Look in buildings other than military barracks. Those will all be taken, you have to find them in barns, orange brick buildings, the "school" etc.

lol, ouch! All the important stuff like a morphine goes at least in the backpack, if not in a medical case or small protector case, for extra insurance against breakage. :) -

I leave goody bags for people to find. If I can find a spare backpack on the ground, I will load it with goodies from the nearby buildings I don't need, and place it in the middle of the street.

I think an auto-run key defeats the purpose of accomplishing a long-distance journey; the journey itself, and having to manually perform it, is part of the work required to receive the reward of being at a new location. -

I'm telling ya, that building has a sign on it that says "school" in Russian. "школа" Edit; I just looked at one of these in the new town, it has no such sign on it. Now I might be crazy, but I am sure the one just south of Vybor by the bridge does have a sign on it, as thats where we spawned a zillion times during the pre-alpha testing. I swear I'm not losing it! -

A snap-to-grid and a free-rotate mode would be great. Sometimes you might want that full range of motion to place a weird decoration/board/item. -

How do I carry more than 3 weapons at a time?

Its not a glaring difference, but it is there; you run/jog/sprint faster without holding a weapon. You'd see the difference more pronounced over distance, much like the slight bonus the hero got in running in the mod. -
Here is a video of Arma3 ricochets. I imagine something similar is in use with DayZ. 6:03 For some reason embedding with a start time didn't work.

Can't do that. You can only hold the 2nd rifle. If you prefer to run around with an axe as you mention, you would need to drop the 2nd rifle on the ground, take out the axe, use it, put it away, pick up rifle, profit. -
