  1. I guess I'll post this in the Suggestions forum, since it technically is a suggestion. Can someone please post a link to this thread at https://twitter.com/ctorchia as I don't have a Twitter account and am certainly not opening one anytime soon. Thanks. A friend showed me this twitter update from Chris Torchia that shows off the new "Waterproof Bag" which will be a backpack: I know this product as being reffered to as a "dry bag", I use one for kayaking and canoeing. The problem with the above picture is that it represents the bag in its non-waterproof mode. Essentially, this is what it looks like when it is open, and ready for you to put your hand in. It is not waterproof in this configuration. This is what one of these things looks like when it is closed and waterproof: You close the top, and roll it 2-3 times over with the bag's waterproof fabric. You then curl the top so it can buckle closed and it is now waterproof. If we're going to be running around with these on and 1) not want things falling out, and 2) want it to actually be waterproof, it should have the top be like the 2nd picture. Can someone send this to Chris Torchia, please. :beans: Thanks!

    Hey, Chris Torchia (Waterproof Bag)

I can't imagine they wouldn't know it either, but I'm at a loss as to why they would've done it like this were it not a mistake. Mistakes happen of course. It'll be fine for a placeholder until they're done adding all the other stuff, but Billy the Backpack Maker needs to take it back to 3DSMax or whatever and redo it properly (on his own time were I his boss!) ;) Thanks for passing it along to Chris. Feel free to reserve the results to a personal mustachioed conversation.

Weapons - Where Should They Go Next?

Finally a legit suggestion! :beans:

Weapons - Where Should They Go Next?

They can make the mil gear as rare as they want, but unless there is a plethora of different civillian weapons to be had, you're just going to see the same 3 civilian guns over and over in every shed, barn and house. A wildly exaggerated example: 26 different military guns - your chance to find any of them is slim. 4 civilian guns - the same ones over and over everywhere. I'd rather have 26 of each type, and simply see more civillian weapons available, regardless of which of the 26 models.

Weapons - Where Should They Go Next?

Enough of the military weapons. How about a slingshot?
  9. try re-reading what I've said. Once again, I'm not dictating anything. I'm calling you guys out for being poor at testing.
  10. 1. I proved my point that people that don't understand the purpose of Exp play like they do on stable. Unfortunately, this includes you. 2. I'm not demanding anything. I'm simply stating what would make better use of the unique testing environment the Devs give us. Shoot someone for drinking a soda, in a testing environment, is incredibly counterproductive. This is coming from someone who was invited to participate in the pre-alpha testing, mind you. Where, you know, we actually tested stuff.

What clothing set/weapons would you add if you could?

They really really really need to start filling out the civilian sets more. Camo should be a luxury, a big deal. If you were to think about the % of irl clothes that are regular civilian vs hunting and military camo, its heavily lopsided. We need: Longsleve shirts Thermal underwear; oldskool waffle style cotton, or modern underarmour type Fishing vest Longsleve and vest versions of fleece pairs of shorts winter gloves mittens medical gloves dress suit components: slacks, vest, sportscoat camelback water thing for vest slot windbreaker etc etc Lastly, there needs to be some advantages (other than not looking like a cold blooded killer) to wearing civilian clothes. Currently, about the only advantage to anything civilian is the mountain pack providing the biggest storage. Of course, that is balanced by its enormous silhouette. An overwhelming % of people wear all mil items, because there really is no disadvantage to it. You can carry huge ammounts of items and be (arguably) harder to see while doing it. Having a weight-based stamina system should help a little, but you'll probably just see slower Rambos instead of less of them.
  12. I'm complaining about it in the context of the Experimental build; which should really be a place to test out the new additions to the game. If you want to kill people, go to stable. What a ridiculous statement. Don't pretend like a random killing on the exp is for science. In your example, what real information is gained if you shoot someone and they don't die? Where is the analysis? You aren't both on TS talking about the damage, logging it, sending the results to the devs etc. If you want to shoot someone on the Exp builds, get your friend on TS, meet up, and perform testing. The last time I was on Experimental, I was approached by a newspawn who promptly said "suck my dick" and started punching me in the face. After a brief lecture about the purpose of the experimental servers, I promptly split his skull with my fireman's axe. Sometimes you simply cannot fix stupid.
  13. Killing people on experimental is stupid. You should be on those servers to test the new gear and whatever is in the exp updates, not run around and pvp.

    Paramedic clothes

I found them in a hospital. They don't look anything like what paramedics and EMT's wear where I am from (which is not where the following video takes place):

  20. At this point in game development, fiddling with all the stats of every piece of this or that gear makes no sense. They should just be adding them as fast as they can with a reasonable initial setting, and then tweak them in Beta.
  21. We had long discussions back in the mod days about adding cigarettes to the game. Should they be like a Metal Gear type of calming agent tool? Of course not, because cigarettes don't calm you, they do the opposite. The discussion came to the conclusion that they would be cool, but their use would be suspect, as they is really no reason to have them ingame. Dimebag of weed? I can't imagine the uses of this as well. Will we be able to roll joints with a piece of paper? Will we be able to fashion a pipe out of wood by whittling with a jackknife. Maybe smoke through a Pipsi can like a meth head? What other drugs would/sould be added, and why? Syringe of Crocodil perhaps; that would fit the surroundings quite well. Having these develop into an in-game currency would be cool, but again, there would need to be an actual "value" to them or there would be no reason to collect them.
