As an American who speaks only english and some 4th grade spanish, I live for moments like that. The Cz dudes really add to the immersion!

He's only got 2 posts on the Audio forum from over 2 years ago. Thats it. I don't know why he even bothered to make a thread asking for discussion, if he's not going to participate. The sounds are a great improvement, but I'm not going to give feedback to a wall. Hell, Hicks has more posts in the audio subforum than the audio guy.

Easy explanation! Unreal team does not have the same agreement with Automobili Lamborghini that Bohemia does.

Not sure where you're looting, but there is oodles of clothing out there. I refuse to carry anything but pristine rags as a result. ;)

Until you sneak up and axe him in the back of the head because he is too focused on camping military tents. ;)

1PP has alot less jerks in it.

Been running about the past few days. Having a great time. No problems finding food and loot, plenty of ammo and a reasonable selection of guns. About the only really weird thing was the lovely and talented Jana losing all the color on her poor body. It happened a few times: Other than that, it was a relaxing & adventurous time. Bonus glamor shot. I like the interplay of trees and clouds at distance:

I recall initially them initially (waaaay back) wanting instanced versions of underground bases. Load into them like an interior cell in a Bethesda game. Guess that isn't going to happen.

I used to run around with a banana equipped in my hands as an outward gesture of non-hostility. Nice to see them back.

Lightning in a bottle has certainly come and gone. However, I have friends who wont play Kerbal Space Program because it doesn't look modern enough. People will always make poor and uninformed decisions. As long as you know whats up, don't feel you need to defend anything. Their loss, ya heard?

I like the public hive. I think it should be run by Bohemia, if it can be run properly with decent support etc. Its the original vision of the game, and should not be abandoned. We're all on the same Chernarus+. Same goes with persistent zombies, keep trying, don't resort to ranged spawning. I'd rather see the game try to take care of people hopping servers and spawning on top of you. If you try to spawn in within 500m of a player, it wont let you, pick another sever (or it auto pics one for you with the closest time of day, ping etc).

I feel like the Gews of Herb, lol. Hey, baby!

I still want them weed bags. Last time I was in Cherno, at like 3am, there was this baby out on the street corner... it his diaper. I was like "Yo, baby, what are you doing out here in the middle of the night?" He turned to me and said "Leave me alone, I'm selling weed!" Thats when I knew the apocalypse had really begun. These look like premature sativa/haze buds. Someone pulled them too early. If you tried to sell me buds with that much stem attached (bottom two), then I'm going to need a bag thats overweight. Man, someone needs lessons in proper pruning to encourage flowering. Just leaving your plant like this is no good. Between that and harvesting too soon, no wonder those buds above look like amateur hour. Thankfully, these are non-feminized so we'll be able to continue the lineage. Just remember to yank those males out the garden unless you're doing a seed run. Actual Death Star strain info: If you wanted to actually be pedantic about this, the buds shown above are not really representative of a Death Star kind of grow. I'd also love to see some moldy buds, for those times where other types of plants have a problem and you find those bugs on them. You can't pull mold off buds like bugs off a tomato plant, so this would be evidence of a failed crop, and time to start over.

Having to resort to "dynamic spawning" of zeds is supremely disappointing.

It did rain a bit on me, but my settings are all on so low that I barely noticed it was raining, and could only tell by the wetness text in the left corner. Didnt seem to affect my fps.

Finally managed to get in for a couple of play sessions. I have this terrible laptop without a graphics card, but I will same the game ran very very smooth for what itr was able to display. Had no lag issues, and once I was able to get in a server, I stayed in until it restarted. Did my usual route from Berezino to Polana, to Gorka, to the Dubrovkas and up to Govozdno... where I made a most unsettling discovery. The house that I have called my own has finally fallen to SenChi and his editor. She was a great place, one of those 2-story green houses in a nice little corner of Govozdno. Oh well! Fought a bunch of different looking zombos on the way and that was pretty cool. Only a few weird things: Crawling zombie crawling towards me with their torso underground and only their legs pointing straight up as they "crawled" at me. Some loot items were spawned in a lame fashion, with rooms full of the same and slightly different colored items, ie. a single bedroom with 6 bandanas in it, 4 red and 2 purple. Or a garage with 3 tires in it, all spawned inside of each other. Ran into one dude, we just said hello. He offered me stuff but I was all green and didnt need anything. I can only imagine how much better this game runs on a reasonable setup now.

lol. You have a point there.

MC Scat Kat, is that you?

Tried to get in a bunch. Failed to connect over and over. No thanks.

They wont carry on after death. Lest we forget, the soft skills are intended to give value to your character's life, such that people will value their +25 wood gathering skill accumulation to the point that they will second guess their desire to kill on sight, should they be killed and lose that skill accumulation. Their whole presence in the game is to add value to your currently alive character. This puts the soft skills in a very tough place, balancewise. They have to be reasonably trivial enough to not be OP (getting +11% more meat per gutting isn't going to break gameplay) but at the same time be valuable enough to snap people out of their call of duty playstyle thats essentially ruining the gameplay for many players. "I could shoot at this guy, but that would be too risky as I don't want to lose my super-mechanic skills." I'm not sure that would be enough for the adrenaline junkie type kos player to change their playstyle. Those people value their waterproof camo clothing, their super army gun with all the sexy attachments etc far more than their character's life. Those players might not even participate in the activities that give you soft skill increases; just a quick run to the gear up spots, and then pvp. Beards wont do it either, because you aren't seeing them behind gasmasks, bandanas and balaclavas, the standard outfits of the kos people. Perhaps the above in concert with super rarity of guns and ammunition... maybe there is some kind of combination that will be powerful enough to dissuade people from killing everything they see.

I guess you didn't see the video where Hicks went over the above roadmap and discussed it point by point, where they are, and why?
-
This is the antithesis of "don't get attached to your gear."

I have some screenshots of the pyramid head from pre-alpha. Are we allowed to share them now?

You two have been talking to my ex-wife, haven't you?

Yes. When I walk in the rain with clothes on, I get wet and cold. Then I either dry those clothes or put on new ones, once I am out of the rain. Just like i would do in the game. To wear everything waterproof is to remove one of the survival experiences in the game. I don't play the game to dodge the experiences presented by it.
