Lets not discount the fact that BI has already made tons of money on an old game because of the popularity of Rocket's vision. I also disagree with fun > realism. For me the realism is the fun. Its what makes the game unique. Personally it sounds like youd much prefer to play a more casual arcade style game. Lucky for you there is another option.

Because Rocket is completely involved in the community I have nothing but trust that he and his team will put out a great game.

If you ping the server using a command prompt does it show really high ping times or only when you're trying to connect? May also help updating router or access point firmware.

Id say best feeling is finding your first chopper or getting your first kill. Worst is spawning in the ocean and having to swim with no land in sight (panthera).

Same thing happens to me. Supporting a hacker is almost as bad as hacking itself. Banned both of them. I call it 'guilt by association'.

Ive been using Vilayer for the past few months and am seriously considering a move to another host. Vilayer seems to be hit or miss really. Lately its been more of a 'miss'. Seeing as theyre one of the higher priced options I feel like there is just to much down time. Their response time is somewhat acceptable. Ill be going with a lower price option in November. I'd rather sit at a loading screen and wait an extra 20-60 seconds and have maximum uptime with great customer support than have to consistently open tickets while paying a higher price. I may end up going back to Vilayer but at this point im willing to see how green the grass is on the other side. Thanks to all who have voiced their opinions on hosts in this thread.

Im kind of torn on the whole arm band/friend-foe identification idea. I think a major part of the game is that 'oh shit is that you' moment. I think most of us who play within groups can honestly say we've come very close to killing a friendly on accident.

Ever since I was introduced to DayZ I havent turned my console on in months. It literally collects dust at this point. I do think the new game market has been stale the last few months though and will pick up now that the winter release season has started. I will have to force myself away from DayZ to get in my dosage of AC3.

Sure - If i sign on to play and none of my friends are around I still play. Its more fun to play with friends but its still enjoyable running solo.

Agree with this. There is absolutely NO reason to penalize people who choose to KoS. Its a legit tactic and play style. IMO it keeps the game exciting.
