EDIT: Couldn't resist. ^_^ That's a good spy though. Wonder how many other DayZs there are in the world. Better watch out, or Titov is going to be using this as his defence.

Get a couple of your buddies up there to fill every available slot, in every vehicle, with wood-piles. As a "thank you".

Waypoints only allowed with a GPS

I'm not here to argue semantics. Convenient, accommodating, uncomplicated, less demanding, accessible, simple, manageable. Whatever you want to label it as, it's a feature which makes your experience easier through means which wouldn't be necessary if you were willing to put in more effort. If you consider it elitist to support the ideals which make the concept of DayZ stand out as the "anti-game" which grabbed out attention in the first place, you're playing the wrong game. -

You made me boot up the PC. Can't cut and paste your ramblings on the crappy browser. Are you broken? That's a perfect example of a change in difficulty. There's no question about that. Are we done here? EDIT: Class. ;) -

You do realise the question you asked, the one about "REASLITICAL" elements, is answered in the post you quoted, don't you? Go back and read what you've written over the course of this mess. I just did. And it made no more sense second time 'round. This isn't your personal chatroom. Take the information you've been given, learn from it, and leave while you still have some semblance of dignity. I've tried my best to be nice, but what respect do you believe you deserve? If you can't see that your, apparently deliberate, ignorance is the problem here, there's no help for you. -
Fall randomly when running in the dark
[email protected] replied to spezi's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It's been suggested before, sure, but I still like the idea. It'd be best to only run the risk of tripping over certain scenery items, and only during sprinting, otherwise nighttime will just be a massive pain in the ass. TheSodesa has a point. Arbitrary triggers just shouldn't be used in DayZ if the aim is to make things authentic. Action/reaction is the way to go. -

What questions? You've asked no questions apart from "why remove waypoints?". And that was answered BEFORE YOU ASKED IT!!! You've made assumptions which are just plain wrong. You've tripped over your own argument. Now you just sound like an idiot. If you don't understand what I'm telling you, let me spell it out. DayZ is not supposed to be easy for you, but it is supposed to give you something to work for. You are rewarded for your efforts not artificially, but with accomplishment. Concessions have been made, to allow for gameplay to flow at a reasonable pace. That isn't the same as throwing authenticity out the window because you think the game is too hard. Grow up. -
Apart from all the load on the servers, this would fit into DayZ extremely well. The concept sounds familiar, it's probably been mentioned before. But complications aside, I'd like to see this included. It'd add to suggestions people have made regarding burying and burning bodies, whether to cover your tracks, or get rid of the stink (flies)

EDIT: You said yourself, it's the journey that makes the story. What do waypoints add to that equation? You run straight from A to B. Cool story. I don't mean to get snarky, but I hate having to repeat myself, (even though you seem to really enjoy it) -

Haw haw, No offence intended, I was citing my own attitude as an example. I understand the "believable, immersive world" banter. And I want to join you in it. That's why I'd like teamRocket to make a statement RE; DayZ as intended. Instead of covering up the cracks, lay a solid foundation. The way we've been selecting our server settings etc. still feels like it's just a leftover from OFP. I'd like to keep the ability to spy my cool loots, and check out the sweet new Standalone threads, but 3dp isn't going to be a gamebreaker if we get a confirmed definition of the vision that doesn't include it. I hate having to get so defensive over something that I just consider a fact of the matter. It's not becoming of a gentleman. -

See the flaw in your logic, or carry on repeating yourelf. It's up to you. The fact is, it IS a game, and certain sacrifices have to be made to create challenging scenarios and maintain pace. If you didn't have to monitor your food/drink requirements or find morphine to heal broken legs(yes, that's a bit daft), what would you be doing? You'd be playing ArmA 2. Adding skill requirements (by removing unnecessary HUD icons) adds to the overall challenge and creates a rewarding experience. If you don't relish overcoming the challenges handed to you, this isn't the game you should be playing. Nobody said your character lives in the area. But if YOU know the area, use that knowledge. if you DON'T know the area. Take some time, and GAIN that knowledge. Your own familiarity with situations is more important than what your character knows. He/She is just an avatar for you. No backstory, no predefined traits, no classes/perks/killstreaks. (I think you can guess where this is headed) /discussion -
Having everybody the same blood-type doesn't retroactively replace all the blood-bags in the world with matching donor-blood. Don't let the logic hit you in the ass on the way out. ;) MOOB. devlos melborP EDIT: HA! Thanks to Goggalor for that bit of info. Didn't realise AB+ folk could recieve ALL blood types. I still think it's a bit of a stretch, but I learned something new. Appreciated.

I'd support having it take days/weeks to die of thirst, if you want to stay logged in to the game 24/7. They're two entirely different subjects. If you can't read a map, put in a little effort. It'll be to your benefit in the real world too. (though that won't matter since you'll be constantly logged into DayZ, waiting to starve to death) -

You're in a topic about GPS, talking about broken legs and Pepsi? You really are crap at navigating. -

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Even if their views appear to be nothing more than a figment of an elitist attitude. As an example. If the game managed to simulate pain, to the extent that being shot, hit or otherwise wounded would incapacitate for some length of time, the game would also become harder. Encouraging avoiding conflict as opposed to winning. I, personally, would support this, but i know many wouldn't, so I refrain from passing judgement. (though I reserve the right to throw insults around. It's in my nature :D) My point is; increased difficulty, immersion, authenticity and tension should come from more than just a restricted field of view. The 3dp denier's arguments focus almost entirely on combat. Whether PvP or PvE. That's giving a VERY narrow scope to such an open sandbox game. Locking FPV and calling it "hardcore" would just be a cheap trick IMO. -
It's strange that hospitals have more "universal" blood-bags than antibiotics, but it's arisen from the fact that the game was set up to keep a reasonable balance between pace and challenge. I haven't seen a chopper crash recently, so, no comment.

It's a fair point, but everyone's got a different perspective on the subject. I use both, and I like having the choice. It'd be pretty wasteful to deny us the chance to check out all the new art assets for SA. But I agree with the argument that the uber awareness, lack of tension and "periscopes" spoil gameplay. We'd be better having the discussion in your other topic, this one's derailed big-time. EDIT: So.... how 'bout dem devblogs eh? -

It'd be cool, but biologically it would mean they can see in the dark better than we can. That would be feckin' terrifying. -
