Will this new game 'standalone' be Playable for mac?

Horses eat grass, so feeding them isn't a problem. There are a few other "horse" topics in the suggestions section. Use the search bar.

For the standalone; please make the zombies a challenge
[email protected] replied to KetchupOnTheDog's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
They'd probably suffer a few aches and pains. That's for damn sure.Chances are they'd keel over from all the nasty little bacterial infections they gather during life as a Zed. Yummy. -
Then by that logic, neither do the Italian, Belgian or American weapons. :wacko:If you're going by ArmA 2, the "Harvest Red" campaign should have bugger-all to do with DayZ, besides geographical similarities. If, when the story unfolds, the lore says aid choppers were sent from Britain, then that's gospel, as far as we're concerned.

Survival may be the ultimate goal, but anyone can make their "days survived" reach stupidly high numbers, simply by not logging on.Survival hasn't yet become a real challenge. DayZ hasn't even begun. I've been viewing the MOD as the chance for us to explore as many facets of this global post-apocalyptic interactivity as we can. Simply staying alive for 145 dayz must have came at the cost of many missed opportunities.

What a pisser. I've had a similar experience. The worst part was the 3 people in the car were all over the place when we spawned in again. Had to drive from Novy to Gorka to pick up Bryan. Did you get back on yet?

Best I had was a 40+ days Hero, until a bus full of LMG bandits teleported behind me and my buddy while we were trying to fix an ATV. It's no biggie though. Most of my long-term surviving has been entirely flukey. It's pretty much a guarantee those ghillie guys would pop you if you got spotted, if only to protect their chopper. The survival time will be a major accomplishment in SA, with all the diseases floating about.

Great new(maybe new?) map idea
[email protected] replied to Jamie454's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I wouldn't even class Cherno or Elektro as cities. They're just big towns in my book. Mind you, I have no idea what factor makes that distinction in Chernarus, since it's fictional. I just had to look up "poms" on google. Reckon I'm too far north to come under that class, but I suppose that's up to you fellas. A Scottish island themed map would be good craic. Maybe something like Skye. Where Portree is the biggest settlement. -
It's definitely an achievement, just not one I'd have strived for. Survival is supposed to be a challenge in and of itself, but it's the constant threat that you're meant to distract yourself from. It shouldn't be your primary goal. I understand everyone's got their own way of playing, I just don't see the point of an online game if you spend all your time avoiding people. Go be a medic or something. It's risky. But it's also rewardy. Namalsk isn't all it's cracked up to be IMO. It's good for a change. But once you get the map sussed, it's not the hardcore challenge everyone makes it out to be.

Great new(maybe new?) map idea
[email protected] replied to Jamie454's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
An OZ themed area would be cool to explore, as long as the map has a decent bit of rural banter. I don't know why people keep suggesting city maps. The first thing I'd do in a zombie apocalypse is get the hell away from any densely populated areas. -
If the mini-bar in your limo is stocked, I'll pay it a little visit. That's the most positive response I can muster.

Logged on once 145 days ago, Logged on once today. In all seriousness, if you don't die all the time, you're not doing it right.

I'm going to need a hell of a lot more bear-traps. -
If Rocket doesn't include this feature, I will hunt him down.

Improved surrender animation
[email protected] replied to The2ndLink's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
 I'd like to see a lot more proper banditry than pointless murdering. One little thing. I know people have mentioned having cuffs or rope to tie people up. While it's got its good points, I think I'd rather have a "full nelson" or similar action, to restrain a player. It would take one bandit to restrain one victim, and would prevent people from being tied up long enough to get bored. Even if players can escape from bindings after a certain time, I'm pretty sure getting tied up, robbed, and left would be enough to make people just quit the game. -
Dogs and how they interact with survivors.
[email protected] replied to SgtDouglas's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I believe when the idea was first brought up, there was mention of dogs having the ability to recognise people and get used to hanging around with your friends. It would make sense, since that's how it works IRL. -
Be less crap at spotting maybe? Or cut and run instead of trying to find him. You can't win 'em all.How is anyone supposed to not get found by you if you have a thermal scope? Certain camouflage only works in certain terrain. A thermal scope is no comparison in terms of "overpowered"ness.

You can manually change the FOV. There's a how-to guide HERE I used to hate 1st person, for the weird view angle. The gun just looks way too close to your face, and you can only just see your hands. I don't know about you, but in real life, I can see my arms. A horizontal FOV of 80-90 and a little bit of aiming-deadzone (25-50%) and the whole experience is a LOT better.

My Personal Suggestions - A selection :)
[email protected] replied to UmBe's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I heard 250.But yeah, I think weapons should kill you easier. Getting shot shouldn't knock you out. The adrenaline would keep you going till blood-loss knocked you out. Apart from that, cool beans. -
Explain Your Avatar!
[email protected] replied to a_typical_noob's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Just a photo of me. EDIT: Actually that's lies. IRL my facial hair is black. -
I would like to see something in the area of 2km view range, so players can get the most from their scoped weapons. But the option shouldn't be client side, unless the highest possible setting is default and you can choose to set it lower if your PC can't handle it (I have no idea how much effect it would have TBH) Fog closer than this should be linked to the weather system. There shouldn't always be the same level of clarity, but this MUST be synchronised for everyone. I would love to have a day or two where snipers are useless because if you can see another person, you're close enough to punch them in the face.

Constantly kicked off games

Are you sure? Sounds like you killed a player (dog), got bandit skin then got kicked.EDIT: Is this still happening? I thought server admins would be aware of this by now. -

Global Causality - Within the Scope of DayZ?
[email protected] replied to hoik's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Q, you seem to be looking at this with the attitude that your group must be able to win. I'll point out now that I may have just misunderstood what you're trying to say. If the design took a turn toward reddit clan, meta, loot-farming, a massive portion of the community would simply drop DayZ on its ass. EDIT: To clarify; I'm not against players being in clans. I just see too much meta-organisation as systematically sucking the "game" out of the gameplay solely to meet your "victory condition". It's very shallow in my eyes. Especially in DayZ, where the broad overview says "play to win" doesn't exist.
