Oh, dude that is awesome. I've tried to explain how great this game is to the gf, even showed her some youtube vids of other people, but I'd love to have some footage of myself actually playing. Yup! They killed the crew, but weren't good enough to get me! After you left, we convoyed over to the Polana factory as we had nothing better to do. We were just being idiots throwing flares and shooting zombies and their posse took up position on the north hill overlooking the factory. They started shooting and we quickly realized it wasn't coming from our group. An intense firefight ensued, and we killed a few of them (NOT ONE of their bodies were left as they died, bunch of combat loggers!) and they killed a few of us. Pop flanked up the hill and got killed by friendly fire as none of us had night vision and shit got chaotic. I was the only one who survived, and did my best to hide and protect the vehicles, but they sent down guys to take them while continuing sniper overwatch from the hill. I had very little ammo, because it was mostly stashed in the truck to make inventory space for looting, but I did empty an M4 magazine into the truck as it pulled away. This is where I got hit by a zombie and noticed I had no bandages on me! Strange server stuff started happening which prevented me from recovering any of the gear from my fallen comrades, and prevented Steak from blood bagging me when he got to the factory. I was passing out left and right and was just trying to find some canned food to get to a reasonable blood level. As our guys respawned, they made a beeline to the factory, and kept eyes peeled for the vehicles on the roads. In an amazing feat, Typical_Noob managed to kill the driver of the white car as he drove past him at top speed using a double barrelled shotty of all things! He recovered the car and we used it to start forming back up, but by that time it was 4am and I couldn't stay on any longer. My goal now is to get my truck back! It was an intense end to what up to that point had been an entirely crazy evening already. Chalk full of awesome.

As far as I know you can do it while holding any weapon. ;)

You can already do this you know. Throw a chemlight and walk up to it, use scroll wheel and choose "pick up chemlight". You're now running around with it in your hand (as opposed to on your belt) just as you described. This also works with road flares. Alternatively, the G17 pistol, Remington shotty (I think) and M4A3 CCO all have functioning flashlights attached to them.

I think people complain about snipers in DayZ for the same reasons they complained about them at their inception in real life wars. Of course back then you had armies in a field lining up and volleying shots at one another, and the sharpshooters were seen as ungentlemanly because they took shots at you without being man enough to stand there and trade volleys. I think the same is true in this, and many other games. When death comes from afar and the unsuspecting victim feels he isn't given the chance to defend himself, the victim feels like they weren't on a level playing field with the sniper. This is especially true at the long ranges that snipers can reach out and touch someone in this game. People rarely complain when they go toe to toe i a shootout with someone who has a similar weapon as them. Human condition really. We prefer a "fair fight". That being said, I don't complain about snipers.

Hands down the most exciting night I have had in DayZ in the 4+ months I have been playing. Believe it or not, it got even crazier after you logged off. At one point everyone except me got killed. Vehicles got stolen, zombies sliced me and I was caught without bandages. When help finally arrived in the form of a mustachioed Steak & Potatoes, I was down to ~1,000 blood but I couldn't get blood bagged due to some funkiness. It was nonstop drama, banditry, desperation and excitement. Hot damn!

Hiding a body should require an entrenching tool as well. Drag and carry are already in Arma, not in DayZ I guess.

I waited for them at the tents for what seemed like forever. By the time they got there, they grabbed the 2 M24's and chatted a bit then logged off, lol. No matter. I found a vehicle and made my way north to meet AirCav. FatHairyBeast got on and we shared some Pepsi cola ;) then I drove to Palona and met up with the rest of the gang. Poor Steak died to Zeds on his way to us, but the banter we all had was a riot. You missed my rendition of George Michael's Father Figure, it was a tour de force.

Sayonara. Good to man up and take your lumps and not ask to be unbanned or some such. Obviously as you know, two wrongs do not make a right. You should never lose your cool over a videogame. They're supposed to be fun. When they aren't, go do something that is.

Nope. Those are only visible by you. I don't know if any cheat stuff could let someone see it, but it's doubtful.

G17 all day long. It's laser accurate and you really cannot beat the flashlight when you have no NVGs. It's ammo is also very common.

I had such a great time last evening on this server. Got to play with Steak & FatHairyBeast and a couple of other dudes. They are a fucking riot. This is definitely my new home and it was so enjoyable it even inspired a new sig!

I just ran them to the main menu and closed. You can use the opportunity in OA to adjust your characters face, change your ingame name, and your graphics options too. Hi, Just got killed again by a hacker. 2nd time in as many days, probably the 10th or more time in total and I am just done with wasting hours of my life to be some kiddie's ragdoll. I stayed on the public main hive because I got attached to my +50,000 humanity hero skin. I worked hard to get it, but I just can't take the cheaters anymore. I am looking for a secure private hive with active admins and as little to no hacking as possible. I am looking for a server that runs plain ol' DayZ. I don't want 24/7 daylight, extra weapons, +500 vehicles or any of that nonsense. 3rd person on, crosshairs or nameplates I could take or leave. I'm not sure what whitelisting is actually, but if it helps keep the clientele in check then I am interested in that as well. I am in GMT-5, so preferably something that has a reasonable ping from the east coast of the States. If this sounds like your private hive server then please let me know. Thanks.
