  1. Currently fighting with melee weapons feels really awkward in its current implementation but I really enjoy the idea of melee weapons in a zombie apoc game. I was wondering if a design change might be warranted with the introduction of melee weapons. The design change would be simply to lower the infected movement speeds to a fast walk/hobble at maximum. The change would then be that weapons cause a much larger spawn of zombies to take place when ever a weapon is discharged. In my mind zombies as a adversary never really works well, I myself enjoy them more as a force of nature, something that needs to be planned around when considering actions in the world. The idea being that 1 or 2 zombies are never the problem (since they can be easily dispatched via melee), the issue is when you get large groups of them that require weapons that then eventually leads to being overwhelmed, since they never stop coming. I don't completely dislike running zombies in the game, I just was wondering what role rocket intends their role to be, I think the slower zombie model would work really well with the weaponless start that rocket is trying right now.

    Infected Speeds and Melee weapons

That may be, but melee functionally is in the game and being tweaked. IMO if melee is going to be introduced as a serious means of defense zombie speed/lethality should be looked at.
  3. Feedback: No guns at start has made a new fresh character far to defenseless for the world. The player needs to have some means of defending himself from other players and from zombies. Macaroni pistol was the perfect gun for zombie/player defense. Feedback: Food spawns too low. I went all over cherno hitting apt buildings, grocery store, church, and the fire stations. Took me over half an hour to find one can of beans. This is to harsh when the only other way of getting food is to find matches and knife, both equally low spawns.

    Seriously what happened Rocket?

Hey morons, An alpha means you give feedback and bug reports when a new build is released. This guy gave some feedback. Screaming "it's an alpha" makes you sound like a fucking retard.
  5. Have not played since the night patch, I simply wont play on a night server with the current visibility.
  6. Love love love everything about this mod, but the two days nearly every server has had serious hacking. Jets, choppers, tanks, I saw what looked like a nuke go off in cherno last night. Just want to play on a server that has no crazy hacking shit.

Taking a break from Day Z

Yea I am not really complaining, just anxious to get the game back to a playable state. It seems like there are hackers on every server now, before it was a pretty rare occurrence. I will be back playing every night once the hacking has at least died down a bit. Seeing this screenshot made me decide to take the break:

    NPC Military Kill Groups.

Imagine NPC convoys going down roads in highly contested areas killing zombies and players alike. This could be a source for really high end transportation and weapons for players but require alot of planning and firepower to execute. I think it would make the world alot more dynamic.

    NPC Military Kill Groups.

I feel like having them as a faction means they would have to drop gear of some kind. I think it would have to depend on the military groups being hard enough to kill.
  10. I am currently stuck at loading for any server I try to join. Character name was Hicks.

Stuck on loading. Can't log into any servers :(

    A question about infected speeds

I think that if you make them any slower then the damage they do needs to be increased. Maybe even using the new infection mechanic to create a situation where you take a huge amount of blood loss from a zombie hit, or if they are slowed to a walk make it so one hit = infection and ultimately death. If we are talking about zombie realism, they never have been really fast, the scary part is that all it takes is one slip up (on the part of the non-infected) to end you for good. I like zombies the slow and super dangerous way simply because they become much more of a obstacle this way. -The safest thing is to kill them, but it takes alot of ammo since they only die to headshots. -The risky thing is trying to get around them by running and sneaking since it puts you so close to them. - my 2 cents
