  1. SOOOOOO many times when you stumble across 2 Quadbikes both are missing one wheel! This would be a logical addition too. Like finding boxes of ammo instead of magazines, it just makes sense.
  2. I like the climbing idea, also goes with a much needed ability to jump! For melee, I think a seperate "melee/kick" button would fit better into the way most people already play games. (Think Halo/CoD/BF etc. but without the instakills) That plus a "throw" button, both context sensitive, so you could smash a bottle over someones head or throw it. And you could kick any zombies back (punch/shove if you have your sidearm equipped) , for very little/no damage , no matter what's in your hand, to give you a little space to shoot or run. Just no hitting people with your guns. Your sights won't stay all that accurate if you wrap your gun round somebodies head a couple times. For your humanity idea. If a belt of human hands makes you lethal with a hatchet, you should have to collect the hands yourself. But I would dome that guy at range every time, no "Are you friendly?" for him! In fact I would probably cap his ass, then wear out my new "kick" button on his head.
  3. Good stuff !! Add a colour slider/picker for clothes, then we're cookin' wi gas! 2 thumbs up

    WHY!?

If you continue to have problems with the game running fine and not being globally banned, remove your hard drive and pop it in the microwave, on high, for about 10 hours. This may or may not help. I haven't tried it myself, but a video on youtube assures me it works. And if it's on youtube it must be legit. I look forward to your report.
  5. I know what you mean, should just take a chill pill, but death kinda lacks any permanency or any real cost, when it should suck to die infinitely more than it does currently. When you're part of a decent size group 9 times out of 10 someone can grab most of your important gear and just hand it back to your new clone as if nothing happened. And this fuels the Kill on Sight banter ad nauseam. I can't think of any solution to that off the top of my head. But I rekon, slow down Zeds just a wee wee bitty and make them hard as nails, shoot 'em in the head, scary to deal with. It would make hordes less of a trivial nuisance and more of an engaging challenge. I'm sure everyone has their own ideas about where this game is going, but I think if general overall survival was more difficult, every facet of gameplay would improve. Or at the very least feel more rewarding.
  6. Damn, LMG and teleports ain't enough. Got to make himself bulletproof too? Can't these guys just get a "You win, well done.jpg" to fap to and leave us to play the game?

    Apology

I must say, I never considered baiting and camping just to kill randoms. No doubt would leave me feeling dirty. I've left survivors with broken legs and a morphine injector just so I could find time to *smokebomb* bug out. But I got my hero garb by being brave when I needed to and having faith in people. Truth be told, it doesn't always pan out, but I ain't no cold blooded killer. Not yet.
  8. This is the way people should be looking at it, not "Oh well, time to respawn". It's not like there's a lack of PvP oriented games out there for those who wish to play them. The fact is I personally wanted a zombie apocalypse survival scenario to play with others, to survive and thrive together, YES there are bandits, but even then, shouldn't they be resorting to banditry because they have to to survive? Because I only see people playing DayZ as it was intended AFAIK (you would have to ask Rocket bout that), and people who want to make DayZ a deathmatch with added beans. Edit : Also need to make zombies spawn without the need for players to be in a certain range, I can't even count the number of times I knew there was someone nearby because zeds had spawned. That and when you sit in a car the streets are empty until you step out, then BOOM "Spawn of the Dead". Kinda kills immersion IMO
  9. The reason for survival getting boring is precisely because zombies are only a threat when you press the wrong button, or get stuck in a doorframe, or put your gun in your backpack and it gets deleted. And PvP is all well and good in short bursts, (Defending yourself / Robbing folks) but it's not the point of the game. I see people camping Cherno and Elektro every day, just shooting noobs. Not for loot, and definitely not in self defence. To me it just shows the social ineptitude of a lot of the community. And that is MY OPINION, so don't anybody go getting all butthurt cuz I called ya on yer emotional retardation.
  10. Need to make it so there are maybe 20 matches in a box, and if it's raining it might take 2-3 matches to get a fire going. Also there seems to be a misunderstanding in some of the community, player interaction ≠ SHOOTING EVERYONE.
  11. When you exit a vehicle the location is saved, so it should be in the same location when you log out/log in. Unless you try to save it off the edge of the map, which should send the vehicle back to it's spawn point on server restart. The "save vehicle" command only saves the gear stored, like saving a tent.
  12. Isn't DayZ supposed to be 5 years after the zombie outbreak anyway? I would guess any people trying to flee the initial wave would be in cars and stuff, I assume they didn't leave much in the way of vehicles in Chernarus? I think the vehicle spawns should be randomized more, not set spawn points, but a chance of a vehicle just sitting anywhere in a field/on a road/in a garage would feel more natural (as natural as zombie apocalypse gets) As for players not using them. For me personally, every single time I have fixed a car/quad/van I got hunted by invincible, teleporting hackers. There are a lot of aspects of DayZ unable to reach their full potential in Mod form, whether due to lack of features (bases, cooperation and trade between players) or the open, hackable nature of ArmA 2. Just have to wait and see how it plays out. I'm looking forward to the future with this one. I think trying to deliver a big truck full of medical gear to an encampment or trading post is where the Bandit/Hero thing will fully kick into gear too. (think Mad Max 2 "Just walk away and we will spare your lives... Just walk away" lol )
  13. OMIGOD It's a steel cardboard box J.R.
  14. If there was a "Throw" button instead of a selection of items that can be thrown it would add quite a few possibilities (throwing knife/hatchet) also eating beans should give an empty can, same for drinks. You would still have the option to drop them from gear, but also gain a potential distraction tool. I like the idea of molotovs, would give another use for petrol since I can never keep hold of a car for more than a couple of hours. Also I've read interviews with Rocket where he mentions building underground. If that was to involve terrain deformation, a hole with a tarp over it would be ace home defence. If they can make their custom engine do that, and fire propagation I will be well chuffed.
  15. I agree with Box, there are WAY too many hi-spec military weapons in game, and anyone can use them! It's crazy! A bow and arrow would be badass for range, and quite easily craftable. That's the kinda weapons that should be lying about the place. Homemade stuff instead of AS-50/M4's all over the shop. I want to sharpen a big stick with my hunting knife, or duct-tape anything onto anything else. AWESOME
  16. In PlaywithSix you automatically update to the most recent version depending on the server you try to join. All older versions will have server names greyed out. You should be running 1.7.2.6 , if not try joining a server with that in the name and you will be prompted to update
  17. Maybe not at full sprinting speed, but I'm pretty sure it's possible to get something, a grenade for example, out of your jacket pocket without standing perfectly still, while a gang of nutters try to punch you to death and eat your face, or a bandit stands and fills you with bullets. Only a proper ninja can get good use out of 'Nades, I just hoard them in a tent now. I think you should also be able to just drop your primary weapon to "quickdraw" a sidearm, would be cool for a panic situation, and REALLY handy that one time you left all your spare mags in your bag!
  18. The "Noob beach landing" is the most fun you can have in the game in my opinion. Everybody knows it SUCKS to lose your gear when you've spent 3+ dayz scavenging. But after a ragequit or a rant on the forums you suck it up and jump back in, no big deal. Script kiddies aren't going to stop instakilling players any time soon, I've just started to think of it like an unseen accident (heart attack/stroke/meteor from space in the face)
  19. While I recognise that meat would be fine for ages after it's ripped from a carcass in the real world. For all us amateur butchers, a bit of rot would add to the roleplayness of the survival situation. It's not like the it's completely realistic at the moment anyway (If I had eaten 15 tins of beans in one day I would drop a MEAN log)
  20. @slartibartfast Yeah silly idea, right? DayZ REALLY needs to lose the zombies/survival/authenticity. Should just pick a team and shoot the other team. Even unlock killstreak bonuses, and start with all the weapons you'll ever need, throw in an ammo pool instead of weapon magazines, make it so if you don't die from bullets straight away you'll be fine in 10 seconds and release the same game every single year with a different name and pretend it's new! Oh wait....
  21. I like the idea of different stages of decomposition, (Need to get someone working on KInect for smells) Would be cool to have to occasionally eat some green hairy pork so you don't starve, but throw it up half an hour later!
  22. The fact is a LOT of people wouldn't recognise a hacked assault rifle just by looking at it. Only the totally obvious Thermal AS-50 / G36 / PDW SD really stand out. In my opinion only those who use scripts to spawn weapons into the game illegitimately should be punished. When the whole purpose is Explore/Loot/Survive, punishing anyone for picking up a better gun isn't appropriate. I'm personally not keen on taking anything I think may be hacked (I like to think I have morals, YMMV) but I won't go out of my way to learn what is NOT in the game.
  23. I've had tents appear empty with the tents right next to them still holding their stash. (Could have been robbed but seems very unlikely) And I've had a tent which was set up, loaded up with guns and ammo and saved, less than an hour before a server restart, which caused it to reappear with nothing in it (No time for anyone to have robbed it, one of my team was standing next to it) Seems random, but usually don't have to worry about it because most of the time they disappear and NEVER come back.
