Horrible server admins @ The Syndicate DayZEpoch server

R4zor, played a bit tonight and ran into the zero loot situation. Had a buddy spawn in at Cherno. He and I were the only ones on the server. He ran from the grocery, to the firestation, to the hospital, to the other hospital to the grocery again, around and around without one piece of loot spawning. Not so much as an empty tin can. Server admin hopped on, we told him about it. He manually restarted and then my friedn was able to find some reasonable loot spawns. Nothing major, but at the very least things actually spawning. I was up at Stary during all of this, and finding that everything in town would not spawn loot, save for a few of the military tents. I scooted through all the small residentials, the grocery etc. I'm not taling abiout junk loot spawning, I'm talking about completely empty buildings, one after another. Upon that restart, a few things began to spawn in the grocery store, before I hightailed it our of town. On the plus side, I got Sepsis twice tonight. Even saw a skull inside the blood icon. Pretty cool. :thumbsup:

Nighttime is definitely back with the 1.8.0.2 update. Try to find a watch and keep tabs on the server time. So far, all of my evenings have been full moons. Very reasonable when you don't have NVG.

If 100 is too much, and 67 is too little (I go to the tents at Starry and 12 of the 14 tents are empty, one has a g17 with no mags and the other has a bandage, and m203 flare and a can of food), how about trying a number in between, say, 85? Keep in mind I don't really know the ins and outs of the loot bias system.

I asked about this earlier. One guy said the server admin needs to update his BE filters. Someone else said it was a regression of the 1.8.0.1 filters, whatever that means. I'm still not quite sure if admins need to fix this or what.

Using DayZ Commander reveals at least 359 vanilla public hive servers still in operation.

G17 if I have enough ammo for it; it's only downside is the rarity of the ammo. I find the sight to be the best and the flashlight always helps if you don't have NVG. I'll run with this gun until I am out of ammo, and then wil trade it off for my #2 choice, the much more readily available 1911. The ammo is far more plentiful, and .45 rounds for the revolver can be converted for it (giving you a magic +1 bullet).

I noticed a few items are actually spawning 1 meter above the ground. Due to my failing memory I only can recall one spot where I saw this, thought I did see it in a few spots. The one I do know about was in the grocery store, in the main front room, towards but in front the back shelves. Floating Twinkies!

I've seen them in the forests, and in open fields. They're bright green and you will see them beyond the distance that you see the regular grass around you. Once you get close, they become hard to see with the grass surrounding them.

How much are you willing to pay for DayZ Standalone ?

I am willing to pay up to $15USD for it in its Alpha state. No tents, no vehicles, there is going to be a lot missing. If it is a $60 game in the end, I think 1/4th of the price is fair at Alpha release. -
What weapons do Hero's normally carry?

I am a hero and I carry an M14. Hatchets are for the zombies, M14 is for when other players decide to get frisky with me. At +55,000 humanity, I have plenty of wiggle room to fight back.- 44 replies

Hi, I would like to suggest that Razor add in new zombies to the mod version that look like dead survivors, heroes, and bandits. Since bandits now have that new (old) skin on, they can have their headwrap removed and the zombie skin texture added and not look the same as a survivor zombie. This would make it seem as though players that have been killed and turned into zombies themselves. I would suggest they be a rare occurrence, but there nonetheless. Thoughts?

Will pine trees & docks be safe havens in the Standalone?

Not sure if any of the mods that are testing the Standalone are at liberty to speak about this. I really hope you can no longer run to docks, or run into a simple pine tree to avoid zombies in the Standalone. I hear that standing under helicopter blades has the same effect. Presumably since it's being made by Bohemia, those kind of mod-related issues can be overcome. -

I asked about killing Bandits and the boost to humanity and was told it never existed, though I am sure it once did. Additionally, the group of 4 I run with started taking fire from a lone survivor (bad idea) 2 days ago. I shot him once with an M14, he broke his leg and was knocked out and we left him to be killed by the zeds that were swarming him. I lost 2,000+ humanity. A few days prior, one of the fellas in my group shot and killed 2 survivors and saw no change in his humanity. Humanity system is very wonky it seems.

I have no doubt the retards that like to KoS will fire their last 5 round from sniper hill in Elektro for the fuck of it. They die, and the spawn again, and get 5 more rounds to skullfuck someone again. "if they have to" means nothing, because there is no penalty of death. You simply start the deathmatch all over again. They don't give a shit about anything but killing someone because it is a shitty brainless deathmatch to them. So what if they die, you can grab another life instantly and go about deathmatching again, ignoring the fact that a zombie apocalypse is going on. To them it is a videogame, not a zombie apocalypse simulator. Humans would not survive the zombie apocalypse if all the non-infected people just killed each other, It's absolute insanity. People do so because it's some stupid videogame, and they can't wrap their puny minds around something larger than pwning n00bs, and because they're 14, 15, 16, or complete idiots. The idea is to survive, regardless of the colatteral cost to others. You're just trying to survive. I pray that the SA is so brutal that most of these losers just stop playing. I want a game where one out of 20 people you meet is hostile, and the rest are more concerned with helpng you and themselves survive the zombies.... the whole point of the game. The rest of you idiots can go play Epoch or whatever RamboZ mod you like. /drunk. -

If gear has no value in the mod, then why do people camp towns with sniper rifles and shoot people at random, even newspawns, never venturing in to collect their gear? -

KoS is legit and should be included, but it should have some kind of ramifications such that it doesn't become the dominant playstyle.
