What are you on about? Getting geared, going out and eventually getting shot in the face in some random, epic firefight is the way to go. The only way to go. I savor those moments. Dying in Dayz is unlike dying in any other game. In the private hive community I play on you don't worry about hackers... you only worry about getting shot in the face due to a lack of tactical advantage. -

Admins are human just like everyone else... but if they're doing something that affects your ability to play (harassment or otherwise) you really ought to consider submitting a player report on the BB site. Balota Buddies has a hierarchical structure and most of the admins you'll be dealing with in game have to answer to a different head moderator/server admin. The head moderators / server admins are some of the most objective, honest people I've met and they will take care of any problems for you. But there's nothing that can be done if you don't submit a report. The mod team isn't psychic. -

This works if you're conscious, not entirely sure if it works when you're unconscious but it's worth a shot. Open your arma OA executable file. Yes, has to be the .exe (no, you can't launch from steam/dayz commander/ playwithsix). Join a server, right before you get in the game (one of the "loading character" or "retrieving" screens) press 'esc'. If you timed it right, when you spawn in your menu will be up and it will have a respawn option. This is great if someone gets cute and teleports you to the middle of the ocean. Get back to me and let me know if this works while unconscious please. -

Because such a place is so rare that everyone on Dayz will swarm and you will not be able to find an open slot. You can always just find a legit private hive community (not one of the many, many upstarts that last a month and then die out). Try out Balota Buddies. Been around for quite some time and we have multiple servers. -

Depends on the hive. If you whitelist with Balota Buddies you are whitelisted for 6 (I think?) different servers in 3 regions: US, UK, AU.

That does not indicate public hive, those letters indicate region (i.e. - "US" for United States, "Au" for Australia). Private hives will have a little cloud icon to the left of the server name.

Try vaulting. I know some folks that use vault if they spawn into the game standing inside of a car engine.

Problems Running Game With Other players

Agreed. I'm on an FX 8120 (8 core) overclocked to 4.1GHz and worst case scenario (60 people on server, fighting in elektro) I will hover around 19 fps. That is with 'High' settings, not maxed out, post processing disabled and antialiasing turned on low. I've played on a laptop with 2.3 GHz dual core and HD 3000 Integrated graphics but it wasn't fun. -
