Vilayer is average at best. When the server is working its great. When it goes down, get comfy for a day or two. I know some people who love vilayer and others who dont. Its really on a user by user basis. I recently left them and went with a cheaper option and its been working out great.

@OP There is a simple solution. Rent your own server and you can have it go dark. Youll likely end up playing alone or with a small group though. You said it yourself, hardly anyone likes playing at night. In its current form its an annoyance. DrunkPunk and Walrus basically summed up playing at night.

Well my subscription with Vilayer has finally run its course. I plan on switching over to DayZ.ST at some point today. Ersan - is there a cutoff time for the instant set up? I wont be home from work until roughly 6 PM EST I didnt want to make the purchase until I got home but if there is a cutoff then I will go ahead and make the purchase in the afternoon. Thanks -

:starts thread:: today... on Chernarus... I applied topical cream... it was glorious... but should I have applied the topical cream? I also found some beans and a pistol. I was happy and slightly less itchy.

Yeah not going to lie when I read the topic I was expecting something totally different. Its all about what your expectations are really. There are going to be some subtle differences and also some very big differences between standalone and current mod. For someone in your position it might be beneficial to wait say a week or so after the standalone is released and watch videos as im sure there will be tons of breakdowns and analysis to help gamers make a decision they feel comfortable with.

Be sure to download one of the DayZ launchers it will make installing and updating the mod easier for you. Personally I recommend DayZ Commander. -

I just offer sexual favors and it seems to work. ;) Kidding aside its harder to make friends now than it was before because the majority have turned to PvP. Like its been said, easiest way is to make friends here first. -

I wouldn't call it 'overreacting'. If people like Namalsk they dont really need a rhyme or reason its all personal preference. If anything it could be said that the quality of the map is being overrated. -

Falling damage, very unrealistic!

The easiest way to avoid falling damage is to not fall. If you are clumsy and fall a lot you might want to carry around the necessary supplies to keep yourself on your feet. (no pun intended ok maybe just a little) So simple it just makes no sense, I know. -
As it stands now I like Lingor Island the best. I do think with more than 80 vehicles Chernarus has potential to be the best. After reading what most of you guys are saying im going to have to play Namalsk more.

Voted yes for basically the same reason. Having it off allows you to get a better sense of your environment. The music sounds can be deceiving sometimes. -

Its not always easy to understand one another using just text. I know that sounds stupid. But when I say 'realism' what I really mean is what you described. If you and I had a verbal conversation about the subject we'd be talking about the same thing and agreeing. I guess the easiest way to describe it is you say tomato I say tomato. Am I making any sense? I havent had my morning coffee yet... -
