Seriously, in the last 24 hours I am seeing sooo many already crying and complaining that stuff is broken, or that something is missing, or not working properly. . Rocket specified milions of times that it was going to be a very early Alpha. . Alpha's are usually broken or buggy as hell, or both. . You are given a clear notice on the Steam page (Very obvious notice..) that what you are buying is imcomplete, and that it is there for people who want to help this game progress and give feedback. There are various posts here and on Reddit, and other sites, were people just don't seem to get it. It's no different to the ArmA 3 alpha. In fact, it's no different to any Alpha. The problem we now have is that 1000's upon 1000's have purchased this and are now surrounding the game in negativity and thats only within 24 hours. You asked for it. You got it. Now it's your turn to help, not to cry about it.

Free DayZ StandAlone TeamSpeak @ 37.187.195.75 - ZombieWorld.eu -- SA Server is up !!!
RJTurneR replied to U.G.N - Jedi Panda's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Waaheey, servers gone active again! Expect to see me again Panda! :D -
I've been going through half these posts on this thread and it's pretty fricking shocking to be honest.. Whether your with Dean or against him, whether you call about the SA, can people just calm down and actually discuss things? Half these posts are just people throwing words at each other hoping the other backs down, my honest opinion is that the forums are now just a cluster f*** because of the constant arguing over one game. Theres a good reason why I no longer pay attention to the forums, because of threads like this, but I just wanted to make my opinion. The SA is coming. Whether its next week or next year, it's coming. Just my two cents.. Now go enjoy yourselves.

Duping gear for your clan? I think we are all guilty of that at some point.. ;)

Betraying players trust in you. Especially new players. Way back when when I was a cold blooded bandit, I befriended a new player, only to turn on him by breaking his legs in the knowledge that he had no morphine. To this day I still have nightmares.....

I used to play on a server back in the Good ol' DayZ (See what I did there.....) and the server had 3 clans, including mine. One of them was pretty small but the other was about equal size and there was about 8 of us. We're hanging around Vybor when we were shot at by the smaller clan, lasted about 30 minutes and managed to kill them all. So we moved onto the airfield, there's a small hill on the Western side that overlooks the entrance to the airfield, we set up there and waited to see if anyone came along. What we didn't know is that the other clan (And at this point quite intense rivals) was no more than 200-300 meters in a tree line nearby, and at the south barracks too. **** hit the fan and the fight lasted for 3 hours across the entire area of the airfield, only two of us survived. My heart was pumping like hell throughout and the fact it lasted 3 hours had me mentally worn out! Everytime it went quiet and would kick off the blood started pumping and even that tiny bit of paranoia kicked in. To this day the same thing happens at the sound of a pin dropping. DayZ is like no other..

Nice guys, also good idea Wayze! WBK summed it up nicely. Long stretches of nothing and then an hour of something! The thing about DayZ is that if something out of the ordinary happens, I spend maybe 10-20 minutes checking the area, not moving, only to find nothing actually happened or no one is around. But it isn't a let down, because you'd do the same thing in reality, and the let down would be dieing. Even now after several dozen months of almost playing daily, it still amazes me how a mod can completely immerse you into what you're doing, get your heart racing, and make you scared of dieing in a virtual world. This is why I play DayZ in what I like to call the 'Original' way. I like interaction and helping others, as well as getting into fights, and setting myself objectives. I hate 24/7 daytime servers. I am lucky enough to be able to play on high settings, I'd much rather have a good looking, immersive experience than everything toned down just because it is easier to spot people. For me, I'll take immersion and experience over kills and equipment anyday.

I was reading the other topic about dreams of DayZ and it got me thinking. How much does DayZ draw different people in? I'm talking about mentally, physically, emotionally.. Anything. Do you feel mentally worn out after a long session on DayZ? Have you ever got emotionally involved i.e Feeling scared, fear, paranoid, etc.. I'd be interested to know, DayZ is a very unique mod (That's right mod.. Not a game!) that draws people in more than what other games do. I can't count how many times my heart has been racing during a shoot out or when something sudden happens and I jump out of my skin. Yet I get into a fight on BF3 or something and I'm as cool as anything. Do you think it's down to DayZ involving the player more? Making you feel like you really are that person and you really are trying to survive.. I have been playing since September of last year, I have logged roughly 600 hours on ArmA II OA (Combo of ArmA/Wasteland/DayZ), yet getting into a fight still gets my heart racing even when I expect it. So what about you guys? How much do you feel DayZ involves you? Share your first experiences if you want, we all know how scared we were that first time.... ;)

Have you actually had a dream of DayZ?
RJTurneR replied to Michaelvoodoo25's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I've had a nightmare about Origins after playing it with two friends for nearly 24 hours straight (It was a dumb challenge..). The mind can only take so much abuse it seems.. -
Base building - Why is it so important to everyone?
RJTurneR replied to m.cab's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Wasteland would be a pointless mod if there was no base building. Personally, I hate bases on DayZ, the whole Origins thing looks cool, but seems a waste of time IMO. I've always been more of nomad, just always on the move, no where is home. As for Wasteland though making a base is brilliant and really does bring out the creative and even somewhat strategic side of people. I get a kick out of having a group of us with a base, hoarding vehicles and weapons, shouting "Come and have a go if you think your hard enough". I've built 100's of bases in Wasteland and it never gets boring. A lot of people just plant a base anywhere but I enjoy really looking for places that have somewhat of an advantage and then building a base there. Example I once built a base on a flat plain next to NWAF, no hills overlooking it, no elevation. I had two depots next to each other, two small camps on the corners, and then long tall walls stacked on each other to give us double high walls. No one could get near us, it was brilliant, and the admins even took it as a template and used it as their AI base. I still enjoy getting a vehicle, throwing weapon boxes in there, and just go tearing people up, which I found is more entertaining in ArmA 3. -

Panda, do you guys have an Origins server as well? Unfortunatly I got bored of normal DayZ already despite it being x2 harder, good loot its still easy to find it seems.... But Origins adds so many new dimensions to DayZ, although I can't agree with the way Origins runs behind the scenes. :( Anyone played ArmA 3 lately? So much fun now it's in beta, can't get over how smooth and good looking it is. Wasteland is Oh So Fun! -
Little late to the party but... Just installed Day Z, Now what?
RJTurneR replied to Dools17's topic in New Player Discussion
In DayZ, the party never ends... But yeah, watching YouTube DayZ vids (Especially a certain YouTuber...) will give you the wrong impression or higher expectations than what is realistic for a new player. On the other hand, watching streamers is much better. Raw, live, and unedited. Watch guys like Sacriel, Oshi7, and their sqaud. You'll pick up a lot from them. -
Dayz Origins - DayZ of the future?
RJTurneR replied to Jimmy McNulty's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm on the fence with Origins. I love it, more than the normal DayZ mod. So much more to do, the map is huge and provides plenty of challenges, I much prefer the skin/humanity system, the base building is nice but I have always been more of a nomad anyway on DayZ. But then there is the reasons stated about Origins which puts people off, the money making and such. I don't agree with it, but I came back to original DayZ after a month of not playing, and got bored after a week. I had played Origins previously and as soon as I went back to that I haven't stopped. It's a difficult one for me. I disagree with the way things are done with Origins but the experience of it is double what normal DayZ gives me. -
I'll honestly wouldn't mind waiting 2-3 months longer for SA at this point. DayZ Origins is keeping me happy at the moment, and the Steam Summer Sale is right round the corner, hopefully next week as that is my week off work.. Goodbye wallet. DayZ SA and Next-gen all coming out around the same period will silence me for another three years. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to love the SA, I'm sure of it.. But the I think the alpha gameplay lowered the hype a little, I think too many people we're expecting the finished product. I'd be willing to wait until October if thats how long it took to add the new vehicles in as well. If anyone is bored of waiting, try ArmA 3, add some mods to ArmA 2 like the ACE mod, or JSRS and Blastcore, or maybe try some new DayZ maps. And as I said Steam sale is about to drop, I think there is plenty to keep us occupied.

Dat Logic. One flaw in your post. 'Run around'. Don't want to get hit? Don't run around zombies. It's like when your taught about crossing the road, don't just run out there expecting not to get hit.
