Hello sir and/or madams. I am a bandit. I am not a KoS newb but an actual make you cry and regret your life bandit. I have 2 stories that I would like to share with you now and would like to know if other people have similar stories of things they've done that they then felt bad about after. My two stories I thought were hilarious at first, then felt bad about later, but now think are kinda funny again. 1st I ran up on some guy and scared him and told him to drop all his gear which he did (he didn't have much). I then told him to strip naked "DROP YOUR PANTS!" which he did. He then said "Oh thank you thank you thank you for not killing me everyone else in this game just kills you. Thanks for not killing me." I said "yeah no problem I'm a bandit I don't shoot people without saying anything to them first." I then pointed towards a town and said "That place hasn't been looted yet I'll give you 10 seconds to get out of my sight." He again said "Thank you OMG you're so awesome" and then turned and started running towards the town ... At this point I shot him in the back and killed him. :blush: 2nd (this one was on Taviana Epoch) I was in a trade city right next to the stadium and there was a new spawn there with just a pistol. I told him "GET TO DA CHOPPA! COME WID ME IF U WANNA LEEV!" so he came over and jumped in. I then flew into the middle of the stadium and landed and typed -Jump out and I'll give you a gun-. So he jumps out and goes like 5 feet away at which point I took off and said in side chat "Welcome to the Hunger Games!" This newb then says "well then didn't I win I'm the only one here?" This is when I let him in on the secret ... this was no ordinary Hunger Games. I typed again "No! This is not the normal Hunger Games. This is the game where I see how long it takes you to die from hunger!" He then cried for like 35 mins straight for people to come get him out but I was waiting outside the stadium with a scoped M240 and scared off every chopper that came near telling them "Interference with the Hunger Games is punishable by death!" :blush: Most people on the server were laughing hysterically at the guy crying. Eventually I just logged out for some reason I don't remember (probably had to go to work or go pick up my sister to hang out or something). I assume he eventually starved or got rescued. Anyone else have funny mean stories like this? "I shot some guy without saying anything" / "QQ you killed someone" need not apply.

I've been playing this "barren empty shoebox mod" non-stop for two years straight since the first month it was out and have more fun than any game I've ever played. I'm probably approaching the amount of hours played in DayZ as the major MMORPG I used to play and be professionally sponsored in and "played it like it was my job" (although probably not because I had like 11 months worth of [/Played] hours logged in that game cuz I played it 8+ hours a day for 7 years straight). Game is already perfect (the idea not the buggy crapshow we currently have) anything else added on top is just icing on the cake. This engine doesn't have voxel terrain and we'll probably never see digging or anything else that physically changes the terrain (there is nothing under the map). Also keep that in mind when you're playing to freak yourself out you're always walking on only ~1/2 a millimeter thick slab of dirt floating over a never ending abyss! It would be awesome but I don't really care about ideas that aren't even physically possible. They've already confirmed base building so we'll have whole new cities like people have made in Epoch but that's about as much as you can hope for.

Now that I think about it I would say Xbow is gonna be primary but I really think a Bow might go into your melee slot and a quiver would just be just an item like clips are or maybe go where Vests/ holsters go and arrows are stack-able items?

That's weird because this is one of the few forums that realizes it would be stupid to block swearing for a Mature rated games about killing people and swearing at them (most said line in game at the moment: Drop your fucking pants!) and the mods swear all the time. ass shit fuck poop This forum has BY FAR the greatest mods I've ever seen and I've been around PC gaming since before the internet was invented. Their only "rules" are all "use common sense and don't be a dick to people" explained 11 different ways.

Okay thanks .... downloading hacks now so I can use them only on 3pp servers! ...... you clearly don't get the point of this mod. It would have no use on hardcore servers because those don't have wallhack exploits due to a badly implemented 3pp by people who never meant it to be used for a PvP game.

They are being DDoSed by nice hackers. They didn't want to crash the game just give everyone a still easily playable and not even noticeable ping increase.

I was just ignoring those peeps but THX! I thought I made it quite clear when I said I've got a chuckle out of most of you guys stories so far keep them coming! My favorite so far is the 3 second stare down followed by inevitable death. I love when that happens to me and I'm just like "ughh, well I guess I kinda gotta kill you now buddy ..."

Except you said it yourself ... that would be a survivor who steals to survive and only kills if he has to ... this is being a neutral player not a bandit. Letting people live wouldn't really fit with me roleplaying that I've accepted that zombies are now the dominant species and humans have no right to go around killing them just to stay alive for a few more days before their inevitable deaths. Sometimes I even break people's legs and feed them to the zombies. Who do you really think people are going to remember more someone like me or someone that does something they will forget 10 minutes later like stealing their stuff and running off when someone else just KoSes them from around a corner 10 minutes after they've been robbed? I bet the guy from my 2nd story still remembers that quite clearly (probably even still cries about it) and it was like over 7 months ago. Without people like me this game would have never got popular in the first place. It will survive the ages because there is nothing else like it and is basically the exact kind of game people have been dying for forever. LoL'ed. You would make a good cop in America :lol:

..... yeah you should probably just stop. That is the entire point of this mod .... you find it acceptable that you are "able to know what you can't see?" .... Because that is not in fact how your brain works. Nor is it acceptable in a "authentic simulation" game.

Happened in the mod but ... (this is also the only time I've ever not killed someone who used the word 'friendly' at me) One of the people my 10+ year group have met and been playing bunch of games with for over a year now we met one time when we were all riding bicycles down the road like a bike gang and we saw some random noob so we start circling him ringing the bells telling him we're going to kill him. He was crying like "No please don't I'ma friendly blah blah". It was at this time, when we're about to kill him, that we heard the biggest non-nuclear explosion in DayZ history just over a little hill from us (I think we were in east side of Cherno and it was on other side of the dead body pit little hill) so we can't actually see wtf just happened just the top of what looks like a nuclear explosion so we all, including this random guy, run over the hill and see fire everywhere like I don't even know how to describe how much it was like the entire map was made of fire. This was on a 100000 vehicle server and some hacker had teleported every vehicle that didn't have people in it to himself. About 99,997 of those vehicles exploded when he did it and killed him so he rage quit. So we run up and there's just exploded helicopters and cars and trucks and boats and ATV's everywhere. The only thing left is bikes. So we start talking about it with the random guy and how it was the craziest thing ever and the new guy gets on a bike and joins our bike gang so we invited him into our Skype call and have been playing with him ever since.

If you think KoS kiddies are bandits you've never met a bandit in this game. Also if you're running around shooting at any random direction that makes gun sounds or any person with a gun you see you're no better than the KoS kiddies. Especially considering you went to Elektro for the sole purpose of trying to KoS people ... If you shot at 2 people then hid and logged out you combat logged .... Just because you're bad and couldn't hit them doesn't make you a hero.

So the magic camera floating 15 feet behind you allowing you to see around corners and over walls worse than any cartoony arcade 'intentionally be as unrealistic as possible' 3pp shooter ever made isn't immersion breaking .... but fixing an exploit .. that's a deal breaker because not being able to cheat is to immersion breaking .... This doesn't touch 3pp in any way other than not allowing you to play like a scrub wallhacker. The game advertises itself as an "Authentic, open world sandbox survival horror sim" not as "BLASTEM UP 3000! The unrealistic built-in-wallhack game were walls don't matter and you can set yourself up to have a 0% chance of ever dying by camping on roofs! Pesky axe wielding murderers bothering you? Just jump up on top of firestation or hospital roof and use the awesome wallhack feature to see over the lip of the roof and when they approach ... BLASTEM UP! AWWWWWW YEAAAAHHH!!!!"

Making tons of new friends in the game because you do funny fucked up things and they want to get in on it and then stick around forever and play other games with you too > getting shot in the face 24/7 because you run up to people with your gun drawn yelling "IMA FRIENDLY!!1!" ;)

I'll take a silenced pistol that you don't need to take 30 seconds reloading after every shot any day. You also don't need to go retrieve your ammo because you can carry around a box of 5000 rounds and like 6 mags to refill. Even in the show Daryl would have been dead long ago if people with silenced pistols hadn't came and saved him when he's standing there trying to pull a bolt out of a zombies head that's stuck as there's 5 others zombies right there.

This comes when I can RP Robin Hood in the next patch. I will sell a fine array of pants, pitchforks, and rotten fruit in trade for bows and arrows for my band of merry men. Where da bandits hiding I know you people have done some messed up stuff?

Hopefully we get some innovative Mario 64 level fish AI too this game really needs it.
