you need to install the beta patch this can be done with commander or steam if using steam select play with beta when you launch the mod

use dayz commander and you can see what version most servers are running the lastest version 1.7.7.1 steam is updated to this and you can select what version you want to play in the properties

try flushing your dns to get a new ip to connect to to do this open cmd and type in ipconfig /flushdns if that dont work your isps dns server hasn't updated try using opendns or googles dns servers -

you don't own acr only the light its trying to patch something that ain't there so the serial key will never be in the registry

if you put the error messages we may be able to help you.. if you install dayz from steam dayz commander always sees it as corrupt -
just press ok and it will continue

if your on steam right click => properties => local files => Verify integrity of game cache dayz commander install/updates => click reinstall on the beta patch manual install http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php download unzip and install simples
