1. no 2. no 3. if you're close enough, you'll see their character's lips moving as if they are talking. It's danger close though. We used to have a girl in our community that was deaf. She avoided interactions at all costs rather than taking the chance of running into someone who would shoot her because she wouldn't talk. She played like a ninja, it was incredible. She'd be in a tree 20 feet away from you without you knowing, only to pop out and meet up. She had prime situational awareness, despite zero audio. I wonder if she is still playing? It's not impossible to get by though, you know. It'll be an extra challenge (and extra reward when you succeed). Perhaps finding a roleplay server who's rules are no killing onsite or something would offer you more interactions with patient players?

Where did you look? Don't expect Elektro/Cherno police stations to have anything.

I'm not a big fan of the offset camera. It causes weirdness like this, which looks really bad when watching someone else. You used to have to point yourself at the pump, the offset camera makes you have to point your crosshairs at it.

Killing on site in coastal towns is one of the lamest ways to play the game.

I agree with the above, with one caveat. The longer you wait to buy the standalone, the more it will cost. So, if you can you should buy ArmaII and add the DayZ mod to it. You should also buy the standalone, but only dabble with it or participate in testing the experimental branches, and save yourself a few bucks now. Check in often and play the standalone when it gets released, or hit beta at the least.

My guess is that even if the towns appear small, the concentration of map objects in them might be greater or equal to larger cities. The northern towns have been built from scratch by SenChi, and they are thick with little bits and bobs. They seem to feel more detailed (which is why I prefer to run around up at these new towns). Running through good ol' Cherno feels more empty between buildings, even though there may be more of them. To be honest I don't really experience a slideshow up there.

Did you see the part where the developers have already said "no" definitively?
