The word "Friendly" - is it over used in DayZ?
elf cakes replied to therunningmanz's topic in Gallery
yes it is. it no longer has any meaning -
Fabulous, thanks :)
-
when do you expect to be able to add more zombies? i'm waiting on that before i get back into dayz, players are all hostile because co-op is not necessary with the current amount of zombies
-
Personally, i am between worlds here. I put so much trust and hope into dayz before it was released and as of yet i still have nothing to show for it. The game barely works at all, and performance has not improved at all since release. Then they come in with the news that they're gonna make it for ps4 (and most likely xbone too). I don't really know what to think. I feel like a sap for buying it. I feel like we've paid for the console versions to be made. With current progress as painstakingly slow as it is, how on earth could the team currently working on dayZ possibly make another two iterations of the game? Are they gonna take on more staff? Would these new staff be funded with our money?
-
ah, i was under the impression that you took a couple of months off or something.
-
forgive me for asking but what amazing updates are you seeing here? it's still a total buggy mess.
-
again, its just awful optimization on BI's part. it's super duper cpu intensive which almost always ends up bottlenecking it, hence why pretty much everyone has shitty FPS in arma 2 even though it came out ages ago. the story mode barely functions at all. in my opinion it's a total joke of a game, and the only reason it has had the success is the idea behind dayZ.

that people playing dayZ are generally assholes. and that dayZ needs some serious goddamn optimization
-
i wouldn't think so, they're both pretty horrible for FPS. arma 2 is horrendous so having a mod of that only seems to complicate things! my advice would be to just play other games and wait it out until dayz becomes playable for the 95%. (if that ever happens, it's been out a fair while and the FPS has only got worse :/)
-
dark souls 2 is really well optimized for PC. dayZ on the other hand is just unplayable on all but the top 5% of PC's at the moment. the system requirements for dayZ are really not accurate at all.
-
arma: the only game where having a GTX 780 still gives you terrible fps.
-
you can't deny that dark souls 2 has FAR superior graphics to arma 2. have you played dark souls 2? your opinion seems very vague and as if you just picked it up online. why does it need to render 250km at once? what do you gain from that? the most you can see is like 2km away anyway, even if you're in a helicopter. it's a joke of an engine that barely works on anything. my friend has an extremely high end system that can barely run it on low settings. yes, it's in alpha stage. it's been in alpha stage for a long old time, and it will be for a much, much longer time with how slowly things are moving. my FPS in game has not improved at all since launch, if anything it's actually got slightly worse somehow. give it time everyone says. why? after playing it the other day after not playing it for a long time i realised just how abysmal it really is. the zombies are a complete joke and the game barely works at all as a whole. how anyone can have the patience to play it for prolonged periods of time is just beyond me.

dayZ is made from the groundworks of arma 2, a game that was already so poorly optimised that 90% of people still can't play it with decent fps even today. if you add to that the fact that dayZ is horribly optimised aswell, you get yourself one big lack of optimisation turd sandwich. hence horrific FPS on pretty much all systems. dark souls 2 on PC has far superior graphics and runs at glorious 60fps even on my relatively mid-specced laptop, and that only came out a couple of weeks ago. it's all about the optimisation man

Can we get an option to turn off the heavy breathing?
elf cakes replied to Wiggin Miller's topic in General Discussion
although i do agree that the heavy breathing is over the top, i don't agree for the same reason as you :P -
i already addressed this in a previous post on this thread, please read that for my reply to you.
