  1. lol, such as which elements? Finding a gun and ammo in a barn. Ok, in RL they're only so easily available in USA, but still...I walk into a barn, find a gun. Yup. Sounds plausible. Having 360 vision while your head is pointing in one direction? Unless you're a rabbit, not possible at all. Are you a rabbit in game? No.

    Anarchy

If that were so, then we'd all still be where we started in the caveman times. There were no laws, no repercussions, no right or wrong then. But somehow, weirdly enough, everyone didn't just go killing everyone else, but slowly but surely civilisation evolved and grew. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sociocultural_evolution Some reading of sociology never hurts before you go making such confident claims.
  3. The word REALISM mentioned when the majority of players play with 3rd person 360° view is rather a contradiction.
  4. 3rd person is really the favourite tool of easy-mode bandit players. It allows good 360 vision, excellent spacial awareness, without having to actually move and reveal your position. Why I consider it Hello Kitty and any hardcore badass player should despise it. Funny how these so-called badasses are so quick to press the "carebear alarm" button whenever someone mentions PvP, and claim those want an "easier game" while they are hardcore badasses. However when suggestions come for making the game actually more difficult and more of a challenge they go all rainbow and "oh, let people play it the way they want" even if your out-of-body experience is more unrealistic than any of the "what would actually happen in a zombie apocalypse" debates.
  5. As long as theye boys are playing on 3rd person view servers, with crosshairs and as long as getting weapons and ammo and avoiding Zeds is as easy as it is now, this sure as hell isn't a zombie survival mod. It's just a shooter with a bit more running to do before you get to shoot. I don't mind banditry, but grow up already and stop calling your easy-mode-beaner-supply-route badass or hardcore. If this game were made hardcore for real, you'd be the first ones out...
  6. Whining about 1st person is like whining about PvP. In a real zombie apocalypse everyone would be killing each other and NOONE would have 3rd person view, ok! Stop trying to make this game easier. 3rd person is so Hello Kitty. If you can't take 1st person view, then this game isn't for you and you should play tetris instead.
  7. YES (in principle) Still won't help much against (long range) ambushes, but at least it's some step. P.S. Why not also a YES or NO poll with these questions for some easy statistical overview?
  8. Yes. Big yes. No starting gear at all. Not even food. So spawners aren't helpless suppliers for bandits and so it actually makes basic survival again the point of the game and a risky thing.

    Is DayZ what you expected?

Playwise it is what I expected. I also liked it more at the beginning, when the focus were still mainly zombies and not PvP as much. I play Red Orchestra 2 when I want to shoot players in the head, and being that it's nazis at the end of my barrel I get a kick out of it too. Now the whole feeling is just general douchery, immature and hostile comments, trolling, namecalling, etc. Nothing terribly pleasant. If it wasn't for Dr. Wasteland and his fun crew I run with, or at least talk on Mumble with when I (usually) can't get into servers, I'd have already quit the current state of the game. Still waiting for a more polished product and more dedicated roleplay servers on hardcore difficulty, with some sort of a filter for more mature players (even if they're bandits) to keep the douches out.
  10. I play games for fun, to release some tension after work, even if it's frustrating games like this, and not say World of Trains or something. But if I want constant aggression and incredible levels of hostility even in chat and forums, not just in a firefight, I might as well stay in the office all the time. Srsly guys. Every "oh I'm such a tough badass" player and commenter obviously needs to get out more, cause it seems you're forgetting this is just a game, something meant to be fun. It's quite absurd how even the forum attitude has changed to a constant hostility, where "I shoot on sight" is a sign of ummm...what is it? Skill? Being a "serious gamer"? And any call for a bit of a friendlier atmosphere gets a "GTFO carebear" reply. One of the reasons why I stopped playing the game seriously and just drop all my guns and stuff to the ground on entry and run around aggroing zombies or climbing over buildings and doing other pointless stuff... Used to play countless hours of Red Orchestra 2, where the point IS kinda to shoot people in the head as often as you can, so I hardly have a problem with doing that lol, it's just that in a zombie game, we all kinda hoped more focus would be on, well, zombies. Oh well, doesn't matter anyway, does it... :D Trig, the zombie bait sniper of nazis badass carebear

Got a New Game for You to Play in DayZ

I had a very good time gaming today. Did a few terribly immature experiments, to see what is it like to be completely unarmed and just walk around, see the nature, etc. 1. Experiment I messed on channel a bit I'm a scientist studying zombies, put my pistol in my backpack and stood up. FPS was shit so it was basically unplayable, so I just basically walked towards the north. Some people seemed annoyed someone was saying something other than "Friendly in Cherno?" or "I got some good gear for you at airfield." and other silly stuff, and they announced an open hunt on me. I did warn them it's poor sport since I don't shoot back and basically just walk, but someone still made it a point to find me and shoot me in the head. Well, fair dues to them for consistency anyway. No worries, said I, since the soul is immortal and we all come from the sea anyway, and sure enough I was back at the coast, alive and kicking in a minute. 2. Experiment I just dropped all my gear on the coast and started walking north. Got as far as Mogilevka, but then servers kept disconnecting me and I ended up in debug forest. Just respawned and was, by divine grace of DayZ, again alive and well at the beach. 3. Experiment Dropped all my gear except the waterbottle, and decided to see how many Zeds I can aggro by running through towns. Now, this was the bomb. THE BOMB I tell ya. I sprinted with 20 or more Zeds on my tail. Right into Electro. Noone shot at me (although the server was full) and I tried to get any Zed I saw into the chase. Now the funny thing...I ran to the metal railing construction, climbed up, ran along that, down the other side, only 2 Zeds there. Ran back arounds, to get my running mates back, but they seemed to have given up and didn't wanna play anymore. I wasn't terribly happy about their lack of enthusiasm for the marathon. So I did a few circles around the fields to gather more of them, but then somehow I was hit a few times, started bleeding and couldn't stop to bandage. So I made for the tall smokestack at the edge of the town, climbed to the top, and all 20 Zeds started making up the ladder after me, I hoped I could jump off, but couldn't so they made it up and ate me. Jolly good fun, I tell you. :D
  13. I experienced this too. Ran with a guy and he constantly had to stop and wait for me. And yes, the machine I run the game on is not the newest, so that could well be the cause of this.
