DayZ wildlife could certainly do with a bit more zest. It would be good if there were recognisable game trails through the forests too. Beans. :beans:

Lay off the "serious sauce", Ashwood. You're going to give yourself a hernia.
-
Strictly speaking, having every single person EXACTLY THE SAME is less realistic than some form of class system would be. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses IRL.

I think a "trade" menu would be good, so both parties would have to accept what's on offer before the trade will be completed. I'm pretty sure Rocket said himself, there will be no currency. Any barter system will have to be decided by the players, and based off perceived value of items in any given situation. Lets face it, when starving to death, it's bound to come to the point where you would trade anything to anyone. You could potentially haggle yourself a DMR for a few tins of ol' Heinz 57 and a Mountain Dew. :P EDIT: spelling

Maybe give it a couple of weeks if you're retarded, buddy. ;) The fact you have more than one idea in the topic makes no difference. None of your ideas are new. I'm not here to attack you personally, I don't even know you. But your topic is a prime example of "not particularly useful", and it doesn't add anything. There was a time when people could find a worthwhile suggestion on this page. And DayZ development may well have benefited from these topics. Now the suggestions section is full of repetition and people who think this is their personal blog. The pinned topics are there for a reason, to keep this section user friendly. I very much doubt Rocket, or anybody else, would want to trawl through hundreds of the same topics, there's a good chance some of the best suggestions on this forum are now lost to the ages.

I heard the flashlight-melee respawn-killing trolls LOVED it.

Put an End to the Hackers. Here is How.

When you were in the future, did you see if Half-Life 3 was any good? -
^ Made me laugh. The threat of an hour or two lockout would be enough to make me pull an extended "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" in VoIP while I'm bleeding out. Every time. In all honesty, I would LOVE it if DayZ had more permanence to the perma-death. We all know it would be griefer central though. Might work on a white-list only private hive, since the admin would have more say as to who got into their game. You have to remember, if everybody fears death more, a lot of people will be more likely to shoot on sight and save risking their hide. Would make for a really intense experience. There would be nothing stopping you joining another server after you die, it just means you can't go and loot your own corpse, or instantly gear up at your camp.

LINKI've only ever caught the "cough" from zombies. @indian_crowe: Players are immune to the virus which caused the zombie outbreak, and the "zombies" are infected but not undead (like 28 days later), so corpses wouldn't rise as zombies. I agree there should be zombies with the same clothes as survivors. It would add to the confusion and paranoia. I don't recall Rocket ever saying "Vests and baseball caps make people immune to infection"

What's the jig with the multi-coloured writing? It hurts my eyes. :| EDIT: It will be a download, and everyone will have access at the same time, there's no need for any advance-ordering setup. Pre-orders for hard-copy games (on disk) makes sense. You wouldn't have to remember to go to the shop. You might even get it a day early. For DayZ, the early-birds will be getting a heavily discounted final product. (when it comes to full release) Pre-order would serve no purpose.

New death messages for who killed you and what weapon, good or bad (poll)
[email protected] replied to thelonewarrior's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This would take pretty much all of the suspense out of a ranged fight. When you're unsure of a kill, or when your buddy dies from a shot out of nowhere. These moments build tension, and increase immersion. Death messages would turn the DayZ anti-game into just another online deathmatch. You can't strive for authenticity, then turn around and have everybody know who killed who instantly, like all players have become psychic. If you knew every time, who killed you and how, it would remove a vital part of the DayZ paranoia. The Devs should know better than to add it. -
apachegoogleflower25?! :o Run for the hills! It's troll-spam Megazord!

First step towards DayZ's group setup.
[email protected] replied to Lt Kidd's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yeah, I've made a custom face, but most servers have a maximum custom file size set to 0KB <_< I would rather have faces implemented than armbands/flags. It would allow people the chance to recognise others, and can be used by everyone. A clan armband isn't much use to a lonewolf medic, for example, but you might remember his face. I imagine the armband idea would tend to gravitate gameplay towards KoSing anyone without the same armbands as you. Something I am totally against. When DayZ becomes clear-cut red vs. blue, it's ruined. EDIT: A small custom .jpg or .png for each player could be used as a "spraypaint-tag", and could be used for clans, but could also be as simple as "Chabowski woz 'ere". Like Zorro. If there was only one allowed per player, per server, bigger clans could tag and (attempt to) claim bigger areas, and solo players could leave them a little message in their camp. ^_^ -
You showed up complaining like a little bitch, and showed total disregard for beez' effort to respond to you civilly.Your ignorance will be the basis for opinions of you throughout the community. Congratulations, you made something different here.

Fat Zombies & Bitchin' Customizable Hairdos
[email protected] replied to fathairybeast's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
How can you be aware of your surroundings if you can't see past your fringe? On the bright side, with your "Flock of Seagulls" hairdo, no zombies will want to go near you. -
Standalone Snipers: Make them work for the kill
[email protected] replied to That1neguy's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I definitely hope there's more skill required for sniping when standalone hits. I can't imagine how a steady squeeze vs. rapid pull of the trigger would translate into computer game controls, but it would be a welcome addition. I would also like to see bipods and the ability to rest against trees and walls introduced. This should be necessary for accuracy over range, and would help line up that second shot if required. With the inventory overhaul I'm guessing items and weapons will be weighted (for backpack storage limits, stamina etc.). I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that this carries over into weapon handling. I think the length of a weapon should have some effect on the speed at which you can take aim while standing too. It doesn't make sense that, no matter if they're holding a MP5 or an AS-50, anyone can swing around 180 and stop on a target without their gun dropping down even slightly, and with superhuman balance. It renders close quarters weapons pretty much useless. To maintain authenticity, DayZ needs to move players away from the "best gun" way of thinking, towards the "right tool for the job". Currently everyone can be Carlos Norman Hathcock II at the drop of a hat. Instead of anyone being able to turn their hand to sniping, the learning curve should make it so people can be amazed by skilled marksmanship. -
Did you?! There is a distinct lack of suggestions in your addition to the "suggestions" section. Take a wild guess where you can stick your "/FACEPALM" EDIT: @Unit01 - The difficulty should definitely be ramped up, drastically. But a small point regarding the double switches for building entry, IMO there shouldn't be any part of DayZ that can't be achieved by a lonewolf. Granted, some tasks should be so incredibly difficult that most wouldn't even consider them, or would at least think twice when solo. Making things literally impossible for an individual, should be avoided. Some players choose to play alone, but there are some players who only play alone because they HAVE to. Encouraging co-operation, and forcing it, are two entirely different things.

No, THAT is ridiculous. On login, your character will spawn where you last logged out. EDIT: The roof of a firestation, in Elektro, is NOT a default "South Coast" spawn point. Don't bitch at me, I didn't do it.It's a basic fact that EVERYONE should be aware of after the first couple of dayz playing. Also. The threat from other survivors is part of the atmosphere in DayZ. I don't particularly like the fact that certain KoS players play purely for PvP, but it IS part of the game. Just another thing we have to learn to survive. Maybe you've misunderstood what I was trying to say. I'm a good-guy, I don't want to promote player-killing. I just accept it as part and parcel.BUT, if you choose to initiate conflict, sniping from hundreds of metres away, is a particularly dick move. Nobody shoots a survivor who hasn't noticed you, with an AS-50, from 700M, in "self-defence"
-
KoS'ers tend to use terms such as, "legitimate" and "as intended" to describe their style of play.Unless your name is Dean "Rocket" Hall, you couldn't possibly know what is "intended". Treating DayZ like any other PvP game, while ignoring all other aspects of gameplay, is simply laziness. Well now, that's just a lie. You tried to plug your own crap idea for a few pages, all while making yourself look like a pretentious knob. The community told you they didn't like your idea, and you threw a tantrum. Now, as before, you resort to insulting the entire community while you widen your ass with your ill-perceived superiority. Grow up. If you're so thoroughly convinced of the future failure of DayZ you should never have come back. Go home, Sergey. We don't want you here.

Undead thread? Kill it with fire! -
You're either a liar, or a liar. Which is it? EDIT: Elektro is a deathmatch. The firestations are a vantage point for marksmen. You WILL take fire if someone spots you on the roof. The main problem I find with PvP is the lack of actual fighting. Most kills are from snipers (with anti-materiel rifles FFS!)
