quick way out', even if it was for a legit reason, and even if such a system is put in place. People need to start learning from their actions, I couldn't give a crap if a guy does it and gets banned from the entire standalone, that guy did it knowing exactly what he was doing. People who cheat the mod/game need to start paying the price.

The .50 Cal's, yeah they are scary.. But very OP. Very to easy to use. Just sit back, one shot. Unfair advantage on those with low tier weapons. They are balancing the game. I still imagine the day we're we are running round with shotguns, old weapons, AK's, etc.. With ammo scarce as anything and living off moisture from rocks. Now that is survival. -
The mod needs to only count the hours that you are active on the game. It seems there is a lot of buffed stats when it comes to days survived because people return to servers a month or so later. When I used to play the mod pretty much every day, the max amount of time I survived was two weeks, and that was in a clan.

Breaking Point is pretty much Broken Point. Have you watched Oshi7/Sacriel/Squrriel/Nogites streams? That mod needs patch.... Badly. Which is a shame, because it looks fun, the problem with any of these added maps is they are as buggy as anything. Even Origins has its embarrasing moments. -

Update or standalone? Either, about time they removed those from DayZ. Theres no place for them. And what does that quote mean by military weapons with attachments have been removed? Does it mean weapons like the M4A1/3 CCO? M14 CCO? Weapons like that? Although I don't think they should be removed (Some of them should but too many too list), I think in the standalone the military grade weapons, even your bog standard M4, should be made very rare. I'd prefer to see people run about with Soviet type weapons, small arms, old weapons, etc.. In Walking Dead, they pretty much have standard shotguns, handguns, hunting rifles, crossbows, and meele weapons. Thats how standalone should be, tough, gritty, zombies are hard to take down in masses, and standoff's with players are nothing more than two dudes with shotguns or something, not a DMR/AS50/etc.. -
I find NEAF to actually be quite fun. Because people see it as being 'lame' or less used, more people go there in the hope off finding that one off big loot jackpot (Yeah right..). But I have had some pretty decent fights in the Krashnostav/NEAF area.

We all use exploits on the mod. I can see it taking time for majority of players taking some time to adapt to the game, including myself. The one thing I will find very interesting is how people get on without their overpowered weapons, without their 400 vehicle server with 20 helicopters. I hope people will forced into thinking about what they do now, not just knowing that they can run into a building, loot it and be completly safe. Knowing they can sit above Elektro and kill spawns because they have snipers, no zombies will come kill them. I could go on and on.. The mod turned into a PvP fest because zombies were a non-factor, there so many exploits, and there was high end gear to be found everywhere. I hope the standalone makes a gun like the enfield seem very rare. To sum it up, I hope the standalone seperates the men from the boys! B) -
Awesome Samir, its been very well done. Sometimes when people customise the maps for their own servers, things just seem out of place, or that they just don't belong there. The first thing I wanted to do when I joined last night was have a look around, everything seems to fit just fine. Even little things like the additional barracks. They haven't just been thrown somewhere completly random on the airfield, they look they were already there. Sometimes people do that and it just makes the airfield look more like a town or an industrial area. The survivor camp up North is cool though. Credit to DrBane and everyone who helped/suggested ideas for the map! You've hit the nail on the head though, for once its not about killing each other. There is actually stuff to work towards now and take part in. I think the bandit camp could be less of a fortress and more like houses/huts/tents/etc.. Surrounded by barbed wire and sandbags kind of thing, just to make it seem like it was actually built by someone (It's a game but can't do any harm when adding realism and background to it). I asked this on a different server that I'm playing as well called ZombieWorld.eu, couple of the guys last night mentioned a guy named Panda who runs that server and that you guys are merging or something? Pretty cool, given how these are now my two favourite servers. One thing that would be awesome is maybe to see small military patrols/convoys going about, maybe even fighting zombies as a random event (e.g. Fallout if you ever tried that). That would be cool, not sure if possible. But overall, can't knock the server at all. Great fun.

Well, our run finally came to an end yesterday, after only 10 minutes of being in the server. Those uP guys always seem to have some pretty high powered weaponry, but firing at a heli with an AS50 doesn't help when theres players nearby! :( Panda, hows the merge going? I was on another server yesterday giving it a go when I came across Jeppie (Whom I have murdered a fair few times here). Some of the guys mentioned you and said something about joining/merging. They seem to have the same issue, great setup and map design, but no one to play. Although they have got AI bandits and survivors roaming about, as well as bandit/survivor camps, and AI choppers, which keeps it interesting during low population. Unfortunatly, the servers were they just pile loads of guns, vehicles, and helis seem to be the most popular. I'd like to see half of those players try the standalone, were no of that will exsit and a chopper will seem a once in a blue moon type thing. -
This server is awesome. Went to NWAF and picked up some decent kit, waited till night so I could raid the bandit camp. Took me about an hour to go in, loot, and go out undetected. Then I check out the survivor camps up north. Very cool stuff. Not to mention just randomly bumping into AI. DId you edit the map yourself? Also, have my beans for keeping night time in the server. Waaaay too many servers take away night time, why eliminate one of the main elements of DayZ! :beans:

Yeah, I've seen that on release things are going to start of pretty basic, both in game and server wise. Would be nice if they did allow dedicated servers. But yeah, I would mind getting involved on that front of things at some point. We'll see how things pan out. :thumbsup: -

Thanks for the offer Panda, I may consider it some time. Almost learnt going from server to server how things should be run, what people want ,etc... Thats what we wanted on the other server but it closed down (The Walking Dead GB if you heard of it). If you guys are able to continue into SA, then I might take you up on that, given how it's May time now would seem wise to wait until SA is out before I consider it. :D Whats the word on that front? Server hosting in SA? We still going to have private hives?
