Can I Run DayZ Retail (POST HERE)

Hi guys, I recently bought a 7870 HD graphics card, but my PSU is missing a 6 pin PCI-E connector. Does anyone know if the Antec HCG-620M Power supply will do the job? Is it a good brand to buy power supplies from? Thanks for the help in advance.

wil this laptop run dayz on low settings

Hold off on buying a laptop. Building a desktop yourself will give much more power for a much cheaper price than a laptop.

Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Everyhting seems fine, except that you forgot to tell us what GPU you are using. You should have no problem running Dayz, probably Mid-to-high settings with 30 fps. That CPU sounds like a big bottleneck. It only has 2 cores. DayZ is pretty CPU intensive, so you'll need 4 cores for having a good experience with it. Otherwise, you should try downloading ArmA 2 Free and checking how that runs on your computer (Just remember: Dayz is alot more CPU intensive than just having ArmA installed.) EDIT: Sorry for double post.

I'm not sure where you live Barret, but if you have access to newegg.com or Amazon, you could pretty much have a 500$ decent Desktop computer that includes a mouse, keyboard and a computer monitor. Like I said, you have to do some price hunting. And as for the 100$ PSU, that's only if you get a 1000w one, even if it's from the best of the brands. For running DayZ and beating the next-gen consoles, you would only need a 600w one since the new graphic cards that are coming out from nvidia and AMD are less energy intensive, but they have way more power. So, just do a bit of a price hunt on any online services you got in your country. Checking prices will only take a bit of your time. Edit: Check this article on RPS. You can use it as a guide (More or less) on what to get for your PC: http://www.rockpaper...-a-next-gen-pc/ . Just modify the PC parts on that computer according to your budget (I wouldn't get the Haswell Processor. Any previous gen i5 with 4 cores from intel will probably beat the crap out of the processors on the Next-gen consoles).

@Barret_killz: My advice: Don't upgrade yet. The difference between the two processors you mentioned is next to null. Instead, wait for the prices to drop on this year's hardware (GPUs, CPUs, HDDs, etc.) and upgrade and build instead a desktop. If you wait, you can easily end up with a 500$ desktop PC that runs Dayz with really good fps and with high settings, you'll just need to do some price hunting here and there and you'll get more power out of it than running it on a 1000$ laptop.

I think that you need something beefier than that if you're going to upgrade. 2 cores just doesn't cut it (In my opinion) for dayz. Try and get a 4 core processor, if you can.

The 8 core one is the way to go. The HD 7750 is simply going to get old in a couple of years now that the new generation of consoles is coming out and it'll probably have very low fps on dayz. If you could get a 7870 HD instead of the 7850, It would last for years to come. Also, try using getting a video capture card if your planning on uploading videos to youtube or streaming. That'll make your life easier when recording videos.

(FIXED) Micro Stuttering - Please help

Okay, I think that I have fixed it. I disabled all startup programs it it's running a lot smoother now, without the micro stutterings. The Three suspects are: ZoneAlarm, RadeonPro and ATI Catalyst. Edit: Beans to all that helped me! Yay!

(FIXED) Micro Stuttering - Please help

I don't know about the hardware. I have been playing dayz since June, and this micro stuttering only begun happening about 1-2 months ago, I'm not really sure, so I have no idea if it's hardware related (Maybe something is failing in my PC?) And yes, I have tried lowest settings, highest settings (Someone told me to put shadows on the highest settings, since anything other than that will use the cpu), and just trying to disable as many things as I can. My theory: It might be a beta patch or maybe something is corrupted with my Arma install. I'm gonna try reinstalling ArmA+Dayz completely today.

(FIXED) Micro Stuttering - Please help

6850 HD, yeah. Sorry, kinda missed that typo. I play in 1600x900, but that really doesnt matter since I have fiddled with it and no matter what resolution I use, it still stutters. I have also disabled AA inside Arma, and still nothing. Nothing forced. In my driver, I have AA Method: Multisampling, Filter: Standard, Morphological filtering: off, Texture filtering: standard, Surface format optimization: On. My HDD is a Hitachi HDT725025VLA380 ATA Device. It has 250 GB, at 7200 RPM, SATA 3.0 GB/s, and I think that it has a 8MB BUFFER (Hope that answers your questions. I have no idea which other data matters about the HDD). As for programs running in the background, I have ZoneAlarm with no Antivirus scans schedules, so it doesn't look for virus on startup. And I don't have any other programs running at the same time, except DayZ commander and Steam sometimes.
  11. Hi guys, I have been having this really wierd problem as of late. Everytime I play dayz, I get this wierd micro stuttering (Frames hang for like .05-2 seconds). I begun having this micro stuttering 1 month ago and it really renders the game unplayable. So, I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this problem. I have tried updating my drivers, tried using RAMDisk, tried to place my router closer to my computer (to speed up internet), and I have reinstalling dayz. *Which version of the game did you purchase? STEAM or RETAIL or MIXED: STEAM *Are you running an Arma 2 OA beta patch? If so what version?: Yes. 103419. *Which method are you using to launch the game? I.E Sixupdater/steam/batch file: DayZ Commander. *What is the Error/Problem you're having? Please provide screenshots if possible: I'm having micro stuttering problems. Even in fields where there's supposed to be really high fps, I get the stuttering. *Your PC specs: CPU: AMD FX-6100 Six processor at 3.30 GHz each. GPU: AMD Radeon 6850 HD. RAM: 8 GB RAM at 1333 MHz. Windows 7 64 bit. So, does anyone have any idea how to fix the micro stutters? I'll pay handsomely (With some beans) to whoever helps me! EDIT: I have also tried modifying the .cfg files (The max render things) to no avail. Forgot to add that to the list. EDIT2: It was one of my startup programs causing the problem. It was either RadeonPro, ZoneAlarm or ATI Catalyst. Hope that this thread helps someone else in the future. Thanks, Mac.
  12. Really great server, with really friendly players once you get to meet them. I have had some of my best DayZ moments in this server and the admins are great at keeping hackers at bay, and if any hackers are found, they are quickly dealt with. Come join us!
  13. This server rocks. I had a great time last night when we got ambushed (By we I mean armchair and me) by a couple of guys in an SUV waiting for us to get back to our car. Long story short, they ran away when they heard the might of my AS50 :P . Seriously, try this server out. You won't regret it!
  14. I found this thread Ketel1: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/99113-remove-player-from-database/ Hope that it helps.
  15. I'm sorry for double posting, but I just wanted to let everyone know that deleting my profile from the server's private hive actually did the trick. I'm now able to join the server with no problems at all. So, if anyone if anyone is having a similar problem, have the server admin delete your profile from the server. Thanks again, Oppa.
