Loads Of Broken Legs And No Morphine.
[email protected] replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Or they just give us more ways the fix our legs. Use the wood piles and a bandage to create a splint. And then pop some painkillers. Because isn't morphine primarily used for gunshots? -
There are already animals in the game, but they mostly just stand around waiting for a harvest. What if they presented a danger to us? Like in games like Red Dead Redemption, or Assassins Creed 3. Animals like Bears, Hogs, Etc can attack when too close or in self defence. What say you to this?
-
Zombies now have God like hearing... And when you anger them and go into a house, they are impossile to get past and you have no choice but to die.
-
We see that night and day all depends on the location of servers. What this same idea was placed upon the weather? Lets say that you join one of the Dallas servers, and there so happens to be a thunderstorm there... In that hosted game: you would see more rain, and lighting. It creates a more dangerous situation. Also, lets say that a Hurricane rolls in and the power is magically still active. The effect would be loads of rain and thunder, and alot of wind! And I mean A LOT! However, the game could not do earthquakes, tornadoes, and wild fires. But imagine a pure lightning storm, or a blizzard, or even a dusty wind storm... Intrigued yet?
-
Well, this game is meant to be realistic. Not fair. And it would be common to fish for food. But it all depends if you find a poll, knife, shovel.
-
As another added source of food, it would not be rare to find somebody fishing. There are an abundance of ponds and the coast serves as a great place. Why not add a fishing pole to the world? Once we find it, it can be used to fish! You would need bait however. Also we would have to find a shovel and dig up some worms. And when you catch a fish, use your knife to cean it like the other animals.

Since I see a lot of people complaining about the way our Tents work, and they are always easy to spot and loot. I have just come up with a solution to that problem... In a survival situation such as this; it would be HIGHLY unwise to camp at ground level. The most safe place to store your items and sleep would be up high. In a tree! What if we had a little tent that could be set up on a tree trunk? It would keep it concealed from any bandits on the move, be tricky to spot, and the locations are abundant. That is all fine in theory; but how about reaching it? Well, attached to it would be a fold out ladder. Simply climb it, and presto! Would this idea be good or bad for the game?
-
Also, if NPC animals ever do attack you (if that idea is put in) it creates a great way to escape.
-
Why would they even be radiated?
-
I suggested some kind of narrative element for the game before... But that was a totally different idea than what I have now. If you have ever played Bioshock; then you know that a majority of the story was told through audio diaries. What if this was placed in the game? Scattered throughout the world of Chernarus are these diaries that you can listen to. They cannot be picked up; so that eliminates the possibility of being left out. Each one has its own location and meaning. It will give you a grander scale what what has happened.
-
The Makarov would just piss it all the way off.
-
Well, did not show up on the search bar for me.
-
Yeah, a CONSTANT danger would give this game a spark that no other has. The forests are pretty much an unintended safe zone... We only encounter somebody there rarely, and never see a zombie.
-
Snakes could be a danger too.

By sleeping; I do NOT mean that you simply press a button and in game hours zoom by at a substantial rate and the suddenly your problems are gone... Not, in the slightest of what I mean. If you were to open your gear; you would see a Sleeping Bag. This would allow you to sleep anywhere (not advised) by simply right clicking the bad and selecting the "SLEEP" option... What are the benefits? Sleep will help fight illness, and slow the rate of dehydration and hunger--but once you awake you will need to have a meal. In order to keep that feeling of imminent and constant danger; sleeping would still present you STILL ACTIVE within the game world. This means that you are vulnerable to bandit attack, robbery, wondering Zombies, etc. So; this means that you would have to protect yourself while you sleep... What would be useful is a set of traps placed around your area to help protect you... I had posted a thread before about Bear Traps/Trip Wires, and other wounding/warning devices--and I hear that it is being implemented into the game :D Imagine setting up your sleeping bag in a valley surrounded by trees. In order to protect yourself; you set up tripwires with FLARE attachments all around you. These help warn you if danger is coming. Then if they get closer--they meet the bear traps! But how would you see the flare if you are asleep? Close your eyes and look to a light source. Notice how you can still see it!? Same principal in the game. End Rant: So how do you feel about this idea? Feel free to build upon!

Sleeping Under Protection.

What do you guys think of this? -
Filling water bottle with rain
[email protected] replied to spacebeluga's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I posted this idea a week ago. Damn hacker got it deleted.... The expanded ideas of this are: You would still be able to fill it in the open rain. But it would take a long time... Also if you happen to be in a town while it is raining; you can stroll over to a houses gutter and fill it full right there! -
Bear Traps, and All Other Wounding Devices.
[email protected] posted a topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
My previous thread was deleted due to the lock down earlier today. People always talk about making this game more unforgiving, so that it will keep you alert and on your toes... Well, what if we had another thing to look out for in the think grassy landscapes. A bandit, could set up one of those Bear Traps that is sensitive to the touch. It slams closed around your leg; breaking the bone and causing bleeding, along with pain. Would this be good/bad for the game? -
Yes, I am aware that right now that the Docks are a safe zone... But what if there were just small, closed off parts of town that you can go into and be 100% safe from zombies, bandits, etc. Your weapon would be holstered and this could be like a central hub where you can link up with teammates, trade, stalk. It gives a player that feeling of being per say a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. which in a way is what we are. Scavenging for the best loot, while trying to survive a wasteland of undead.

Now that was an awesome idea!

I wrote this story as reminder of the humanity involved in DayZ. It does not feature zombies of the bandits of the game. It is just one man stranded on an forsaken island, reminiscing about his past. _____________________________ Dear Kristin. Does a hermit enwallow into his shell at hind sight of being prey? Or can his disposition become his determination to rise above? I am alone; merely a hermit upon a destitute island of forgotten dreams, and a blundering history. Though fortunate I may be to have survived my capsizing; I am met with an endless void with nothing to filter it but my own presence. Moving along my sandy beach; watching the little hermits make their way back into channel; I have stumbled upon a cave. Stories that I have heard tell a strange fable of another hermit, like me. They say that a man named John Snow lost his entire ship and crew to a rogue wave. His boat tossed and turned with the tide, and then finally slammed against a rock wall. Drifting ashore with barely the clothes on his back, the hermit crawled his way inside the cavebut when he tried to escape its hold; it was blocked by the wreckage of his vessel. Confined within the darkness for months without food, water, or light; John began to images on the caves walls with nothing but his own blood It takes a right man to handle the darkness. It can become your friend if you learn to cope with it. Or it can become your downfall if you should consume it I am alone; wondering if I should even be writing this. Even if you did by some miracle receive this letter; what would you do? It could be many years before the ink upon this paper sees daylight again. But for now, they shall merely serve as my check for sanity. With my deepest affection. Arthor. Dear Kristin. I find myself restless within the shores of my own paradise. I count four hundred and eighty days since I first tasted the sand of its shores, and I wonder how I have ever survived this long. Is it by the grace of my God keeping me safe from harm? Or is the punishment that we all fear to come to pass? Am I really alive? Four hundred and eighty days since I have arrivedtwo thousand and seven days since I have last gotten to feel the warmth of your skin. I remember our last night vividly. Young, madly in love and destined for a wondrous future; I recall the sleek red dress that you wore. When the lights shinned upon your body, you began to glow like an angel which demanded the attention from all who had breath. I escorted you; hand in arm to our table and watched the others gaze upon us like royalty. It was glorious in a way, knowing that you were mine and nobody else could ever have you. My time here as a hermit is taking its toll upon my sanity; I find it more and more difficult to transcribe my thoughts and messages to you. My consciousness battles my heart telling me that my attempts merely delay the inevitable. That I am writing to nothing but a memory, a memory that should have never come to pass. With my deepest affection. Arthor. I found myself at an impasse. An old road cracked and shattered its way within the islands interior until it came to a fork. Right or left do I go; both sides equally damaged, both sides equally abandoned. My mind tells me that I may find my refuge to the left, but my heart tells me that my right shall be my savior--I took to the left. The weeds brushed against my fragile body like nails upon wood. Chest high, barely able to see over them; a silhouette appeared to me along the road. It was faint to see from my point of stance; so onward I went to discover my light in the dark--my valley in the mountains. But once I had reached my target with my new found strength and will; I backed away in terror. Before me was a car, an older model like the last I had ever drove. It's front right wheel was missing, it's red paint charred with burn marks and peeled from the rust like paper. It was exactly like when. I can't even write It still. Why did I not go right? Dear Kristin. The void is taking me. Emptiness is my calling upon this purgatory. I cannot remember the last time I slept. Was it two days ago? Or was it two weeks ago? My head throbs with pain; I see things that are not there. I sit in a pile of sandy grass where I though an abandoned house one stood proud and tall. Yet when I take a look around, I notice that nothing could have ever lived herethat is why we are in this travesty. The island has become a part of me, and I of it. My soul is its slave to wonder the shores of a forgotten paradise. I want it to end, but yet my heart carries on. I long to hold you in my arms once more, and feel your heart BEAT again and again until they match. I cannot do this anymore! Why Kristin, why did this have to happen!? Why can't I be with you, why could I not save you! I could not save you When our car crashed into that wall, the front right wheel came off and rolled ahead of us with haste. I was hurt and bleeding from my head, but you were laying still and unconscious from the blow. The smell of petrol filled the cabin; I saved myself by climbing out of my window. I rushed to your side and tried to pry the door openbut it was jammed and sealed by the twisted metal. With the weight and force of my body; I crushed your window and tried to pull you free. The smell of smoke now filled the cabin, and flames made their presence known by the engine. With all of my might I tried to pull you free, I had your shoulders out of the window. Just a little bit more, I said. That's when it blew. The force knocked me back, but somehow did not kill me You remained within the fire, not feeling, not realizing that your life was being taken. Encased within a red metal coffin; that was the last time I ever saw you. I have taken all of the notes, and all of the letters that I have written to youI folded them into boats and set them on their journey to the bottom of the channel. I sat in the sand and watch the waves take them until the last bit of paper was gone. That was earlier this morning. I now stand upon a mountain top; below me is five hundred feet of pain and regret. And I shall fall through it all, once I reach to bottomI will be with you again! I will finally be able to hold you dearly my love, my angel! Goodbye for now. I long for the moment to say hello again. With my deepest affection. Arthor.

If you have ever played Amnesia, then you know what I mean already... I not; there read on! In Amnesia you slowly begin to slip away into insanity when you are in total darkness for too long. You begin to see things, and loose all control. What if this was put into the game? The longer you stay in total darkness listening to the sounds of the dead outside, the more you will loose your sanity. This can only be cured by moving to a light source.

I am trying to install the mod, but every help video I see does not have the torrent link in it. Do I save that one also? I tried already, but it does not work for some reason. Also, I have 7 Zip; and when I have the files ready to extract--I do not get the EXTRACT HERE option... PLEASE HELP! Now when I try to start Operation Arrowhead, I just get this small screen of code and nothing happens.

Do I Download the Torrent link?
[email protected] replied to [email protected]'s topic in New Player Discussion
Yeah that was all correct. Something just messed up with the game I believe. So I am re downloading it.
