Are you guys finding that Euro servers are more friendly / mature?

Agreed! The game is amazing in so many ways. I've been gaming a long time and have never experienced the emotional highs and lows that come with Dayz. Knowing that the glitches are being worked on is good enough to me, it only means that an already great game will some day be even better.

If you're in a party can you still talk to other players in game that aren't in your party?

I won't let bandits ruin this game for me, I'm friendly to everyone I see and I will help out if I can.

I I was playing last night and had a couple of hours on my character and was semi geared up…Mosin but no ammo, pistol but no ammo, I had just found a backpack but was barely keeping myself alive and had nothing to eat. I was looting a small village a couple of miles from the coast when I heard some doors opening and knew that someone was near. I didn’t want to encounter anyone and protect my precious gear that had taken me a couple of hours to collect when around the corner came 2 fully geared dudes. Military clothes and backpacks and both brandishing silenced M4s. I was sure this was going to be the end but gave a friendly wave and told them I was unarmed and friendly. After a brief and nervous standoff we started chatted a bit and they gave me a care package! I opened the gift to find a couple of cans of tactical bacon, bandages and a bottle of water…and then they went on their way. I was so happy to see this kind of attitude in the game instead of the shoot on sight attitude. These guys were on their way to the coast to help out fresh spawns…if this type of thing is going to continue then there is great hope for this game. Thanks guys!!

How do I turn on the debug? I played for the first time last night and thought it was off due the settings on the server I was on.

Thanks for the input guys I will probably go ahead with it but still move to standalone when the time comes. After all its only $39 US.

Hi everyone, I’m a 40 year old gamer and have been playing on Xbox for several years, mostly FPS such as Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3. I’ve been growing a little tired of these lately and looking for something more mature…after stumbling on some DayZ videos online I’m thinking that this is it. I’ve been reading the helpful stickied posts, watching vids and other helpful tips for Noobs. I was about to download Arma II yesterday but then read about the standalone version of DayZ that should be out in the near future. Would there be any big advantage to me waiting for this? What I haven’t been able to find is whether or not the standalone will compatible with the existing version or if there are any advantages to me waiting. Any advice appreciated, thanks. Mark.
