This. This is why there is a favorites feature, because its a joy when you locate a server with good ping and active admins that set a restart plan and keep tabs on how there server is running. There are a great many servers out there with great ping, but havent been restarted in ages so its a slideshow when you join. I usually find 2-3 good servers and keep to them.

Storage. For me, that makes the bike a temporary vehicle only. If I am going out to get resources, I need more room than just my backpack to bring back the goods.

So there has been a hacker about on US 4157 in recent days. I noticed a Melon Monitor, then there was a number of dome tents and a railroad car spawned at the NWAF. Right now, there is a Monky Monitor back on, and someone killed me on spawn in, and has killed me a couple of times as a fresh spawn, not 50 m from where I spawn in. I just run an die, and am definitely not being shot. No formal report to be made here, just hopefully a head's up to the server admins.

Hi, I recall reading somewhere that you can store items inside a backpack, and then put that backpack in a tent. I'm wondering if/how this works. I recently ran out of storage space on my 2 tents, and decided to make some room. I raided several supermarkets and ended up getting 4 additional backpacks, 2 for each tent. I filled one with food, one with medical supplies, and 2 with ammunition; I had a ton of surplus. I'm pretty sure this actually worked for awhile, and then I noticed yesterday that all the backpacks were empty. The weapons, GPS, and vehicle at the camp were untouched, so I don't believe it was raided. I'm wondering if this is in fact a proper way to do storage, or if it doesn't last beyond a server restart or somesuch? Perhaps them all losing their contents was an error on my part of not waiting long enough after putting on the backpack, and checking its contents. As we all know, the UI can be finicky at times. Do any of you guys do this? Is it a safe way to do storage?

I've come across an old bike that had a busted wheel and hull. if you got on it, it would only ride 3kmph and refused to auto-repair. I was sad.

When I'm looking for a vehicle, I will usually start by trying to find a bike. I have been able to find them at their spawn points semi reliably. I then use it to travel to the spawn points of vehicles that I'd prefer to have. Once you find the vehicle you'd like, the bike will help you to make trips between it and industrial spots as you work on repairing it.

My L85 was eaten by a tent, so you should go with this other offer.

One of the "weapons" against zombies that I think is underrated is using those empty tin cans, soda cans and whiskey bottles. They can be thrown and nearby zombies will be attracted to the sound where it lands. This is super handy when trying to navigate through a city and needing a particular alley clear.

If you've got one loaded, and the server doesn't allow them, what happens? Are you unable to log in, or does it revert to face#1 or somesuch, allowing you in?

It's okay, it was a temporary one. I found a clan base with 7 tents at it, and was doing some raiding and bringing the gear to my own tents on a different server (which are safe). I still have some excellent items in those, but alas, no civvies. I'm wearing hero myself, or I'd do the cammo swap with ya. Cammo & Ghillie players make my trigger finger itchy, you just don't know how they'll play. At least as a hero, I have the slightest chance of not being shot at on sight. Though, it has been my experience so far that it doesn't make a shred of difference (at least up north).

Yes it does. It even has specific options so you can use steam overlay etc. I use it myself, and highly recommend it. :thumbsup:

Its possibly they were simply server hopping; that is, logging out near a valuable spawn point, and jumping across several severs checking whats spawns until you find what you like. At least people farming a spawn have the trade-off of having to spend alot of time there doing that risky business. Server hoppers can spawn in right behind you and you'll never know it. Look at the bright side, you have another 5 hours of surviving and gearing up to look forward to!

Ahh! I just lost a pair of civvies that I found last evening. Server restarted and ate my tent while i slept. If it comes back, you're more than welcome to them. :thumbsup:

Had a Melon Monitor on US 4157 today. I noticed it prevents me from saving my tents, though I can put gear into them. Fortunately didn't kill me when I aborted the game via the usual means. How does this get fixed? Does a scheduled restart fix it? Should I start moving my gear off this server if more drastic measures need to be taken by the server admins?
