Epoch is to vanilla mod what 3rd person is to hardcore servers.

^All of this^ The only difference I find between 1st and 3rd is you get scared by zombies and people coming around corners in 1st person. It's pretty much the same game as when I play 3rd I always go into sights to shoot people anyway unless I come around a corner and are touching them. But that said if you spend all your time corner camping on 3rd person servers you probably aren't going to be as good as someone who doesn't.

Because they probably know that most people in this game nowadays don't want the "exploit" fixed in any way even one that doesn't touch 3pp in any way other than unfairly seeing around corners and completely negates any of the fake arguments the crutch kiddies try to make ... which is sad.

I don't think I've made any post comparing 3pp with 1pp. I've already discussed 3pp and the flaws of 3pp as well as a perfect fix for those flaws of 3pp by using something that was already in Arma 2. You just chose to ignore it. You're also the one doing all the assumption I simply pointed out that you are acting exactly like the people I previously described and are continuing to do so by completely ignoring or acting like someone's points aren't valid because they aren't yours. People like this (not directing this at you unless you see it as describing yourself) are why people like me just make posts like I did originally [Man you scrubs sure are desperately trying to hold onto that crutch that makes you feel like you aren't terrible at the game because you can kill fresh spawns by magically seeing around corners huh?] and told Dagwood he would probably eventually end up doing the same. Sweet so it should be soon! 24 hour servers suck so bad for people with jobs that line up with their countrie's servers day time hours and the 4-6 hour day servers are perfect.

And now you're just completely going off on something else and ignoring what was said and assuming I only play 1pp which, even though isn't true, somehow makes any point I was trying to make invalid. Like someone who doesn't care about anything but keeping their corner camping crutch ... You are living up to exactly what I was talking about earlier. If you're going to claim you're not one of the people who play 3pp to use the exploit then don't live up the the stereotype ... or continue I couldn't really care less about someone acting as you are.

Every single other 3rd person shooter isn't built from a military sandbox simulator they are mad cartoony and have things like wall running and having to shoot people 10 times before they die to make it so you can compete with the corner campers. This game does not. I didn't say anything about all 3rd person gamers I was refering to the people in this thread acting like removing corner camping would be the end of the world. I guess if you took it as being directed at you that says something about yourself.

And there is a perfect way around that exploit from Arma 2 that keeps 3rd person intact other than that exploit. But these people don't care about that because they don't care about "being on a level playing field" they care about being able to use the crutch of corner camping.

This is exactly the problem with you people. You aren't corner camping to get on a level field with everyone you are corner camping because you want an unfair game breaking advantage over people who don't feel like sitting at a corner for hours straight until they see someone and the perfectly perfect idea of not being able to see in 3rd person what you wouldn't in 1st by some sort of FoW is absurd to you. And yeah you can see through walls sometimes in 1st person if you move your camera around right. Not around the wall but through it. Same in Arma 3.

And with that I think it's time to bust out the good ol' I love the people who act like every single shooter ever made wasn't 1st person only for the first 30 years shooters existed yet people seemed to manage and that 1st or 3rd person / hardcore or casual weren't even words to describe a game ... you were just playing a shooter. People who act like it's impossible to play a shooter in 1st person view are HIGHlarious.

Except that would only apply if the guy on the roof was using 3rd person to see over the roof without exposing himself and then landed his first shot. If he can't magically see around the lip of the roof he needs to expose himself and gives the person on the ground A CHANCE TO SEE HIM and stay out of his LoS or if he misses the first shot the guy on the ground will duck in to a building (which will probably have a gun if it's balota) now knowing roughly where the roof camper is and again HAS A CHANCE to shoot him from a random window or again stay out of his LoS and escape. However unlikely the red parts are there is still a chance which makes it as fair as DayZ can be. If someone is magically peeking over a corner with 0% exposure then pops up and shoots someone instantly the person had absolutely no chance and that is what is game breaking.

So the way to play right is to never go near any building or tree or any other object larger than a human on the off chance someone is corner camping behind it? Sounds fun.

So by that logic you want them to add nothing else to this game ever? This is an early alpha development build things aren't ever going to go 100% perfect. And it worked perfectly when it was used in Arma 2 no reason it shouldn't here as well.

Yes but as shown by the picture in the other thread it's not the same. The person doing the corner camping can see around the corner and see the person coming. The person who is coming can't see the person around the corner though. This is the opposite of having the same ability.

Add the feature from one of the mods where you can't actually see what is around a corner (in terms of players / items) until your character can actually physically see around it. Anyone who disagrees with this making 3rd person perfect is only doing so because they know they are bad at the game and the only way they can continue to KoS is by corner camping.

Oh sweet thanks for teaching me how to kill people in DayZ. What does anything you said have to do with my response to someone who says they are going camp laying prone in a hallway? And you knowing someone will probably come into your building eventually is not you knowing the exact second that someone is coming around a corner because you can somehow magically see around it even though you're in first person.

People who are camping don't magically get faster reaction times or have their game running slightly in the future from other people. You're talking as if people who are camping on a first person server can still magically see around corners and know people are coming in a desperate attempt to make yourself seem right.

How do you figure that's true at all? You would have no clue someone was coming and they would have no clue you are there. I personally would have a fairly decent chance of killing you in that situation as I'm in the 99th percentile for reaction time and always anticipate that there is an enemy everywhere at every time. See this is how you make an appropriate rebuttal to a thread that is of a different opinion than your own. Not by going "HURDUR everyone who plays hardcore is bad and needs safety blankets cuz they can't handle corner camping"

Don't worry Dagwood give it some time and you'll be like me and understand that these people will never care about or even read your points because they are so firm set in their ways of ruining the game for themselves that they couldn't care less about anything that would go against the crutches they cling onto like it's a life raft. They will in fact most of the time start insulting and using every swear in the book on you if you prove anything they are saying to be false with cold hard facts. As you can see this guy came into a thread about not liking 3rd person view and started spouting off about how people who play on hardcore servers only do it because they are wussies and afraid of corner campers and then brags about how good he is because he corner camps and then saying people who want to play in 1st person on normal servers but can't because everyone else is corner camping are crying because they need a "safety blanket" (not because they don't want to be playing a FPS against "wall hackers"). All this was before I ever posted in the thread and now he's acting all high and mighty like that never happened while reposting it. I call my best friends things much worse than "scrub" on a daily basis.

Me and my group that has been together for over 10 years met two people like this in the mod and have been hanging with them for over a year now. One of them we were all cruising down the road like a bike gang on bicycles and saw him running down the road so we all started circling him trying to run him over and he started talking to us and we started talking back; and then a giant ass explosion (probably one of the biggest in DayZ histry) happened like just out of our sight so we all run over even this new guy and it was some hackers "base" who had just teleported every single vehicle on the server, including the boats and choppers (this was on a super vehicle server too), and like 99% of them had blown up and he killed himself. We then played with this new guy for a bit longer, got into one of the like 2 vehicles that hadn't blown up, and eventually invited him onto our coms and he became our friend. The other one was a friendly who didn't have his gun out and I was a new spawn so I ran up and pretended I couldn't talk and was crouched shaking my head yes and no to his questions. I was then secretly sneaking into his backpack on the inventory screen and found a handy little M1911 and some ammo and stole it and robbed him with his own gun. He thought this was hilarious and so did I as it was a complete spur of the moment I wonder if this will work thing so I started playing with him and eventually invited him in too. We've been happily "accidentally" killing each other and robbing newbs ever since.

The game is still selling at almost the same speed as it has been all along. There are not 10's of thousands of hackers rebuying the game every day.
