    Zombies still exactly the same?

The zombies are the most important part of this game for ME!(glad to see others like me) - they made me play the mod from the beginning(just beautiful to see hundreds of zombies + real players on that huge map and survive on your own) but alot of people seems to think differently... And now i see people who are shooting on sight and play the game only for killing other players - SAD I'm waiting for improvement on the zombie part of the game too

Can the SA look like this?

The screenshots that OP has posted are from Left 4 Dead people - don't you play games other than Dayz? And yes L4D is old now - btw Source engine is the King out there As for the standalone - the devs have stated that the graphics are changed , but many features and effects are turned off for the videos (the gameplay that we have seen so far) as far as i know

Want to increase FPS in dayz

Well if you buy new CPU or whatever new part - yes the game will run faster , but Dual core's are still good for a lot of games i dont know your cpu speed - if it's 2 ghz or around that it's kind of bad- you could overclock your cpu to around 2.9 - 3 GHz btw in the video game options put shadows to high - especially the shadows will draw you back if you put them on lower setting - cuz their processing then is calculated by the cpu and not he gpu - so you need them to be on high and you should defrag the partition that Arma 2 is installed on every week atleast

Want to increase FPS in dayz

Dayz itself and maybe every server are capped at 1200 - 1600 view distance - i don't see any reason to touch that slider at all and Video Memory should be on Default Honestly i think a lot of people on the forums here are just advertising GPUs and CPUs - your cpu is fine man - the video card - yeah maybe little weak but not a big problem , the client side problem is the zombies(how they move , spawn etc.) and maybe some other "code" stuff - our PCs just can't handle some things of the mod as they are right now , the server side issue are the servers themselves - some servers just run on 20 fps and are bad - on others i have 70 fps and in cities 35-40 Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.6 Ghz GTX 260 SP 216 4 GB DDR2 800Mhz Ram Win 7X64 Btw after 1.7.6 dayz start to run very smoothly for me , they fixed some stuff AFAIK The other important thing is that command line : -malloc=tbb4malloc_bi atleast for me -malloc=tbb3malloc_bi -malloc=jemalloc_bi -malloc=tcmalloc_bi -malloc=nedmalloc_bi try these too- and see what's the best for you Also in the game video options i put terrain and objects detail to low and very low and if you have Vsync on - turn it off sry for my eng btw :D
  5. Maybe defrag the partition where Arma is installed and in control panel - power options - advanced - set the hard disk state to "never" turn off if it's not already for you

    Fps Trouble

Alot of people with laptops ALOT !! Why ?!....
  7. Exactly the same here!

    FPS Problem (again i know)

^ By the end of the year they say

    FPS Problem (again i know)

With this machine you should get 50 fps and more , but not in this state of the mod!! As i wrote on some other threads - the buildings and the map(Chernarus) itself has problems and also the devs said there are problems with the zombies ( different parts that are not merged together - and because of this the gpu goes crazy [Low Gpu Usage and what not])- in the standalone it will be a lot better - as i read So just wait btw - E8400 @ 3.6 GHz , ENGTX 260 Core 216 896 mb , 4 GB RAM Samsung - in Arma 2 i have 90 FPS no matter the mission or the AI or whatever - yeah - there are drops but .... Dayz - 25 fps.................... and a whole other thing is the server performance , in some servers i get 10 FPS LoL
  10. VALVe-DnB

    Why such low FPS ?!

Wait for standalone - arma 2 and dayz both have problems with cpu and gpu usage my friend with 2000$ pc have 35 fps ......................
  11. VALVe-DnB

is my pc good enough to run day z

i say - wait for standalone , this mod right now runs awful on any computer and in my opinion as hardware fan and enthusiast - dont listen to "buy a new pc " posts - this will be a mistake i just dont like to throw money outside the window ..... the game and the mod are having problem with both cpu and gpu utilization - well at least on some systems - probably most...
  12. ^ I it 's an i7 and the M series are good for overclock - i said 4ghz just to mention , 3,3ghz is very stable clock for M i7 as for the gpu usage - do a little search on google and BIS forums also , and yeah the buildings are the problem , on empty Chernarus is the same near cities and villages - gpu usage drops(no vsync) maybe it's on gtx 200 series only - idk , but ..... should not HAPPEN as i said - 306.23 driver helped a bit with both usage and fps
  13. omg - dayz forums really don't have any overclock guys , and the people here only suggests buying and buying - really? your processor is capable of getting at around 4 Ghz man - you're gonna fly after that just overclock your cpu at least to 3.3 - 3.5Ghz i'm with an E4400 @3 GHz -clocked , ENGTX260 sp 216 , 4 gb ram 800Mhz - 40 fps regular , and 25 in cities put max pre-rendered frames ahed at 4 in Nvidia control panel - and in the OA cfg file max frames ahead also 4 Im sure we all here are waiting for the standalone with some good optimization... and the low gpu usage is awful especially near buildings (cities) also the new driver(306.23) from nvidia helped me a bit with the fps

I Give Up Please Help With FPS?

OK After a hundreds of posts about fps and performance i will finally post my oppinion Arma 2 have strange engine for sure , Dayz is putting even more on top , BUT what's goin on - i'll tell you Chernarus map have some really bad optimisation - only this map , i have 65 fps on both Arma 2 games and maybe 30-35 in cities - this is in sigleplayer with lots of tanks , AI , shooting , explosions and whatnot but on Chernarus single player i have lower fps especially near buildings no matter the count of AI or what they do SO Dayz is dropping the fps even more + the map itself + LOW GPU usage (25%) near buldings + 450 Zombies + 45 players=13 fps in towns when online in Dayz The problems are - the map Chernarus , the low gpu and maybe cpu usage(which is pretty interesting) The people here always talk about PC specs and cfg files - this is wrong - they help a little but the fps still stays pretty much the same when you have quad or six core cpu - yes it is better , but in cities fps drops - this should not happen i have C2D E4400 @ 3Ghz 2MB L2 cache , ENGTX 260 SP 216 896 MB, 4 GB 800Mhz 6-6-6-15 ram and the game is runing fine in singleplayer , Dayz also is fine but only in forests when the GPU usage is 95 % where it should stay all the time btw Yes - the servers are important - one server is fast and others are laggy but the problem with gpu usage persists , yes- six core cpu will give you more frames , but why in cities the fps still goes down , if you have 70 in forests , in cities will drop to 40 , and in my case forests-35( online Dayz) cities-13-15 , on every machine the problem is the same , just not so noticeable and yeah , i hope the standalone will be much better , and Arma 3 also - it is a great game sorry for my possible bad english , i just get tired of repeating posts about pc specs and cfg files and suggestions for 2000$ pc's , this is not the case All this is on whatever settings - even with 8 AA - same fps , Post Processing dont change nothing from disabled to normal - only terrain and objects detail are giving some fps ... however , this is not helping post but sure thing is to put some frames ahead - both in the cfg file and on the graphics control panel - maybe 4 or 8 - the fps will stay almost the same but you get more fluid feel when playing
