  1. I believe the "kiddy game" comment was referring to the unlockable super powers, and it would be hard not to disagree. Either that or he means collection of piles of things in the first place. If you've ever played any Assassins Creed did you find all the flags/feathers/other shit? probably not, it's feckin' boring. I still grind my teeth when I think about super Mario 64 - collect the 8 red coins. EDIT: :| Just had a Hazy Maze Cave flashback

    Real ammo names

It's the only AKS-74-U that's in DayZ, as far as I remember. So AKS is forgivable in my book because there's nothing to confuse it with in game. And you have to forgive people for not knowing all the models, not everything is obvious. I personally think if our survivors aren't military personnel, the ammo should be known as "9", "5.56", "7.62", "12.7" etc. (whatever is written on the casing) It would help add a knowledge buffer between people who know, and people who think they know, and would involve the player more in their characters situation. And the pistols should be Colt, Glock, Beretta etc. , More recognisable names to people who aren't well versed in gunology. And basic enough to make sense. They should have to guess an ammo type, but it should be obvious when you can't chamber .45 you're rockin a 9.
  3. Staroye and Dolina (toward the factory on the north side) for some reason if you ever see another person there, he's always got a few buddies in tow. EDIT: spelling
  4. @Lights Out - I don't think carrying a base structure over between deaths is too far fetched. You can already fill a tent with crap and kit your new clone out in no time flat!
  5. I quite like seeing some script kiddy getting banned and combat loggers getting booted, but I agree with the "client not responding" and other pointless stuff getting scrapped. I don't understand half of what appears, I've seen the same profile get more than 10 Global Ban messages in one night. Sometimes twice within a minute! How does that work?! Does Global Ban mean something different than I thought? Surely there could be a toggle or a button to hide the messages, or only display what's relevant to yourself.
  6. Well then you know to be nice to heroes when you see us. We're not taking the easy path, but it doesn't need to be made any easier. Bandits are people too, they're just valid targets.
  7. Nice! I think the GPS will probably be removed from standalone, (map reading is part of the survival aspect) so I don't know if the sensors would be applicable. Might be overpowered to have them anywhere too. It's great to see a well thought out suggestion, most I've read consist of "We need bases!" I'm also pretty sure Rocket is leaning more towards subterranean base building (if it's possible) but damn, I want that cut out guard dog. He looks mean.

    Non-pvp Servers

If you don't want to be running through a zombie infested deathtrap, full of murderous bandits and heroes of the apocalypse fighting for survival, you're playing the wrong game. This is DayZ... Someone will shoot you for your beans, bullets or bandages, it's inevitable. And it's your job to survive the madness, or add to it. Non pvp becomes a walking simulator, where your major adversaries are doors, stairs and the weather. Just play a legit hero, you'll still get shot at a lot, but you'll have fun doing it. (between bouts of pure rage and dismay) ^_^

    Tactical Bacon

I need Tactical Bacon to wash the Mountain Dew out of my mouth, tastes like curse.
  10. Caravan? Fallout New Chernarus. I'm game.
  11. Are you telling me this is not an accurate portrayal of your personality? Because I certainly hope so. You have not given me any reason to think any more of you than I do, owing to my first impression. You seem to have grasped the meaning of the game almost entirely, save for the fact that "Play how you want to play." applies to everyone, not just yourself. I can see how the snooze and lose loot system seems unfair from a distance, but take a moment to realise, it was the same for all players, and everybody else deals with it fine. I apologise if you find the way I reacted was too harsh, but I'm sick to death of people wanting to bend the fabric of DayZ to suit themselves. Particularly since the only truth is, DayZ is what you make of it and the joy and true accomplishment come only after rising to the challenge. Just because a certain few (who deserve, and maintain ZERO respect from any decent honest member of the DayZ community) script and cheat to get ahead and spoil the experience for others, do not think for one second, that hands you any right to shift balance of the playing field to the detriment of others. And just because you have been killed by a better geared survivor (Kos bandit, shit happens), don't presume that fate has dealt you the worst of the pack. We have all been in the same boat. Don't get shot, get smart. Be pissed at me if you want, but turn that rage into commitment, get your shit together and come hunt me down in Chernarus. I'll be the guy wearing the vest. ;)
  12. By equal I mean, one party doesn't have an advantage in terms of combat mechanics. which is ALWAYS the case in DayZ. You can't just change the rules to suit yourself. But I'm guessing you've already started to devolve into a script kiddie, you seem to have the "I deserve to win because I say so" attitude. Enuf o' yer pish
  13. Now your speaking my language! Mama mia!
  14. If everyone could define themselves with a simple recognisable label to describe their role in the world, it would be a LOT easier for other players to decide who is worth anything more than just a bullet. Maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part. EDIT: Nowadays, shouting "friendly" just doesn't cut it.
  15. Everyone should be equal in terms of combat ability. Any bonus/detrimental attributes should be in passive skills/abilities and things not really affecting firefights. It really wouldn't be fair for low humanity players to suffer an actual disadvantage in a fight (not being able to see or shoot straight would seriously fuck up PvP ability) they already stick out like a sore thumb with their shemaghs.
  16. A time out period (your character just stays in game I assume) wouldn't be fair if someone was legitimately d/c by a powercut or something (it does happen occasionally) Should just impose a feature that makes alt+f4 kill your character a split second before the program closes.
  17. Probably more of an observation than a suggestion, I'm sure nobody has enough time on their hands to complain about technicalities ^_^ I imagine "Regulator" and "Avenger" are pretty much the same guy. That's generally my jig anywayz. For the boring survivor section, you forgot "Freelance travelling repairman". I'm forever stumbling across bloody bambi corpses filled with engine blocks and scrap metal.

    Phobias

How do you know when you're too close to thunder?
  19. Yeah, stupid biology. Can't wait for evolution to fix that one. It'll probably be in the next patch.
  20. @ Lobo >>>>WHOOOSH>>>> ^ Joke flew past (head was below) EDIT : apache25, you should make that your real name, Infamous is just popular spelled different And wall climbing machetes. Genius is rarely appreciated in it's time
  21. Caves would be a really good addition. Going to need somewhere to keep all the bears and wolves! I wonder if they'll give us a touch of rabies in the standalone. The only time my character got sick was from a random chance hit from a Zed, and I just so happened to have antibiotics in my kit, so it didn't pose a threat in the least. I can't even begin to imagine what array of fantastic diseases await us in the future. Gotta catch 'em all
  22. +1 Hoping standalone map (Chernarus +) has a big fuckin volcano on it so all the ghosters and alt+f4 pussies can respawn there and burn. And I can sit and watch.
  23. If there were more potentially repairable air vehicles on the map, the people with the hidden Hueys (admin and co. most likely) wouldn't be so afraid to take them for a spin. With only 1 legit chopper per server, once it's fixed up and stashed it'll hardly ever see the light of day again!
  24. But if you're playing as a group, the way you're describing it (individual clues per player) would get terribly complicated. Everyone would want to follow their own trail of clues. Not to mention that every single combination of clues would have to be scripted and coded, and within a day I guarantee, every outcome possible would be posted on this here forum rendering it pointless again. I'm not simply meaning to bash your idea, it's just that the logistics of what you're suggesting are almost impossible for a game of this scale, with a community like we have. And you would get your ass chewed out big time if a trail of breadcrumbs led you to dropping a nuke on the whole server! Funny as it would be.
  25. I saw a mod for DayZ with something similar to this already included. It was called "Operation Arrowface" or something... I forget.
