development is only half done apparently. So this game which started with the design and much of the IP already conceived will take 5 years to develop. amazing. What happens when they get your money with a prototype.

In reality the deer close to people like that would disappear in the first week after the laws disappeared. Lots of guns and peoples actual morality exposed without the constraints of society. Deer only exist now anywhere near people because of the law, same as fish and every other wild resource.

They should just disable the global hive, it causes exponentially more trouble then it could ever fix.

ya the actual game is in a pretty sucky rut right now. They have set the officers tents to "attract children" mode to keep up interest and NO ONE is driving trucks just hiding them. But presumably those things are deliberate by the devs. As to the RPG 7, its utility depends on the utility of vehicles. If vehicles actually start to be used in the game by clans instead of simply being hidden then a means to raise the risk of putting 8 guys in a truck for a raid is a good idea.

Just model it with the semi auto switch, its silly to add it as the very rare auto versions.

ya feels like half the country was wearing scrubs.

actually a good idea cause the central economy is constrained by those items in barrels right?

Dark nights? Where'd they go? Also: Thunder?

Then make a boy scout simulator. Nothing your describing is linked to the darkness behaviour you desire. Normal darkness and the fluctuations of darkness going in and out of trees and buildings and the clouds blocking the moon will accomplish all of it. -
the new hiking jackets do resist rain long enough for you to get under cover damp. So there is something going on in that department in game.
-
Like the food dynamic the whole dampness and wetness dynamic is just way to over the top. IRL armies marched and fought and survived for millennium in wool. Not gortex, not nylon but wool and leather. Not in ancient history very recently and still in many places. They can do this not because they are stronger or because it does not rain where they are, but because short of a monsoon it actually takes a long time to over come a denim jacket with a sweater and tee shirt underneath and damp wool is still warmish. The whole "I got rained on I have to light a fire" is actually comical. If they made that more reasonable then talking about making the rain gear not so gamy would also make sense. But right now rain gear is a gamy solution to a gamy wet dynamic. They have to slow a characters reflexes down in heavy gear, so if you try to fight with your ruck on you pay a price. In a more subtle way they could do the same with wet clothing.

The behaviour of the cones and rods in the eye in regards to low light vision and colour perception is just fact. They teach it in basic training in Canada. I bet they do in other armies as well. You get allot of opportunity to observe it in real life if you spend some time in the infantry. I was playing in the dark and rain in Dayz last week. I could not make out anything but the rough outline of the tree line against the night clouds. Even in partial cloud conditions I could barely see trees beyond 30 paces in the thick forest. I paced it out. I could only have shot at most 75 or so yards and that would have been a long way. Is that perfectly realistic, no but its more realistic then many here seem to think. The clouds do seem a little luminous, which is not impossible but not typical in the actual out doors. Shadows in general are far more concealing even in day light then they are in DayZ. Fixing that issue would likely finish the lighting system. But as to how nice and dark the old way was. It was stupid, the only place in the world I have seen such darkness in nature above ground was in triple canopy patrolling in Panama. You could not see buddy 2 feet in front of you. And that is from someone who has patrolled in the pacific rain forests a great deal. Panama was dark. So dark your eyes could not adjust. Everywhere else I have been, your eyes adjust a great deal. -

That is not realistic. what ever you think. -
New renderer - When will we see it or at least get some kind of timeline?

seems that when a game can make 40 million before its complete and the market for it is saturated with an unfinished game, the motivations to complete it are undermined. And the excuses why are exquisite. they are doing something, but their rate of progress is laughable. -

The parts of your eye that can see in low light cannot differentiate colour at all. The game is perfectly accurate that way. -

I spent 7 years in the infantry, 5 years as a recce scout, much of that time in west coast rain forests. I spent a week in the last month in a natural park with no lights within 70 km of me. You have not idea what your talking about. I have spent exponentially more time in the wilderness then you have almost certainly. -

I think the current night dark is far far far more realistic then the old dark which was honestly stupid. Had a morning on underground early in the week were it was night time and raining and you really could barely see. On a server that would normally have at least 30 people at that time there were about 10 on. The last few "nights" in game have been clear skys and full moons and you can see as well as you should be able too. I honestly cannot fathom someone wanting the crazy ink black night that they used to have when stand alone started and in the mod. I was just silly. -
I have been playing on a locked 50 player server for months that is nearly always a wait to get into. Way way way better just because the hive is not connected. I think its just a terrible idea. But fundamental to the original concept so its still there. Let people get pissed, the whole mechanism is 99% greifing and exploiting and only 1 % added value. Ditch it.
-
They just have to kill the whole hive concept. Its only for abuse and actually a dumb idea given human nature.
-
How exactly can i get an m4 without killing someone?

Cool, they should add safeties, and if you climb a fence with a slung rifle with a round in the chamber you have a small chance of discharging it. -
I like the looks of the FAL
